The name of the girl in the MV is Kim Yeonseo, people asume that she might be part of JYPE next Girl Group.

Tbh i dont love it as much as crescendo but I'm finding that I'm liking their pre-releases more than the titles these days 😅 the song is still gorgeous though and I'll always give props to my girls for releasing music that tells a story

So in NMIXX's lore, all this time they've been heading towards "MIXXTOPIA", hence the boat and spaceship visuals in the past. As the name implies, MIXXTOPIA is supposed to be a utopia that NMIXX leads all who followed to. However, in this MV, they've made it to MIXXTOPIA but find it to be empty (and looking suspiciously like Okinawa). So they start making things out of whatever they can find, the glassy flower, the dolphin, the song, etc. to leave for the girl. The girl represents NSWER finding the creations NMIXX left for her. There's a lot of musical iconography in some of NMIXX's creations, creating notes and whatnot. The main point, regardless of lore, is that NMIXX is creating and/or finding things for the girl who exists in another point of space and time.

THE ALBUM IS AMAZING PD!! They delve into some new and fun genres and it sounds so good

I loved this song immediately. It does surpass Crescendo for me, and after listening to it all week I can say it also surpasses Blue Valentine and Spinnin' On It for me as well. After Blue Valentine, I wasn't sure what direction NMIXX was going to go in. I'm glad to see they remain unwaveringly experimental while also carrying over (and expanding on) the deeply emotional overtones that Blue Valentine first presented to us. Both Crescendo and Heavy Serenade make great use of empty space in the songs, it really helps drive the emotional tension of the narratives to give those impactful moments.

You were actually really close with the lore! This all has to do with their journey to find Mixxtopia. In this era, they find Mixxtopia but find that it is a barren land and not at all what they thought it would be. So, they realize that Mixxtopia doesn't actually exist like they thought but is more about a place that they must give life to. The girl represents the fans and NMIXX are basically gathering up objects and creating things for her to find. You are right in that they are separated by time/space and she's finding the things they left for her. At the end, they record this song and leave it for her and that's what she's listening to. It's like the song that gave the place/planet life. This is like the main idea.

I too am incredibly jealous of the Asia tour dates for coming after the release of Heavy Serenade. I'm going to need them to run the tour back so they can perform it here as well.

It's funny seeing everyone have a similar reaction when they notice the extra girl. She resembles Heejin from ARTMS to me.

i love the song especially the bridge part, i don't get it how a lot of people didn't vibe as much but it is what it is. I feel like this song is 3rd gen coded brought into 5th gen from lyrics to vocals it reminded me a bit of gfriend not with the instrumental but how they sing, the lyrics and the emotions they portrayed. I like the direction they going into instead of abrupt change in the song there is just subtle changes throughout the instrumental which make it seems and sound more smooth.

For me personally Heavy Serenade is my favorite song in the album and might be my SOTY followed by Crescendo. Heavy Serenade was shot in Okinawa Japan and I agree the view was very pretty. The sole lyricist for the song is Hanroro a famous upcoming singer and songwriter who many in Korea calls her a lyric genius. You might of already known about her but I put that information just in case. Hanroro is a huge fan of NMIXX and Haewon is a huge fan of hers so they decided to collab and make Heavy Serenade. There is a short video on the NMIXX channel of Haewon singing with Hanroro a part of Heavy Serenade. Thumbnail is showing Haewon with a white background if you want to check it out.

The lyrics were written by HANRORO and omg its beautiful.

I had to check because I am not that familiar with ARTMS and I do agree, but when I first saw the girl she made me think of Chaeyoung from Twice.
