It’s not a huge deal but I feel like Patreon watchalongs should be prioritized over YouTube edited reactions? Often I see the YouTube reactions up immediately and then the paying Patreon members have to usually wait hours or even the next day. Feels backwards

Greg and Coy in response to the video you guys did on the lanterns hate you guys are getting. That sounds so frustrating! And clearly the responses online are getting to you guys and I can only imagine what you guys have to deal with from audiences day to day with the platforms that you have. And I have so much empathy for that. However I did want to say that by talking like this, responding in this way, calling people names etc, you’re not only showing that these comments are getting to you both (which is exactly what these bots want) you are stooping down to their level. I really admire this channel, listen to you guys all the time, but when you guys treat the people that disagree with you (even though I STRONGLY disagree with these bots on twitter too) you both risk becoming the very people you hate on the internet. You risk becoming no better than they are. What can make channels like these so great is their ability to see the grey, the complexities and in-between in such a black and white, us-them society, but right now what I’m hearing doesn’t sound entirely different from Nerodic and all those other channels—just on the other side. I mean this all as constructive criticism and appreciate you guys so much!! I just know ya’ll are better than this.

Yeah it's a bit odd. Like my first instinct when I see the reaction to something go up on youtube is to think "oh cool then surely the full length stuff is up on patreon" but it usually isnt

All I know is that the Site Watchalongs actually take a lot longer to produce than any of the other ones....I'm pushing to get the Time Code Versions released more quickly (same time or roughly thereabouts) Although techncially speaking the unedited watchalongs ARE the perk, not necessarily getting it early? But we always do our best and try to get new ones out as quickly as we can and older catalogue stuff out a day or so in advance - PLD

They are helping u out its a desire to watch but the real reason is u guys are missing out on $$ viewers and subs because of something like this. We love yall but its just operating in a way your hurtin yourself more then us. I would def focus on getting out the time code raw with the same time as youtube video as the decoding and rendering on that is quite low. Should be relatively easy to restructure those releases. For every one person who comments their disappointment there are 20-30 people who feel the same way that dont. 90-100 people and their subscriptions feeling less worth it, i know this cause i feel same way and i been patreon member here for years again we all understand and love yall and what you provide❤️

While I see where you’re coming from, I have some disagreements. We can all tell the Reel Reject crew loves film and the industry as a whole, and they want to see creators succeed. The content creators like Nerdrotic farm negative engagement, and feed off it like a cancer. These types of creators see a woman or person of color in a leading role and cry and piss their pants. They are nothing but coddled cry-bullies. I agree that it’s nice to see the grey in issues, but it’s also ok to speak up and aggressively push back on uneducated beliefs. Sometimes things in society are just black and white, and need to be called out. That will come with a risk of losing some of your audience, but that’s a calculation the creator has to make. Greg and Coy’s live streams are one of, if not my favorite pieces of content on the channel. They can make all kinds of edgy jokes, but not for a second do you feel like they’re coming from a place of hate or prejudice. At the same time, they give incredibly thoughtful and sometimes emotional takes on how a certain film has impacted them. So when a chatter comes in after that and says “meh but this character was a different race in the comics”, I think it’s justified for them (probably Coy lol) to get heated and call them (and that type of sub-50 IQ take) out.
