Hey guys! Spent an hour making these in Nuke for someone in the Redshift forums, so I had to share them with you guys too. The set contains 4 different Lomo Anamorphic distortion maps and the matching Bokeh based on the actual lenses. It’s all 2.39:1 Anamorphic aspect ratio at 2k resolution which is plenty of information for a distortion map resolution at 2048 x 857. The focal lengths included are 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm, each with their own matching bokeh variations and distortion maps. Just add them to your Redshift camera with the matching bokeh or break the rules and do it your way. Enjoy!

Fantastic, Saul! Can't tell you how much I appreciate this. Been looking for good distortion maps for ages.

Awesome, thank you. I’ve been wondering how to use that feature.

Hi Saul, Would you adjust the aspect in the DOF settings or is the custom bokeh doing this for you?

Saul Espinosa

Hey Paul, the way Lens Distortion Maps work is they are made for "exactly" the resolution they were originally meant to be in. So the Aspect Ratio/Resolution needs to match the original distortion map otherwise you will get weird distortion the further the difference is between the Lens Distortion Map and your Camera. The Bokeh can be put on anything but the Lens Distortion does require the matching resolution of the map. Hope that answers your question.

hello saul just became a patreon :D just wanted to clarify other than having the resolution of the render image to be of an aspect ratio width/height = aspect of distortion map, there is also an aspect ratio option for the DOF in redshift should we also change it from 1 to to the aspect of distortion map

Saul Espinosa

No need to adjust the aspect ratio of the bokeh, as this is already taken into account in the bokeh image itself. This parameter is only useful really when using the Bokeh without an image image itself to squeeze the bokeh shape into something anamorphic. Negative values squeeze it vertically, positive values squeeze it horizontally.
