Are u going to listen to p1’s new ep soon? Unique

It is not only that poppop is superior (to Colorful or anything), but this song was made to be in Japanese! To me the chorus fits Japanese phonetics more and in general the song has such a J-Pop vibe.

I agree their Korean releases get a better care. Although… it might be influenced by the poppop mini album, because for example the previous summer Colorful mini album is on the same level as this one (for me). But even from their first studio album I can only point out Nasa (excluding singles which were already released), which is also a thing… We finally got Japanese mini album, but right before their Korean studio album which is coming soon and will be promoted way more. I do not even mind them having less Japanese releases, when your “product” is doing well on a certain market, you will not go like: “We should focus on something else, not this market!” The only thing I want is SM to be taking their Japanese releases with high standard if it is once in a while. Like if this was like poppop mini album but in Japanese, I would be like: “Okay! Keep me waiting if this is what I am going to get from their Japanese discography” But so far it feels like SM even does not want them to be a Japanese unit and they are like a “younger group” to Riize as NCT 127 had NCT Dream (excluding the cross-over factor of HaeChan and Mark…) and so SM simply “force” themself to give them a Japanese release just for the sake of it and then continues to focus on their Korean career.

2026-10-07 15:00 Also… I did not mean to betray you by reminding you of this comeback 😅😅 I just thought you should miss it, since who knows when we get another Japanese release plus if this was the Japanese comeback for them, I doubt SM plans to pay attention to their Japanese discography…

This album is very J-pop compared to their usual K-Pop releases. They also promote a ton in Japan, so they are very much a japanese unit in NCT. SM has been very intentional about their korean and japanese releases and branding.

Really? (Regarding promotions in Japan) I must have missed something. Obviously they tour there, but it is not like they would perform as much as J-Pop acts in those dedicated theatres

honestly i LOVE this album especially Bubble Gum

i really like the Songs ZONE: Dreamcatcher and Someday. Hellow Mellow is also a good song but def not a strong or impactful Title track; it's still very Wish and fit the dreamy aesthetic. I also think that "Dreamcatcher" could have been a NCT DREAM Song. It is Wish-coded, but even more DREAM-coded in my opinion.

Just want to say that it's not SM handling their JP promotions, it's Avex Trax. They have a different A&R team if you compare the credits written on their JP albums vs their KR albums, which is why their Japanese and Korean releases sound different. And it's also why their Japan releases sound more Jpop (they have Japanese A&R for their Japanese releases). But tbh, I think Japan market who are into Kpop don't want Jpop-sounding songs, they want it to sound Kpop, which is probably why NCT WISH isn't that popular yet in Japan as in Korea. If they get more popular over there, they'll have more Japanese activities. They also aren't just a Japanese unit since they debuted both in Korea and Japan at the same time. They're a Japanese-Korean unit, so they have to juggle both Japanese and Korean promotions at the same time.

That is true, although SM is still the company, who overlooks everything. Avex Trax is just a label representing them in Japan, but it is not like SM would not know anything about their Japanese career as if it was solely up to Avex Trax. It is rather a contract deal between these two labels, since it is easier for SM to have Avex Trax helping them in this market.
