The only thing I wish your listening party did different was put the lyrics up while listening so that it is easier to follow your reaction a bit and to see your reaction to certain lyrics and there beautiful meanings ❤️

This is truly one of the best works of art I've listened to in my life. The songs just connect with you on a different level, and the pain that B.I conveyed was heartbreaking. I just hope the international fans really show him love for this album and show him he won't be forgotten :(.

These kind of lyrics make me wish so bad that i could understand korean. I mean i could feel that these lyrics are very personal by reading the translation but i think it just hits different and there is a lot more depth when you can understand the actual words he is saying.

I totally agree when you were saying that Help Me made you realize how much B.I's identity was in IKON because I had the exact same thought while listening to it. Like I could hear the IKOn member's voices in it. And I also agree with how this album is like a red flag. Like B.I really tugged my heartstrings and its honestly really hard to listen to some songs because it makes me tear up. Like B.I's case is STILL going on, after 9 intense investigations and a negative drug test he's still going through this hard time.

If anyone wants more painful AF music check out Meaninglessby WOODZ. He even openly stated that lyrics from “meaningless,” were taken from various suicide notes that he had penned when considering taking his own life

If I remember correctly…he never actually took the drugs. Also…we can see how problematic Koreas justice system is by looking at the fact that Ilhoon just got sentenced to 2 years in jail for smoking weed while people who commit sexual crimes get less then that or can get there sentence lessened. It sickens me

i never would have thought to check out b.i if you hadn't done the kulture study on illa illa. the indie styling captivated me and then your deeper dive into the lyrics and b.i gave me a deeper understanding and appreciation of his work. same goes for this album review. thank you for the time and passion you put into your content! cheering for b.i from america. i hope he finds what he needs.

This album was so raw and honest. His words were so heartbreaking and piercing. It was tough getting through this album for me but i am happy that he finally said whatever was on his mind and in his heart. I respect him a lot.

it's really quite insane that hanbin said he wrote flow away in a day and 3-4 hours, he said it was the fastest song he wrote in this album (it's my favorite song on the album too, production is so old-school)

Love how you said Flow Away and Re-Birth highlights Hanbin's strong skills as a lyricist bcos (1) He said flow away was the last song he wrote and got an advice from Epik High to just talk about the story he wanted to tell in the most honest way possible. (2) Re-Birth was a song dedicated to the fans, he actually pre-released it back on April and revealed the fandom name which is ID at the same time. ID = Be Identity- ppl who complete B.I's identity. Also, the song cover is a flower called freesia :) He actually layered Re-Birth in illa illa which can be heard on the live and performance film behind of Waterfall. He said he initially planned on putting illa illa first and Re-Birth last so it would feel connected but after your explanation about Waterfall now i know why it should be first on the album. I know what u mean about the cry for help thing, i mean... Hanbin was a leader at such a young age, they lost on WIN. and when they didnt do well in KR post-debut he probably felt the burden as a leader with 6 other lives reliant of him. He said on WIN that 2 members dropped out of school to be trainees so he was desperate on what to do if they failed. Then after that, Love Scenario happened- the peak of their career. Then the scandal broke out. It was such a bliss. So yeah we are truly concerned of his mental and physical health that's why this album hit me on a very very personal level. Sorry for the lengthy post! Dang, my respect for this artist is just on a whole level. Loveeed this listening party so much, thank youuu PD!!!

This album is so, so beautiful. I've been listening to it nonstop in all kinds of moods. It's something very personal and filled with many different emotions, but it's still so... listenable? I mean, ofcourse it is... i don't know how to phrase it. Sometimes, music that's deep and emotional is very specific and can be hard to listen to on a regular basis and in different moods. This album, to me, is so diverse, colorful and easy to listen to while bearing all these thoughts and feelings. Self-reflection and honesty in lyrics are always what get me the most! While listening to these songs i've cried, smiled brightly, danced... it's such a beautiful collection of songs! I'm so happy for him to be able to put an album like this out... to speak about his thoughts, feelings and story.

Love this album so much. B.I is insanely talented! I've had Waterfall and Illa Illa on repeat since it dropped. The songs are melancholy yet hopeful and hit me in all kinds of emotional places. Thanks for another great listening party. Also the dance practice and performance films are so dope.

Funny thing is this reaction is uploaded on the exact same day when BI left iKON n YG, its was the day of ikonics nightmare but exactly 2 yrs later everything is put back into place. Sometimes i get goosebumps looking at the coincidences in BI, its like there is some divine intervention that everth happened to him so as he can do sth bigger

I joined patron for this eventhough I'm broke BROKE. I got emotional hearing your pov of his album and realized that yeah even there's a lot of international fans that stayed and didn't care about what happed to him it will always stuck in his mind and heart because it is where he lives and the connection he has in his own country would always be different from his views of other countries and it's sad

Just some addtl info, the track "Then" was actually the first song he shared on his SoundCloud last Jan 2020 after leaving YG last June 2019. It was just titled Demo 1 and with no bgm just his voice and the song was made using the recording equipment fans contributed to give to him so he could continue making music. He then continued to share demos every 60 days. Including Then aka Demo 1 in the album and putting it just before Re-birth, the ending, just feels so powerful and meaningful in a way. Thank you for your insight on the album songs and lyrics. Waterfall is indeed a masterpiece.

when you said it's a red flag and a cry for help... oh i relive the moments when he disappeared and the dark thoughts i had in my mind, the terror that one day bad news about him come. i was really really scared. i know he has excellent support system but still, i cried so hard when it was first announced that he'll be features in Epik High album, oh the relief i felt. hanbin is the kind of person that you can't help being very protective of because he's so strong but very vulnerable. he's been through too much for someone so young.

Yep this is why I joined your patreon just for this reaction and it was exactly what I was expecting. I didnt think I could feel any more deeply for this album and B.I but after your lyric translations Im crying all over again. Maybe because I'm not Korean and don't know the language it didnt hit me as hard even after listening to the whole album every day almost since it came out. I really hope B.I is okay and is getting help if he needs it and wants it. I wish he could see all the people who still love him and respect him as an artist and need his music in their lives. Numb is my favorite song followed by Flow Away Help Me and Illa Illa. I connect to the first half of the album much more than the second besides Day Dream which I cant at all. I own both versions of the hard copies and its totally worth it its beautiful and the photography in it is just art. I dont even know how to describe how this album makes me feel but its similar to you even with out feeling the Korean lyrics like you do. That just shows how much emotion B.I puts into his voice. He is brilliant and beautiful and so talented... I cant wait for more from him when he is ready to share his talent with us again.

I understand that people don't differentiate drugs/substances and the only thing they know is: "it is legal or illegal". I am also aware of this whole concept of idols being the pure perfection of a human-being. But first, not only in this case but in general it does not have a good impact on people's health and also attitude towards those idols and also each other. Second thing is those laws in Korea and this whole mind-set... I know, this is just perspective of mine, but I think he wasn't necessarily escaping from anything by making decision to try weed or psychedelics. From his artistic point of view, it might have been just curiosity of seeing the other perspective. I don't expect that if Korea understood this, it would make anything different, since he was an idol, but for me as a person, who consider psychedelics as totally different substances than stimulants, opiates and other things, to which one can get easily addicted, this whole situation is so meaningless. Although I don't see it as escaping, I still agree it shouldn't be put in the way like: "everybody come here and let's get high, it is totally fine for everybody", but if somebody is adult enough, made their decision, which won't affect somebody else, than it is up to them. Which is the other thing I'm aiming to and that is the fact he wasn't involved in any business around that like dealing to someone else etc... But the reality is as it is... so I understand, how this whole thing makes him feel so hopeless and empty. I wanted to go through this experience with you, so I didn't listen to that album on my own before and I am glad I did it this way! Thank You! Also I found out that whole revenue from this album goes for foundation called The Basic For Girls, which aims to improve the poor environment, such as the construction of women's restrooms for women's human rights in Zambia, Africa... B.I. is such a kind human being! The album is going to be released on LP as well soon, so I'll buy it!!

i subscribed to your patreon because i rly wanted to watch your reaction to this album. it's been awhile since i listened to whole album but i'm reminded how great of an album this is. i cant wait for your reaction to cosmos :> BI is really one of my favourite singer songwriters in the entire kpop industry. i didnt think it was possible for anyone to release two AOTYs but this man did it. there's just something about it that just hits you in your core.

i do not think there is another idol who has ever had as much input into their group's music as hanbin did. i think he quite literally credited on every single ikon song... thats absolutely insane. im so happy he's putting out solo music now under his own company
