Patreon Tutorial #47 - NES Game Project - Parts 3-4 *Available August 5th (Patreon)
Content
Hey guys! This months tutorial we will be picking up right where we left off on our NES project. At the end of part 2 I realized the cartridge CAD model had some issues so this has forced me to dive back into MOI3d and rebuild/fix any issues with the original model. Sometimes those free models as great as they are end up with a lot of problems, and in this case, the issue was the lack of thickness which was necessary for proper refraction.
After further adjustments and some test renders to confirm the model was fixed, I move on to the UV stage using RizomUV of our FBX assets. While we can get pretty far with procedural shading on this particular asset, I still want to UV the object for easy texture painting if needed later on or change the game labels, etc. RizomUV makes this process really easy, and while I personally do not like the UVing process, RizomUV makes it a lot more fun. It is a great tool dedicated to the UV process and they have a great price for a perpetual indie license. I highly recommend it, especially since it supports a small indie team.
As usual, I will be including as many of the project files as possible, and will include it in the tutorial video posts attachments. Thanks again guys for all the support and have a great day!
