killua can’t stay with gon because he can’t protect both gon and alluka simultaneously. gon needs protection too and if they happened to be in danger while they’re together, killua would have to choose alluka over gon. he also hasn’t spent much time with his sister so he wants to give his full attention to her before he starts hanging out with gon again.

yeahhhh, VERY bittersweet. which, if you recall from post Heaven's Arena, Killua said he'd stay w Gon until he found his dad and Killua will try to find something he wanted to do w his life! so both Gon found his dad and Killua found his purpose (in protecting his sister) and tbh... i really didn't like that Koala part, lol. he talks for SO long and it's so rambling (to me)

ALSO: if you need a new anime to fill in the space i HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend My Hero Academia!! i think you'd like it a lot, i love the way it handles it's themes of heroism and strength. it really does a good job imo of deconstructing (and playing into) the typical Shonen tropes

I had no context going into the show and up until the end that the anime ended or caught up to the manga that went on hiatus so I remember being sat like okay I’m ready for the big ending to wrap everything and everyone’s story up—and then Gon and Killua say goodbye and Kurapika still hasn’t shown up in the penultimate and the core four aren’t together again right right “SO YOU HATE ME” is what i was thinking when i first watched this and had to do some thorough digging to understand why this happen and briefly considered picking up the manga, then I thought about the chimera arc, and I thought oh nope don’t want to read through the graphic organ and head ripping again I’m good; but yeah the fact that Hisoka is just OUT THERE doing shit and Gon still hasn’t properly fought him, IM WORRIED!!! Yes it’s good to feel like the world is breathing and living outside the main characters but if we could have this specific issue settled I’d be a lot more at ease 😅

Also if we’re looking for replacements, DanDaDan season 2 is there for shounen fill or Spy Family new season for good vibes!!

Me: Why did Killua leave gon? Google Gemini: Killua leaves Gon to protect, cherish, and travel with his younger sister, Alluka Zoldyck, after realizing he had become too dependent on Gon and needed to establish his own life's purpose. This separation allowed Killua to move away from his past as an assassin and his intense, sometimes unhealthy attachment to Gon, while ensuring Alluka's safety from the Zoldyck family. Key reasons for their separation include: Protecting Alluka: After saving Gon, Killua’s primary focus shifted to keeping Alluka safe, as she had been neglected and trapped by their family. A Need for Autonomy: During the Chimera Ant arc, Killua realized that his life was revolving entirely around Gon. Leaving allows him to break this intense dependency and develop his own, independent path. Emotional Divergence: The friendship hit a point where the two needed space. Killua needed to pursue his own happiness, while Gon had reached his goal of meeting his father. Guilt Redemption: Killua felt immense guilt for using his sister to save Gon, and dedicating his life to her is his way of atoning for that selfishness. Despite parting ways, they remain best friends who have promised to always stay in touch, marking a mature step forward rather than a permanent end to their friendship

There are many episodes in the manga after this, and i also hope the mangaka continues where they left 😿 and hopefully the anime resumes
