Literally JUST finished your reactions to Obsessed With Youth and got this thank you! Its definitely in my top 5 also but Voyager will always be number 1 now! However this song is definitely their best title track. Its probably one of their most catchy and easy listening ones too. Its totally for us emo kids and thats why I love them so freaking much! This is why they always leaving wanting more from them. I could never get enough of them! This album is in my running for album of the year. Give Up the Ghost is my favorite after OWY and then Slashhh then You Right There then the rest are all just equal. This whole album is 🤌! Its def their best album too. Ive LOVED so many songs from them but as a whole album this one is God tier. Jungsu did some freaking hard carry on this whole album and I live for!

Ah I cannot wait to watch this later!! Also hope you're feeling better PD :) Edit: Okay I'm back. First of all, PD you have taste! As I mentioned in my other comment give up the ghost and u and me in arguments are also my absolute favourites. On the give up the ghost section you searched up producers and that, and considering one of them has worked for 5sos - who are my favourite non kpop band/artist ever, as a person who also adored their everyone's a star album release - it makes a whole lot of sense why I love this song so much. The vocals on the chorus are actually heavenly and I don't know how to describe it but I really like the instrumental. As for u and me in arguments, I'll admit it took me a couple of listens but again that chorus is so addictive and the section of Jooyeon's metal lines with that melodic line by Jungsu before it hits into the final chorus again is just out of this world. The hitting of the drums and guitar/bass on the chorus hit just right But more generally, and this is going to tie into why I love these two songs in particular, I fully agree with your assessment that this EP feels like true rock. Their earlier albums, whilst I do really like them still have that kpopish production and style to them. This feels more true to a 'rock sound' and I think is why I have immensely enjoyed this comeback compared to their previous releases for a while now. Like when I first got into kpop and the kbands, I was living a bit of my rock/band era and I initially really liked xdinary heroes but then I discovered other bands like onewe and KAVE but more specifically FTISLAND (who are one of my ult groups). When I discovered FTISLAND I was like this is the rock sound I am craving (for context shadows, burn it, serious, take me now, thunderstorm are some of my favourite songs of theirs). Because of that I kind of fell out of love with xdh, and vastly preferred the likes of ftisland where their sound felt more rock based. But impulse? Those two songs? Blew me away. I hope they continue down this road with their sound because I will keep checking them out again (Also yeah I think they're going to be my top xdh songs ever too) Sorry for the absolute essay of a comment, I'm actually really passionate about this EP and xdh at the moment aha

This album might be my favorite xdh album yet. Which makes it so melancholic after everything that has happened to this group in the past few months.

first time commenter here big fan <3 but the way you felt about the tuide album about being your fav of the year and just can't get enough of the album. this is my tune and play like impulse was PERFECTION i can't get enough of this damn album u and me in arguments gives this nostalgia feel that i haven't had in a single rock song since i was a kid but it captures what rock is to me and what i loved from the genre... but god this album is a work of god damn art !
