Hey guys! Parts 3-4 will be releasing May 4th, this will be covering the new Redshift flakes utility shader, what all the features can do, and how we can leverage them for car paint shading. I will go over a simpler example, and move on to a more complex multi-layered and multi-colored exotic car paint, and how we can use this new flakes shader in different ways to get some interesting and exotic surfaces.

I will also go over making a pearlescent material, again leveraging our flakes utility shader, as this sort of surface can be a bit tricky and thin film doesn't always work for the look. I will also be covering the new Redshift Backplate feature at the end and its features, and how we can combine this with the Redshift Object Matte Shadow to place our car asset into a scene using a backplate. This will wrap up the 4 part series covering my process for different paint materials using the new Standard Surface and the new Flakes Utility Shader.

This scene will be available for download and I will link to all the relevant free assets. It will be available for all my Patrons May 4th. Thanks again for all the support and have a great day!

Am I guessing 3.5.15 is coming very soon?

Indeed! The build is scheduled for this week, obviously anything can happen but it should be up for everyone to use sometime this week. It is a pretty big release, adds the flakes and backplate to other DCC, and also the release of AMD GPU support, and also includes a workaround for the notorious Nvidia driver bug which should help a lot of people having performance issues when running multiple tools on a single display GPU.
