Born Stunner was so jarring the first time I heard it but now I cannot stop listening to it

I left this comment on Reddit as an answer to someone's question but I think it sums up my feelings of ARTMS. 'I like when a group can be meta within their concept if it makes sense, and for me it does for ARTMS. Its also these out of the box moments that makes them unique. People like to complain about the lack of creativity or originality in kpop but when we get it they get apprehensive about it when its something that doesnt fit their perceived view of a group/concept.' Also I just watched the KiiiKiii reaction before this and I think its fitting that I watched these back to back. I think KiiiKiii is exactly what kpop needed. They break the formula just enough to satisfy the kpop quirkiness while balancing a creative mainstream sound at the same time. ARTMS is also what kpop needs but they are the opposite, drowning out the mainstream sound with pure quirkiness and insane creativity. Jaden is finally getting to do the underground kpop he wanted to do with LOONA before he got pushed away at BBC.

Hearing Artms talk about their nervousness to do hip hop and rap I was so confused like I do understand it’s not necessarily the Artms image thus far but FROM THE GROUP THAT MADE POSE??? you girls are so fine like you have the skills don’t sweat it

OK, the song Born Stunner is fine, in fact its a 8.5/10 for me. Ignoring the lore, the contrast between 'leak' MV is a fun MV and the 'real' MV is darker which is really fun BUT...... the ratio of the 'real' MV is a huge deal breaker for me. I know its the director vision what so ever, but I felt it was a potential being cut off. Like the MV scenes was so beautiful just to get cutoff by the ratio, Its frustrating because you can literally see how beautiful the full production is. Idk how to express what I feel but if you know what I meant.

I’m actually happy with all the marketing for this comeback, feels like old school blogs, really cultivating that “hidden culture/in-crowd” world building that I feel like fans are already receptive to like a choose your own adventure, which path you take is individual, I just think that it’s a good tool to keep people who are already fans deeper into the Artms hole and really invest and for new fans It might steer away mainstream public but it will help garner new diehards for long term investment; I’m so here for it to get so weird and never get the full picture like yes!! Make me want to watch the mv again and again and in different formats and yes old PlayStation animation !! If it’s off putting to the general public well I do understand 😂 but it’s so made for my taste

The live stages for Born stunner and blue blood are an absolute MUST!!

You saw exactly what you were meant to see, nothing was lost with the choice of ratio. Its similar to the mobile game Simulacra where you piece together bits of glitchy/corrupted found footage to create the narrative. ARTMS even released a video titled Simulacrum in the lead up to this album release, which was also vertical ratio and included the glitchy/corrupted bits. So no, no potential was lost, people just need to get out of their comfort zones at times and look between the lines. They chose that ratio for a deliberate reason, so its a bit insulting to dismiss it, especially considering its a digipedi MV. Sorry if that sounds rude but thats how I feel. I feel like parts of the fandom dont like change so want to keep the ARTMS vision/lore too restricted instead of letting ARTMS and their team be creative and give us something unique. As I said in my other comment, people complain about lack of creativity in kpop yet when we get it they get apprehensive when it puts them out of their comfort zone.

I did not said that it wasnt unique nor i complained it wasnt creative. I never said that the ratio wasnt an artistic reason behind it. Im talking about how im personally experience the visual. It just that the sets, cinematography and productions look so beautiful I would've appreciate it more in a greater sense of scales. I do understand that its a deliberate choice. Welp if you feel that im insulting them then sorry, but that wasn't my intention. It just my oppinion and personal preference when watching the MV.

Steven Rodriguez

Thank you for supporting ARTMS as always PD, lots of weird fans and discourse around this comeback but to me the album is a 10/10

Steven Rodriguez

Just wish it was longer but I repeat it alllll day

Steven Rodriguez

Woah you just helped me notice blue blood has blue eyes and born stunner has red eyes, interesting…….

oneshot2489

Pretty sure the angels "artms" in born stunner are evil. And the blue eyed angels are good. The blue eyed angels want revenge on their mom. And tell people in virtual angel they aren't your savior like a warning. And the red eyed version in born stunner do the opposite.

Youre entitled to your opinion, I wasnt attacking you...but you literally said the ratio was a deal-breaker, so I offered a counterpoint. It may have affected your experience but the whole point of the MV direction is that we are witnessing the footage from a specific perspective, thats what I mean by getting out of your comfort zone, otherwise its just like any other MV. Sorry if I upset you, not my intention, and part of what I said wasnt spefically directed at you but more as a general statement. Like I said just offering a counterpoint not arguing but the fact that you understand its unique and creative but still want it to be more generic confuses me.
