Kingsman: I remember watching the trailer over 10 years ago now, and being really excited, but when I actually sat down to watch the movie was left disappointed. If my memory serves me right, the trailer was kinda played like James Bond and Mission Impossible type of movie, but I feel like the movie took the movie Kick Ass, and tried to make it a spy movie instead of a comic book movie. But it’s a wildly loved movie, and I’m in a minority but I think the sequel is a better movie. But I’m curious if y’all agree or disagree with my take.

Kingsman: Hey Andrew and Tara! What would you say was your favorite spy movie trope in this movie? Thanks for all your hard work Rejects!

The Godfather: This movie is a masterpiece, it’s a 3 hour epic, but only feels like 2, every second and frame of this movie is chiefs kiss in my opinion. But I’m curious if y’all agree, and do y’all have a favorite Al Pacino performance.

For Kingsman: This movie suffers from a serious (if depressingly predictable) lack of complex female characters. If you were going to genderbend any of the male characters into women, which would you choose, and who would you cast?

Kingsman The Secret Service: Hi Tara & Andrew! If you two were recruited into the Kingsman program, would you survive that wild training sequence — especially the underwater dorm room — or would you tap out the moment Merlin started “testing” everyone? Fun Fact: The church fight scene took seven days to shoot and was filmed as one long “fake” continuous shot—combining real choreography, hidden cuts, and camera tricks to make Colin Firth look like a one-take action machine.

srry ik im annoying rn but is knives out still in the works..? idc about waiting just wanted to ask

Paweł Kaczmarek (Pavel Catch-mahr-eck)

I have to ask (and I genuinely don't meant to start anything and am just curious about your take on this) .. why is this something a movie needs to have in your oppinion? Particularly an action movie which tend to have more male-skewing audience? Why cant there be movies that have mostly male complex characters, movies that have mostly female complex characters or movies that have both? I remember watching WIDOWS and not once did I think to myself "Hey, where are the interesting guys in here?"

Paweł Kaczmarek (Pavel Catch-mahr-eck)

KINGSMAN Hello. Love from Poland as always .. it's cold here and it sucks ... now on with the question :) I love this movie and to me the biggest surprise was Colin Firth. He used to be either a calm lovable presence like in Bridget Jones' Diary or a very serious uptight Brit like The King's Speech but here he proved himself quite the capable action movie star :) Are there any other actors that you remember that surprised you in that way or are there maybe some actors who in your oppinion could surprise us with their action movie capabilities? I for example would love to see how Paul Rudd would work in an action role .. a role that's not a comic relief like Ant-Man ;)

Hades

I think they changed it from when they reveal their shooting schedule, it usually comes out a week after to two weeks? I’m not sure though so don’t take my word for it lol

Kingsman: It’s the best Bond film that isn’t a Bond film. I feel like the Craig films by and large lacked the fun that Kingsman had and I hope we get back to that for the Bond franchise with learning from Kingsman. The “Free Bird” sequence is iconic and answers the question, “Can Colin Firth be an action hero?” Yes, he can. It’s much better than the comic it is based on just like how Matthew Vaughn adapted Kick-Ass. Samuel L. Jackson decided to do the lisp on his own which was not in the script and said he always wanted to be a villain in a Bond movie where the whole cast was great. What was your favorite part of the movie?

Dan Vacura

Kingsman is based on a comic by Mark Millar just like Kick-Ass where Matthew Vaughn adapted both comics into movies. Comic books span many genres where the 1st famous graphic novel was A Contract with God and about a man who gives up his faith after the death of his adopted daughter. The original trailer leaned heavily into Eggsy’s training where it was like a young James Bond in training and had a bit of humor which was pretty bland. It did a poor job selling the movie and it didn’t actually show the movie’s personality. The 2nd red band trailer showed the humor and action with less of the training and it actually showed the real style of the movie. You’re the 1st one I’ve heard say the sequel is better! The sequel has a lot of things that miss.

The Godfather-If the unthinkable (?) happened and a remake was in the works, who would you cast as Don Vito, Michael, Sonny and Fredo?

thereelrejects

KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE (Andrew & Tara) - Question what kind of dog would you get for the final exam there.

Jay Rushton

After y'all watch The Godfather, you guys should watch and react the mini series The Offer on Paramount+ it's about the making of this film and it stars Matthew Goode, Miles Teller, Juno Temple, Dan Fogler, Colin Hanks and Giovanni Ribisi Highly recommend this

The Godfather: I struggle with the 1st 30 minutes of the movie with the wedding taking so long, but once you see the severed horse head, it’s amazing from that point on. I know I originally saw it way too young. The baptism intercutting with the hitmen at the end is one of my favorite sequences in film history and is the 1st thing I think of for The Godfather. What was your favorite part of the movie?

(The Godfather) (Spoilers maybe?) Did you guys notice all of the symbolism with the oranges? There's an orange in every scene where someone gets "whacked". Do you think the 'orange = death' motif in the film a brilliant, intentional symbol by the director, or was it a great coincidence that fans later adopted? Love y'all! ❤️

JC

As a woman and a lesbian, it's what I want to see, simple as that. But your example doesn't work, because we don't have over 100 years of cinema history where women have dominated the cast of nearly every movie. It's fine if you like this movie, and it's fine if you like movies starring mostly men, but I am always wanting more women in the movies I watch, and it doesn't happen nearly as often as I think a lot of people believe

WillieTheNerd

I don't know if y'all do movie requests, but thought I'd put my two cents anyways of some recent films I've watched that exceeded my expectations! The Long Walk, Into The Woods, Next to Normal, and Little Women

Stardust_and_Madness

Colin Firth is also great as a comedic actor in Nanny McPhee

Stardust_and_Madness

I’m still waiting for The Green Mile lol - they filmed that a week after Shawshank 🤣 they’ll get there

Angela Vance

Super cool The Godfather hell yeah awesome guys please do them all cool as shit love you guys 🥰💯💥💥

Paweł Kaczmarek (Pavel Catch-mahr-eck)

Ok ... so it's not really that the movie "suffers" from it, but a matter of personal preference - I get that :) And the example I made does work for the point I was trying to make which is that I (and I would argue a lot of people) don't think about that stuff when watching a movie ... we just want a good movie. And more to that point, it's not that I like movies starring mostly men, I just like movies. Simple as that :) But like I said, that's me and how I approach it. Thanks for answering and helping me see your pov :)

JC

I would encourage you to ask more women whether a movie having more than one well written female character in the movies they watch is important to them. I get why men don't generally think about this, they don't have to. But I can't imagine that there are many women movie lovers out there who don't even think about it. That's only a luxury that the people who have been not just represented, but spotlighted for 100+ years, have.

Paweł Kaczmarek (Pavel Catch-mahr-eck)

Oh, I talk to women about movies and tv all the time and the topic never came up, even during specific discussions about characters :) Online and in real life btw If there were NO well written female characters out there then yeah - it would be a serious problem. But drama, comedies, horror movies - all those have plenty of well written female characters. Horror especially I would say is a good example. A vast majority of the best horror movies out there centered around either a female character or the spread was equal :) Do you genuinely believe there's a single guy out there who would prefer the Conjuring movies if they were only focusem around Ed Warren? :)

Reggie Riobe

I don't want to sound crazy or anything like that but I cant find your reaction to this masterpiece..... Am I missing something ?
