Coming up in May we need a new anime club replacement!

After several years the Hunter x Hunter journey has come to a close but with that opens up a brand new slot for a new anime club show. Plus, in the coming months I'll be adding a 3rd anime club show soon.

I'll be running a poll with a few shows in mind from our Discord server but if you've got any other suggestions?

Already being considered for the poll:

Oshi No Ko Season 1

Spy x Family Season 3

Gachiakuta Season 1

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3

My Hero Academia Season 1

Daemons of the Shadow Realm Season 1

BANANA FISH PD!!! It's a short 1 season anime but it changed my fucking life!

Teagan

I think Violet Evergarden would be a great addition!

Fai

The Summer Hikaru Died! It’s a really wonderful horror/drama that deals with grief, lgbtq identity, and creepy ghosts/eldritch beings. So far one entire season is out with 12 episodes, but a second season is coming. It’s such an amazing show, the animation is so beautiful and the overall quality of the show is top notch in every way. I would highly highly recommend it!

D. Gray Man Fairy Tail Black Butler Reincarnated as a Slime Sunday Without God

Your lie in April!! Such a fantastic show especially since it’s April!

Haniel

my hero!!

Gachiakuta was LIIIIIIT I recommend that. But I’ve saved watching season 3 of spy family to watch it with you PD. :)

AsaiRen

Oshi no ko is a fire choice. If you want something light/comedic Id recommend Mashle (a magic-less buff guy infiltrate s a magic academy using his muscles as "magic"). If you want to cry a lot, To Your Eternity (follows an immortal main character). If you want another longer series... Gotta throw Gintama in the ring. Oh, and idk how to describe this other than it being a dystopian mecha military anime but I personally really liked eighty-six.

madi

im going to be an outlier and say the apothecary diaries i just think its so good

Violet Evergarden Apothecary Dairies

jae wambits

Put all of my como on Oshi no ko. But other great anime i would recommend. 1. Reincarnate as a slime(world building) 2. Apothecary diaries(medicine drama) 3. Mob 100(comedy) 4. Konosuba (isekai comedy) 5. lycoris recoil(drama) 6. The eminence in shadow(isekai parody) Number 6 is a tough one. U have to really well into isekai genre for the comedy take a full effect. Its a parody of isekai genre. But its a great anime! If you planning to replace HxH. Gintama would awesome. Its a long series like HxH too

Wind Breaker... it has 2 seasons

DanDaDan Season 2 ! Also Delicious in Dungeon/Dungeon Meshi is both feel good/care for yourself +others AND actually interesting takes on fantasy/DnD lore (also genuinely so funny)

WiseSmellyLegs

- Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie In April) - Neon Genesis Evangelion - Vinland Saga - Dragon Ball (in Japanese! The US dub excludes a lot of things, because it is censored a lot) - Shaman King (2021) - One Piece or One Pace (skipping fillers) - Bleach (skipping fillers)

Chouille

I would love you to react to Wind Breaker, Lazarus or Moriarty The Patriot, 3 of my favorite anime (One piece as well but youll be there for a whiiiiile if you do 3 ep per month, then maybe One Piece Kai ? Its the eps (1H~ each) who compile multiple eps without the op/ending and fillers) Wind breaker (2X12 eps, on going) : Haruka Sakura is a high schooler rejected for his unusual appearance and poor social skills. Having grown strong through fighting, he enrolls at Furin High aiming to become the strongest. However, he discovers that his classmates, known as Bofurin, use their strength to protect their town. Initially wary of their kindness, Sakura gradually learns to accept others and fight for their sake. Lazarus 13 eps (completed) : In 2052, the world enjoys peace thanks to Hapuna, a miracle drug created by Dr. Skinner. Three years later, he reveals it will kill everyone who took it. A team of five agents, Lazarus, must find him and create a vaccine before time runs out. Moriarty the patriot (24+2 oavs) : In the late 19th century British Empire, strict class divisions keep power in the hands of corrupt nobility. Albert Moriarty adopts two orphan brothers, including William James Moriarty, who share his hatred for the system. Together, they kill Albert’s cruel brother, assume his identity, and begin a secret mission to dismantle the aristocracy.

Solo Leveling!

Some recommendations based on if you want to watch: - a sports anime with gorgeous visual storytelling -> Tsurune (2 Seasons with a movie with extra stories from season 1) - a sport anime in which mc is an underdog at an elite baseball school -> Ace of Diamond (currently 3 seasons (Act I S1&S2, Act II S1) and the final season is airing right now) - shounen fight anime with a refreshing take on what it means to be human: -> Windbreaker (ongoing with 2 seasons so far) - an anime that explores human emotions through gorgeous dialogue and visual storytelling and makes many people bawl: -> Violet Evergarden (1 Season + 2 Movies)

Let’s do Ouran High School Host Club!

Shira-Ou

violet evergarden for the stunning visuals and heart-touching stories on every episode definitely! Can try something like kimi ni todoke too? following up after haikyuu for more slice of life stuff maybe, but this is more romance though i feel the characters are pretty interesting in how they develop as well

SYFG

Apothecary Diaries pls.... Also a very underrated and old but good is Psycho Pass.

Meruka Hinaru

You and I are Polar opposites has been THE SHOUJO of the year, I truly recommend it, and besides, the second season is coming out in June, so you won't have to wait that long for what's next! Also Apothecary Diaries is a MUST when it comes to mysteries and political drama with a twist in romance, and also it has some of THE BEST openings in my opinion!

zheyu
