Hey guys! In this 3rd tutorial I will be picking up right where we left off on part 2. Unfortunately at the end of part 2 during some Redshift render tests I discovered that the refraction was acting strange due to the CAD model we downloaded lacking any actual thickness or "shell" to it. This then has forced me to dive back into MOI3D and add thickness along with repair some of the broken geometry. One of the downsides of free assets, is they can sometimes have issues. So in this particular project this is one of those cases.

In the end I end up having to rebuild most of the asset, and modified it to match the reference images closer to the real world NES cartridge. I also added some of the smaller studs and screws that were missing from the interior structure. These smaller missing details will look great when we open up the cartridge later on or use transmissive materials that show the interior structure. While I know this might be a "boring" stage along with UV'ing our assets, it is a necessary step in the process. Something we have to do before the fun parts of texturing/shading/lighting/layout begin.

I have attached the scene files below for you to follow along, including the FBX UV'd assets and Houdini scene. Thanks again guys for all the support, and have a great day!

Howdy Saul The link for vimeo on this seems to be broken. Would you mind taking a look? Thank you.

Tried Edge (both OSX) - both time clicking the Vimeo link on the player takes me to the generic Vimeo home page. Part 4 works as expected.

very strange, can you try reloading the page with a hard-reload in your browser. (to avoid any cache strangeness.) On Windows usually just holding the CTRL button + clicking reload will do a full reload.

I changed networks (came to work) and worked as expected on my laptop. Sorry for the hassle.
