HARRY POTTER REUNION WATCHALONG !!

Comments

Wanted to say, I haven't been commenting, but I've been here watching the entire time. I have physical DVDs and Bluerays of the entire series at home, so I've been watching with them. I literally always cry to this reunion special. These original movies hold a special place in my life. I was 3 years old when the first movie came out, and 13 when the last one came out. I started with the movies, and didn't read the books until around 2016 or so (although I knew people in middle and high school that read the books). But that's why I never cared that much about the very few things that were cut from the movies, because the movies are executed so well that they stand on their own and are very powerful, and the themes and messages come through very well. I'm not going to talk about the author, but only to say that I have such mixed feelings about someone who wrote something that gave me so much comfort throughout my entire childhood, only for them to cause so much harm in my adulthood. I try to separate the story from them, because the story ultimately transcends them. Frankly, I'm not interested in the TV show. The original movies may not be 100% perfect, but they still hold up even to this day, and that is thanks to how much practical sets were used throughout the series, but especially the early movies. I personally don't think the TV show is justified, and won't actually change that much because the movies are already very close to the books anyways. In addition, the TV show will never have all the iconic amazing actors, both adults and kids at the time, that made the movie series the legacy that it is today. Anyways, I'm so glad you guys watched the series, and this anniversary. And yes, the fanbase does love Neville as much as you do :)
