Only 2.5hr for a survival show finale? MNet could NEVER! 😂

nekoyangicat

that crash out was valid 😂

dreamerie

PDnim you’re the first person to say that AHOF name was so dope and well-planned😭 I remember everyone was gagging at the name at that time😂

Ivan Mateo_FOHA

I’m just on the beginning part of part 1 and I’m already laughing my ass out HAHA

Namjoonie

you can calm down now joohyung and kairi will debut soon

day_spidey

Universe is that song for me, my most listened UL song

mikasa

Love team rythm but groove and beat’s finale song is soooo good.

Aine

We were SO spoiled, SIX more original songs for the finale?? And 5/6 of them I absolutely adore (@TAG is just not my vibe, as were most Team Rhythm songs). I love how El Capitxn just said, "fuck variety, I'm going to produce the dreamiest most wonderful songs for my son Woongki!" 😆

Lai

I thought the same. I got into AHOF without any idea about Universe League. I checked them out because I got curious when they beat Aespa on a music show. I dived into UL late. I thought this was Team Groove’s best stage, and I liked it better than the other two teams. It was clean and soulful, and the members’ vocals were so good. I liked their members, but somehow it wasn’t just about them. Team Rhythm’s dynamics are just built different. I was unsure about how Seo Jeong Woo, Woongki, and Park Han would fit into the team.. like it might look forced, knowing the three came from different groups, but their team chemistry worked out really well.

sunlightjoan

crashing out within 10 minutes of the episode. LUUUV IT LOL

howltthew

now that it’s been a year i can know laugh while empathizing with the “mourning of an debuted group” it was sooooooo hard to move on from them especially after hearing all the behind the scenes moments the groove members shared. they were really a family 🥹 2 days after the finale, Changsub gathered all groove members, with park han and seo jeongwoo, and sirin and all those who were consistently in groove for a dinner. They went to a very good restaurant. Also Changsub and the final Groove Team Members kept wearing the groove bracelets like months after the show they only stopped using it after each got broken (due to them never taking it off). Also Groove members said that Changsub really was their father figure, they can just go and see him when they need advice or encouragement. They still contact him even after the show. They even came to Changsub’s Encore concert in Korea and he introduced Groove Team as his sons from his heart. Also after the show there were multiple fanmeetings if the undebuted members — Kyungho, Heejun, Hanseo, Jinho ,and Joohyoung created Team Great (GRoove+bEAT) for the first Korean Fanmeeting, then another Team Great Fanmeeting in Japan. but the members there were Kyungho, Heejun, Jinho, Joohyoung, and Kairi. Kyungho Heejun and Jinho are in the same company right now. Joohyoung is redebuting in a new group called Daily:Direction. Kairi is also redebuting in a Japanese Boygroup called TAGRIGHT along with former TO1 member Daigo. I’ve been waiting until this last ep to share about the updates on the non-ahof members

No hate towards any of these groups, but I feel like the "oh hi i'm this person/group" energy came from HYBE's influence in the past few years with Newjeans, Illit, TWS, BND. Their music used to be a lot more toned down than the K-pop we were used to before. I even dare say HYBE tried to make K-pop groups do pop songs, which is okay I guess, but the magic of K-pop is that it is supposed to be boundary pushing and experimenting with different sounds and concepts. The whole reason most people turn into K-pop fans is because they are sick and tired of the sound we are producing in the west. To give my own experience on this topic: I used to be burned out by the time The Weeknd became the biggest artist with Blinding Lights, that song was everywhere, and to me it was just really bland and not enjoyable, while the whole world was like "this is a masterpiece". so I turned to K-pop where I discovered so much more styles and genres I'd either never heared of, or really enjoyed. Like the road from NCT 127's Kick it to SKZ Miroh to ATEEZ Wonderland made me instantly a fan of the genre. (Another song I got so tired off I wanted to throw a radio out of the window for was "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry, that legit followed me everywhere.)

Also I think I know why you absolutely love the Groove team, like you said, 2nd gen was all about desperation. Those guys were the oldest group among the 3 with members being idols/trainees for a very long time. They are so desperate to debut, that I think they might have forgotten to also have some fun. They should have learned a bit from team Rhythm and Beat on that matter, like the team was so on edge i felt all the time.

Form of Therapy

When a show gives as much as it breaks our hearts at the end… that‘s a good show

Form of Therapy

This show might have had some of the best songs from a survival show ever

Form of Therapy

Also these six songs (aside from Rhythm) had so much soul???? The quality of the music was INSANE

Form of Therapy

Hard agree. I literally didn‘t like half of Team groove‘s members and by the end fell In love with them. They definitely had this “underdog” energy

Form of Therapy

“NAN NEO YA NEO” and “NA NEUN NEO YA” literally the same lyrics interpolated, same team, and both songs smacked

Form of Therapy

NOT TOGETHER. NOT WITH WOONGKI AND PARK HAN. iTS NOT tHE SAMEEE

Form of Therapy

Bruh it‘s clever though!!! A name that actually fits with the show, AND it has a double meaning. Come on. I love them but WHAT WAS IZ*ONE. ZEROBASEONE. We jumped hurdlES to give those names a “meaning”

Form of Therapy

For MNet that’s the length of their filler in the finale

Aine

While I think their previous show Universe Ticket wasn't as good (being the guinea pig first season, they tried to be more like a typical svs to middling results), the one thing the Universe series highlighted was the emphasis on original songs by real kpop producers. UniTicket had about 11 original songs (including the TWO signal songs), and League had 16 including their signal song.

Sven Lenders

PD, what has been in your coffee recently? Kairi is a Japanese name, how did you not know?

Sven Lenders

I think Beat was the real underdog tho, but I must say, in this finale, they had a chance with these members

fern

PD every time EL CAPITXN appears lmaoo

Sven Lenders

Kim Dongyun kinda reminds me of Park Doha in a weird way

tamkan

i was so sad that team groove wasnt the winning team.. i loved them the most T_T changsub did the best as mentor

Sven Lenders

I think I've never went from disgusting someone to adoring someone as fast as Shuaibo

Namjoonie

after ul i was also hurt that joohyung hanseo and kairi didn't debut as much as kairi's improvement in the last mission later i also accepted after ahof debut as long as park han debuted after 7yrs trainee.

Alex

never notice they sang Monster by Seventeen in this ep, funny

Alex

I totally get you Sven. I also got tired of west music, i still listen to some songs, but theres not a single western artist at the moment that i follow or anything. Kpop brought some variety sound for me, and i always loved groups (one direction, fifth harmony, big time rush, now united), so kpop really became a home for me

Alex

Honestly Rhythm had the most modern kpop sound songs in the whole show, and it suited them very well, but Beat and Groove had the best songs for me in every ep, which is crazy now realizing that team Rhythm won and El Capitan is producing a total different sound for them, similar to Groove and Beat sound

Alex

Watching this ep again after a whole year since the show ended, i remember everyone suggesting to debut Rhythm, Groove and Beat as three separate groups, i agree, everyone here is so so good

Aine

And I am thankful every day that El Capitxn decided to take such a prominent producing role in the debut team. I know eventually he will likely take a step back but he has already established such a strong sonic identity for them that I'm not too worried for the future.

Jajjers

Im just at the first 10mins of this episode and PDnim crashing out is sending me 😭😂😂😂😂

Nani

Tag JL is a beast. Still watch his fancam of it. Rhythm, to me appeals the most because of their team synergy and how you can see how they enjoy the performances. Plus, of course, JL. I love this team concept and I think there's a future svs that is doing the same team concept soon. Also, like others, love your crash out. Though they did say in the beginning that this is a team battle.

jessie

This show has been so refreshing and awesome, the concept was really strong and actually made sense. They didn’t drag stuff out and used suspense purposefully for the impactful moments. I’ve greatly enjoyed all the original music for the performances it takes the show to a whole other level of quality, team groove especially ✨ I’m with you PD about what kpop is like now vs how it used to be. I also appreciated how little they focused on Jay Park and let him do a great job, he was mostly a voice and they hardly even showed him on camera whereas on mnet they make a huge fanfare about the MC. Yugyeom and El Capitan were constant sources of gender envy. Changsub please adopt me 🙏

@yakuydo

Waiting for your reaction to AHOF’s 2 mini albums.

mikasa

Yes! In no particular order but the survival shows that set ny standard on original songs are UL, Boys planet, girls planet 999, I-Land & Produce X 101. I would love for you to react on PDX101 someday even solely for the original songs because it was amazinggg.

Ellieee

I'm rooting also to Joohyoung to debut. If its based on finale voting, he was in top 9.

mommyAbby9️⃣

I think one of the reasons I rooted for Team Rythm (although I am Hani biased) is because of their strong team chemistry. Which is also evident now with AHOF. Hani and Woongki greatly helped with the chemistry, variety and color of the group. Everyone shines on their own but when together they’re a force to be reckoned!

howltthew

alsooo idk if you noticed but Jung Ilhoon was credited in the lyrics of Universe huhu my 7TOB 🥹 I'd like to believe that Universe was once a candidate for BTOB's album

Aine

I cried ugly tears when I saw that 🥹

Noodle

i was laughing so hard when you remarked, “why do they look so different today?” when the scene cut to the dugout with the directors 🤣

atp_winmetawin

ahof cover song of dynamite and way4luv pls 😭😭😭😭

Sakura Misaki

love your reaction hahaha specially the part when u realized all your picks will not make it in AHOF

Sakura Misaki

i love how stressed you are HAHAHHHA

Cristina

i feeeelll you.. my TOTGA …Kairi, Joohyung and Hanseo!!!!!ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ but for those who is voting that time it’s kinda giving tbvh..the strategic voting war that time is wow plus all the rumors here and there 😅😅😅
