Michael Myers returns to Haddonfield with a vengeance, bringing along bizarre cult lore, brutal kills, and peak Paul Rudd energy in one of the wildest entries in the entire franchise. The relentless autumn atmosphere and pure 90s slasher chaos kept us reacting the entire way through this bloody ride. Queue up the movie, hit play, and experience the mayhem of the Thorn curse right along with us!

EDIT 2 - Thanks to Thorn the Beep Virus, the disconnect has been discovered. The crew watched "The Producer's Cut" on Amazon. Only it seems that Amazon screwed up and even though it's labeled The Producer's Cut, it actually plays the Theatrical Cut. Unfortunately we can't put the genie back into the bottle. We apologize folks. - PLD

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (PRODUCER'S CUT) (1995) (Jackie & Jon) - WATCHALONG

This version is...different. The theatrical version isn't as confusing when first watching it. The producer's cut definitely dives deeper into the story and you get get to see Loomis more so that's good 👍 EDIT: after watching the reaction, this is the THEATRICAL version. But I think this is better to watch at first as it's a little less confusing than the Producer's cut which dives deeper and darker into the story. Can't wait for the Halloween H20 reaction!

This is so disappointing, they watched the wrong cut. This is the confusing THEATRICAL CUT which runs at around 88 min NOT THE PRODUCER'S CUT. The real Producer's Cut runs 96 minutes & is labeled as such on YouTube & Prime Video as both cuts are easily available. I was really hoping they get it right this time as it was promised on their announcement. Nobody on the team double checked they watched the right version. I was really looking forward to this reaction for OVER a week (after it got delayed ) for this version alone. I don't know how hard it was to just make sure they watched the right cut. I bet Jackie & Jon were completely confused from beginning to end & had a very rough (& waste of) time sitting through this one. Which is what many of us were trying to avoid considering how incomprehensible the theatrical cut is on the questions left by Halloween 5. The real Producer's Cut was essential as a better viewing experience overall for both.

This is the theatrical cut……..

This is the theatrical cut

SO I don't know what the disconnect is. They absolutely watched the producer's cut. I've seen a screenshot and the Amazon account was checked. For some reason the editors couldn't sync it up with the producers cut and somehow the theatrical cut was easier to sync with? We're trying to hook up with the editors to see what exactly happened. They definitely watched the producer's cut though. - PLD

I'd probably put the blame on Amazon. They're notorious for mislabeling movies.

Thorn the Beep Virus

The disconnect is that the "Producer's Cut" on Prime/Amazon for rental is actually the theatrical cut, mislabeled. It's an issue on the streamers' end and it's been that way for a while. Unfortunately the only reliable way to make sure you see the Producer's Cut is on physical media.

thereelrejects

Well unfortunately they watched it on Amazon and it was labeled the Producer's Cut. We can't put the genie back in the bottle. We apologize. -PLD

Thorn the Beep Virus

Yeah haha maybe just someting to put a little onscreen notice about in the highlights version on YT so the audience isn't equally confused lol

thereelrejects

Yeah I've made that suggestion. Hopefully have time to shoot a little disclaimer or at least put it in the description! Thanks for the heads up! - PLD

Sorry for the disappointment. I get it. I'm a huge horror guy and Halloween guy...and I understand how much better the Producer's Cut is! - PLD

Maybe there could be a little bonus video either before they watch the Remake or after watching both Remakes? Maybe im being too selfish or asking too much. But doesn't hurt to ask i guess. By the way i apologize for my previous comment. I bought the real Producer's Cut from Prime Video last year & i still have it on my library as i just watched it this morning to see if i was going crazy & misremembering things. I think they recently updated it the 4k & 1080p masters for all Halloween films on their platform using the remasters done by Shout! Factory for the first 8 films 4k UHD/ Blu-ray set & replaced their previous old stream masters. Unknowingly also putting the wrong cut in its place. I was actually under the impression that they removed the theatrical cut instead. So i assumed they still had the Producer's Cut. This is the one. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XA09LOffdMw I would pay an extra subscription fee for a reaction of this cut so bad lol btw happy weekend to everyone on the Reject Nation!

(In case my other comment is missed) Is there any possible way that there could be a little bonus video either before they watch the 2007 Remake or after watching both Rob Zombie Remakes? Maybe im asking too much, but if they need to get paid more for their extra time to do another shoot, let me know & I'll do it lol. But hopefully it doesn't hurt to suggest it once more. While I appreciate the passion and wish we could make it work - we're just so tightly scheduled and it still wouldn't be a first time view so it honestly wouldn't be the same. Appreciate the apology but it isn't needed...we hate it too! - PLD

Well, hopefully they can be notified about this human mistake so their confusion gets cleared off. Maybe suggesting they watch Dead Meat's video which compares both versions & their most pivotal differences on their own time. It's called " Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) CUT COMPARISON" https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DJ19bXJcjgI I think it's safe to recommend the theatrical cut for both Remakes tho. Halloween 2007 for the removal of "that" quite disturbing scene (IYKYK) & Halloween 2 2009 for being a more "relaxed" & less nihilistic viewing experience for a first time watch. Tho i do think the director's cut of Halloween 2 is quite interesting for its take on PTSD & as the final film on the Rob Zombie timeline, such a guilty pleasure of mine. That's another case where a movie feels completely different on both cuts.

Honestly i think Jackie would have cried through the whole thing if they watched the producers cut. This was a more fun reaction to watch because the theatrical cut isn’t as depressing.
