Lisa’s label LLOUD signed a contract with RCA Records (subsidiary of Sony Music Ent.) for her releases, therefore it is distributed as a music of an US artist, which means reactions might get fully blocked really easily and unless something changes, this will apply for her solo career from now on 😬

The fact that Lisa helped composed and write this song, I think that’s why it feels so Lisa. She finally has a say in who she as an artist and performer and it shines in this song and video.

As much as I agree with you about the MV showing Lisa's personality, we have to consider that Money was never supposed to have a MV since it was the bside and only got a performance video cause it went insanely viral.

i think the girls establishing their own solo companies (except for Rosie) opens up so many cool opportunities for them to really enhance and explore their personal colour. it’s just sad that we won’t be able to see that same progression with “BLACKPINK” as a whole, because if there’s one thing yg likes, it’s sticking to the yg formula. im so excited for the girls and all the possibilities but i can’t help but wonder how much more SICK it would be if a blackpink mv was edited like rockstar. or even, if half as much thought went into what would bring out their group color the most? blackpink are a pretty versatile group so it’s disappointing that they’re 8 years into their career, and can only explore different styles as solo artists. anyway, keep the solos coming!! jennie, where you at??

I understand you wanted to compare Rockstar to her previous solo under YG, but wouldn’t be better to compare it to Lalisa? Money was only a performance video, but Lalisa got proper music video, which I would say captured her personality really good. There is even a section (both music and video-wise) which pays an homage to Thailand… I agree Rockstar music video is a perfect embodiment of who Lisa is. But I would say that about Lalisa music video too. Rockstar is just not holding back at all, which might not be because of creative freedom, but because of Lalisa being her debut, whereas this is a comeback
