Virtual Burlesque (Patreon)

If you're a fan of live performance, you may have noticed a rise in live-streaming shows. Instagram live, Zoom, Facebook live. Even in quarantine, the human race will find a way to keep creative expression and the arts alive. Maybe now more than ever. And how cool is it that we live in an age where there's so many ways to stay connected and inspire each other.

I had the opportunity to film an act for Subculture Cabaret as part of a virtual festival and I'm so excited to share it with y'all! I had to pick music that was public domain, which was a huge challenge for me. This was the track that resonated with me most, at that moment. It's called Blue Spaces by Oakwood Station. The first visual that came to mind was a back lit fan dance, and I love the way the sunlight spills into my apartment. I also couldn't help but showcase a couple of my plant babies. I've thought about doing a striptease that features all of them one day.

I did two takes back to back. once I had everything set up just right. My final take was my official submission! Do you think I made the right choice?

Enjoy!
