10:45 - Wrong… the only place to stop is when the album ends (I am joking… I am just within the first minutes of this video and I am already thankful for releasing it so soon, I knew I would enjoy going through this with you again, thank you!)

28:38 - Dirty Sun is pointing at that ill motherfucker living his party life in Cambodia without a doubt (nothing against Cambodia, SeungRi is known for traveling there or to other countries around and trying to milk his fame there, he even wanted to open a new club there 🙃🙃🙃🙃) Also in Giant he recreated his verse from Loser and combining those verses together creates a full circle story. This album knows no limits!

Upshot

Such a beautiful and special album! There has been some good music this year, but I think this (and perhaps AKMUs album?) has been the most meaningful. Will be listening to it alot. You were asking about our interpretation on the 'Dirty Sun' line, I totally agree with what you said. When I listened to this song first I didn't look at the lyrics, and I even thought he was saying 'Burning Sun' instead. So I think he even pronounced it somewhat ambiguuosly Btw: I know he said goodbye to Bigbang multiple times during this album, but it still made me happy to see GD, TY and DS all promoting this album on IG. And GD basically liking every single post and meme about it. I think in the past TOP said that he feels he had to leave the group because he thought he hurt the team and the members with his scandal, so it's especially touching to see everyone supporting him

1:23:30 - This why I could not let my Pro Dude wait until MAY to do this listening party! Studio54 might not be so personal as the other songs in the first half of the album, but it hits the same for me. Those BIGBANG references hits harder than my mother used to! Speaking of this album being of two parts. From Self Crucifixion to Ovaya it is about his past self & life like BIGBANG era and what happened to him. Then you might have noticed in Zero-Coke and ADHD !!!!!!! female person saying: “Open your eyes” Plus both songs being like two songs in one/having sudden switch up. These two songs are like hand to hand transitions between those two parts/stories/T.O.P himself. In ADHD !!!!!!!! we can hear heart pulsing and him being in hospital, whereas in Zero-Coke it is all dreamy with slightly horror-like/funeral sounding strings. In my opinion Zero-Coke ends the first part in a form of him dying/reaching the after life with his mom or somebody asking him to open his eyes/to keep living. Then we hear the same in ADHD !!!!!!!! but this time he wakes up and things (the reality) hits hard and it gets dark and darker as he invites us to his mind literally asking how is this journey so far as we enter his mind and it being so ADHD/crazy. From Seoul Chaos to Stendhal Syndrome is part, which I would call either “modern T.O.P” or T.O.P, who went through a purgatory in the first half and now he can continue doing music he wants and being the person he wants to be. Because to be fair I can imagine him doing songs like these ones regardless of any context. Be Solid is as if credits at the end of a movie started rolling. Basically an outro to both parts ending this diary of his he shared with us.

WiseSmellyLegs

Now to your words calling me betting my money on T.O.P rejoining them at Coachella a FOOLISH DREAM! Even before this album I did not hope for him to rejoin them for good and participate on a new album and tour with them. I just thought he could appear there to either say properly goodbye, since that is what he would have done in 2020 if COVID hadn’t happened, since we know now he would have left anyway once promotions/tour of the planned album would have ended. Obviously words in this album make it crystal clear he is gone and decided to take a different path. But we have to keep in mind that this album was being made throughout years and he intentionally waited with its drop for this month… That is why I mentioned this album to be his purgatory (something like B.I’s Waterfall, he had to release that album and say all out before he could continue doing something else) and making everything clear to everybody. Like if he joined G-Dragon on a stage or featured on his song before this, everything would have been so weird and confusing. I view this album as a form of his diary covering his whole life (like in Stendhal Syndrome he references his pre-BIGBANG era name Tempo) and even though he still stands by his words, it is not like he made this album a month ago and wanted to diss SeungRi because he got dissappointed in him. As someone else commented, all 3 members shared this album, there is the moon hint in the BIGBANG Coachella teaser and he could have released this album during his Squid Game hype, yet he waited till now. Him appearing at Coachella with them even for encore songs would be a full circle moment of saying: “You all heard the album, you know my story, this is the true end to it, but we are good, we are still chingus, I just want to focus on something else as I would have wanted even if this all drama did not happen & I will unblock WiseSmellyLegs!” Besides other members joining each other’s concerts on day 2 (based on which I made my theory to intentionally choose weekend 2) I also agree with you that teasing us to the very end the most BIGBANG thing to do. Because you know… being an OG BIGBANG/YG Family fan means you have to wait and mentally earn the comeback/event

WiseSmellyLegs

By the way… Stendhal Syndrome samples an older Korean song by SHARP - 연극이 끝난후 (also Stendhal Syndrome’s Korean title is 연극이 끝나고 난 뒤, so it is intentional intentional reference…) I am pointing that out because it is G-Dragon’s favorite song 🫳🏽🎤⬇️ Who is foolish now, huh? https://youtu.be/s3uPXokhpnA?is=E6AVUZ_H6p8bjG33

For me the album and songs work like I listen to them from the start so Self Crucifixion to Seoul Chaos with no stop, it works for me like a long ass ride song. So technically all 7 of them are my favorite ones, but I can tell Self Crucifixion, The Giant, Studio54 and Ovaya I like the most. And then on the second place are Zero-Coke and Another Dimension Holy Dude !!!!!!!! I initially wanted to place Seoul Chaos on the third place, but now writing this I realize it is somewhere between 1st and 2nd place. Then third is Stendahl Syndrome and For Fans. Basically I like the whole album, only Desperado and Be Solid are songs, which had to grow on me. With Be Solid it is tricky, because it is such an outro song, so I listen to it only with the whole album. So with being said Desperado might be the one I have as the last. I like it, but considering I heard it first prior to this album, so I listened to it the most, the growing on me aspect has taken time the most.

WiseSmellyLegs

Also… isn’t it funny that out of BIGBANG members’ solos TaeYang has been properly active the most, yet PD has never done TaeYang listening party? When I found out about this channel, I figured it is not likely to get listening parties to BIGBANG and their solos, since when this channel started there was nothing to react to. But after all those years it all happened (nearly all). Hopefully, TaeYang’s upcoming album happens to be on this channel too!

You ain't human if you weren't a sobbing mess after ovaya. Valid af.

MAAAAAN THANK YOU Yeah what you said bout GD... I thought exactly the same after Another Dimension. I feel like after TOP broke those chains of "IDOL" even tho I always felt his passion and soul, this is the apotheosis... like the nectar like there is nothing that can parasite his intentions! Also in this album you can hear him say sugar-coated in Korean and other similar meaning around the idea that Idols are kinda meant to "please" and yeah as an artist like I always saw TOP and GD, they always used music as an outlet without wanting to please people. At least to me, and yet this album is what I recognise as art just like Kwon Ji-Yong 2017 EP. For Ubermensch, after such a long time and what he's been through as an artist I thought the lyrics and topics would not be filtrated.. I guess that's brave for the both of them, one chose BIGBANG so he don't want to tarnish it more with some crazy topic album, and one is free to talk about it being independent.

This is my first time hopingover from YT and actually joining someone’s Patreon. I had to because I don’t want to listen to just anyone’s reaction to TOP’s masterpiece but I knew you would get it. I first watched you when you reacted to Still Life. I don’t care about any musicians other than the 3+1 members in Big Bang, so I’m not a regular viewer, but I was happy to cry with you today! Thank you for uploading this quickly. GD has always been my favorite but I do have to agree that TOP’s album is just on another level. GD has made several albums though and I was absolutely happy with Ubermensch. GD has struggled a lot, especially in his Motte era. As a fan his Kwon Jiyong EP was hurtful to listen to, so I am thankful that with Ubermensch he was able to let all of that angst go and make something lighter and care free. That is what I wanted for GD at this stage in his life; he had earned that. A feel good album; no longer needing to prove himself. TOP also moved in that direction through his album. I feel like if he releases another one it will be much more upbeat. I laughed when you kept crying and were like “F this guy!” TOP really went and ripped out our hearts. I wrote a comment as soon as I first heard the album, it’s such a rare and precious gift to hear someone’s soul speak. I cry with sorrow and regret but also with pride and happiness that TOP has become strong through everything he has been through. He is a sensitive person and it was all so difficult and so unfair. I really worried for TOP but now I know he’s going to be okay. I’m so thankful. And how lucky are we to get to hear his art?! The album is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Beeleetee86

Haha, and the song came out in 1988 🙌🏻

Beeleetee86

I do agree with you that it is significant that the first songs on the album were likely written years ago. Everyone is taking TOP’s harsh words at face value, which yes, he is very brave for being so blunt, but feelings tend to soften with time. I was actually so shocked that TOP would weave Big Bang references so heavily throughout the entire album. The man who blocks people on IG because he wants absolutely nothing to do with BB. I expected that he’d use this album to completely distance himself by ignoring the past and not looking back yet he did the opposite and proved how closely he’s still tied to BB. I hope that getting all his true feelings out there has helped TOP to heal that hurt he feels when he thinks of BB. I’d like to think that he is on good terms with the other members now and might become close again someday.

Beeleetee86

I’ve always been someone who loves listening to a single song on repeat but not in this case. I must listen to the entire album. It’s a whole trip I have to take from start to finish just as the artist laid out.

Beeleetee86

I’ve only seen a couple people interpret ZERO COKE in that way but I 100% agree. There is definitely a reason TOP put in those long transitions- the beeping of the hospital machines and the whispers, “TOP, TOP, open your eyes…” I also heard a couple people mention that “Zero-Coke” is “sweetness without substance.” Like at that time TOP experienced a departure from reality that seemed sweet and pleasant like unicorns and whatnot, but it wasn’t the resolution he actually sought. It was empty because it wasn’t real. It was like a dream, a sweet escape, but he had to open his eyes and face his life. He had to be the one to do something, to fight to overcome his problems. To start the climb up that big mountain on the cover of the album! I hope people will listen to the album many times and understand it more and more. Even if we interpret his music in different ways, it’s clear TOP was very intentional in putting in many layers of meaning so that it could speak to everyone.

Beeleetee86

As a long time VIP, of course I cried when each of the members of Big Bang promoted TOP’s album. 🥹 God, as much as Another Dimension hurt fans to listen to, imagine what it did to GD, TY, and DS. I reallllly hope they were able to hear it months in advance and did not have to process that pain at the same time as performing their comeback at Coachella. I believe in my heart the four of them are on good terms now and TOP would have wanted them to hear his album first. I hope it was an opportunity for healing because their bond is something they should hold onto for life regardless of professional circumstances. 💛💛💛💛

It was also TOP’s favorite song! He mentioned and posted the song even before GD ever did. And also always talked about a big reason for his depression being that feeling described in the song. Stop the delusions
