Hey guys, we are finally at the end of our NES tutorial series. Parts 11 & 12 will be available to all my Patrons on November 4th. I will be going over the final render output, and building a shader switch setup to easily swap between the different game labels and textures. Rendering it all out to disk and being efficient with the specific frames we send to Deadline and re-use others.

Eventually, we end up inside Davinci Resolve and import in our different animated NES game cart frames, setting up OCIO with ACEScg and AgX in mind. Go over some color correction and grading of our image to pump up the contrast. I also jumped into Magic Bullet Looks to add some more post-fx like film grain etc. After that, I bring in our music files for each game and go over Resolve's Fairlight context to quickly normalize our audio tracks, and how to use a limiter to avoid audio peaks. Also how to crossfade between the audio tracks. In the end, I export everything to disk and run it through Topaz Video AI to increase our renders FPS using its Machine Learning Interpolation methods.

This was a fun full project series, and the end result is I now I have some Nintendo NES Game cartridge assets for any future projects. I hope you learned something new and enjoyed the workflow process using a variety of different tools from Substance Painter, Moi3D, RizomUV, Houdini, and Davinci Resolve. Thanks again guys for all the support on Patreon, have a wonderful week!

It's been 4 months and we still only have tutorials about game cards. I wonder when other interesting things in your survey will start (about Solaris, Production and Environment, etc). I think a lot of patreon guys here also want to know about that

People asked for a start to finish product tutorial. So I made one, showing the entire process using multiple tools. This series is now finished. I personally like doing environments the most, but people voted for more product project based tutorials from start to finish. Unfortunately I cannot make everyone happy every month. With the release of Houdini 20 there will be some interesting new features to cover soon.
