In 2025 Plave had 1 mini album and 2 singles, Caligo pt.1, Hide&Seek (JP debut), and then PLBBUU. Iirc they also sang an OST song for a movie by the end of the year 2025. Love your reaction as always😊

I KNEW you will like Hide & Seek! Because this was first their Japanese Debut Title Track (Kakurenbo (Hide&Seek)) and then they added the Korean Version as a counterpart to the Japanese version (with the KR version representing the one hiding and the JP version representing the one seeking) and i think out of all the Japanese debuts by a kpop group i think Hide & Seek is the most Jpop sounding and captures the yearning, youthful shounen-esque vibe well. And you know seeing your reaction to this single album it just solidifies what PLAVE has talked about during the caligo pt.2 press tour. They want to make songs that are easy listening to so they can appeal better to the general audience but still deliver good quality so their fans don’t have to feel ashamed to be fans of them. I also would say Hide & Seek is my fav out of this single album and i’m so happy you enjoyed your PLAVE discography deep dive and can’t wait to see where the road takes you from here on.

Found out lately my best friend doesn't like Pompompurin either, idek what goes on there lol. I do agree with you about PLAVE going above and beyond even on their simplest tunes - they're perfectionists and that always comes through regardless. The version of Hide & Seek on PLBBUU is the Korean version of their Japanese debut single (which came out in June last year) and when you do get around to watching the MVs, know that the main Hide & Seek MV is for the Japanese version and the performance MV uses the Korean version. (And for what it's worth I think it's absolutely worth watching both - PLAVE have fantastic performance MVs!) For reference Caligo Pt 1 came out in early February last year and PLBBUU was November, (hence why they also did a BBUU! Christmas version with extra festive jingle lol) but I seem to recall the members saying they'd recorded one or two of the PLBBUU tracks if not all of them towards the start of the year. I really do believe PLAVE's heart goes into not just their music, but everything they do and show as idols - and I mean as idols full stop, not just with the virtual qualifier. It's part of the reason why their success has felt so deserved and so gratifying to witness. And it really does mean a lot to hear you say you recognise the heart in their music. Thanks for the reaction, and can't wait for you to hear Caligo Pt 2! 🤗

PLAVE has come so far in such a short time. I have also been so impressed not just by PLAVE as musical artists, but by their incredibly hardworking and talented creative team that pushes for fan experience and feedback with each release. It's been really rewarding to be a fan. As someone who took a step back in consuming kpop for a while, PLAVE really felt like coming home with their 2nd/3rd gen sound and hilarious team chemistry. If you didn't know they were virtual idols, you might think they were comedians from their lives.

In the state of art in this time of AI I think it is more important to appreciate the humanness of Plave and of artist in general. We make connections to humans whether it’s through a screen, behind an avatar, or through story telling and that connection is so important. I was at first unwilling to connect to Plave as idol or just musically because I thought they lacked the human aspect but no they just wear a mask on the outside but they are very much human artists underneath. Oh and Hide and Seek blew me away too. It especially felt that was not possible after coming out with Caligo pt.1 but they don’t stop with the bangers. I can’t wait to see your Caligo Pt.2 reaction!
