Finally!! I’ve been waiting for this reaction 🥹🥹 This song has been stuck in my head all day. This debut couldn’t have been any more perfect and I’m so proud of Rui, Wumuti and Haru. Also a big fan of the new member Hyun and his voice.

the first part of the chorus is definitely not my favorite but it has grown on me but the drop into the 2nd part is so satisfying

I have been obsessed with this song for days and I'm so glad you love the song!! Also I discovered that Rui idolises Ten from Wayv and I totally see it in that drop and the leg movement near the start of the video. Hyun has caught my attention so quickly, like I adore his vocal tone so much. So excited to see the direction of this group in the future 🫶🏻

The styling is immaculate I need to see the reference board immediately and I love the tailoring and cut on everyone it feels so vibrant and DEDICATED to the groups concept and debut, I can feel the thought and work put into the garments not just putting it on bc it looks cool or is trendy, I can feel the customization and appreciate the different silhouettes

This is exactly what I want to see from a smaller budget team, now ik they had some decent money from the graphics and set but! It feels like they went above and beyond to pull the creativity out of the few set pieces they had which shouldn’t work, gray walls and box sets aren’t new but it works in their favor with their concept of bringing color and breaking out of the norms of society AND the shot choice to shoot them from behind was ELECTRIFYING and having the peak of gendered norms, high school, being faceless spectators ogling but not impressed by their performance of themselves in a genderLESS manner I just wow so inspired

This is clearly a passion project and just when I thought I couldn’t have more respect for Wumuti, he pops off with this producing home run of a debut from their sound to the lyrics and just immediately having the group with a strong identity sets them apart so much

Hyun (tall, green crop with fur hood) is the member that didn’t have public appearances prior to this, but he still was totally grabbing my attention in this song, first of all what a COLORFUL vocal tone I love it, and that bridge into the last chorus is one of my favorite parts, but also he has a unique presence that really impressed me, his acting with his eyes showing that oh he has that IT thing for idols

The way I clicked SO fast!! I am currently obsessed with this debut it’s giving taemin and a lot of the moves actually remind me of girl group moves, especially in the dance practice so I hope you can react to that!

even tho the song itself isn't quite my taste (to be precise, the prechorus really threw me off and the chorus didnt hit as hard for me), i appreciate this debut so freaking much!!! this group is insane!!! the choreo! the visuals! the wow factor! very charismatic unique looking members as well! i will def keep an eye on them and hopefully there will be a song that will get me obsessed with them hehehe

Went into this group expecting for Rui to be my bias but now I'm OBSESSED with Hyun. What an amazing debut, I'm glad they've been getting a good amount of attention because I'm already so excited for a comeback.

i'm so glad you reacted to this debut! LOVE the song and the group is AMAZING. the concept has a lot of visual binaries - black and white of the chessboard, two doors marked "exit", school uniforms vs the androgynous styles they are wearing in other scenes etc... there is also a clear "we are performers and you are the audience" scene when they're dancing in front of classmates with their backs turned to US, the actual (heh) audience. except, of course, gender itself is a performance, and those who don't see this are still asleep (like in that early shot of the classroom). OH - and the negative shot, with the four of them on the "chessboard" and wumuti fallen to the ground and then absent from the next shot of the same space - i think that was an acknowledgment of those who defy gender norms but are tragically destroyed by their social environment (a chess piece does not fall by itself, it is knocked over). but they deliberately show a happy ending in their music video - i think it's implied that wumuti points at a third door and then they all finally walk/fly out into freedom. aaaaaahhhh i am just SO HAPPY to see this concept done so thoughtfully at the start of 2025!!!

btw i'm really curious about the shot of the schoolkids sitting against the wall with their faces blurred/pixilated... is that the way kids are shown in the SK news, especially if it's negative coverage like bullying and such?

Hi pd, can i also recommend onlyoneof! You’ve reacted to them a couple times but they have a whole solo project ‘undergrOund idOl’ where every member released a song with a music video and they all involve lgbt themes, with correlating stories. Both songs and music videos are genuinely beautiful too. Thank you for reacting to this!

Haru is also from Boys Planet and was an insane hip-hop dancer that didn't get a lot of screentime (he battled against Jeong Minyu in Street Boys Fighter), Hyun is like a hidden card for them because he is the only unknown member of this group, but he is insanely talented. There are some other Boys Planet groups/solos you have missed out on: Better known groups Ampers&One (Kamden, Brian, Jiho) TIOT (Minseoung, Keonhee, Junhyeon, Woojin) TOZ (Haruto, Anthonny, Takuto, Yuto) These ones would definitely be worth checking out Mildly known solo or groups LE'V (Wang Zihao) ONLEE (Seunghwan) B.D.U. (Jay Chang) Waterfire (Wumuti) These ones would be nice to check out Less known or more indie LOONG9 (Ollie, Chen Liang) CongB (Cong) KJRGL (Riku, Hojin) Chen Jianyu (Jianyu) 3WAY (Wooseok) I wouldn't mind it you skipped these Some people will also debut like POLARIX (Daeul) Close Your Eyes (Yeojun, Ma Jingxiang) Newkies (Honghai) And some are still competing in a show called Universe League Cha Woongki and Zhang Shuaibo Also, you missed the fact that Hyunmin of ARrC is Hyunbeen of Boys Planet but i don't blame you for that. That means that all of Jellyfish (Hyunbeen, Gunwook, Yuseop and Yeojun) have debuted

I absolutely loved this debut! Kuanjui / Rui was my onepick, so I'm really happy to finally see him get his chance. I really recommend checking out a live stage to really see the choreography points, if you have the time at any point! Rui's dance training is really utilized.
