ATEEZ got 6 music show wins with GEURRILLA (equal to all their wins so far..!) and got 1 million pre-orders - so it went down very well with atiny :D the preview kinda went viral on tik tok & i've seen alot of atinys say this whole ep is in their top 3 ateez ep/albums

Samantha

I'm so excited to see y'all return!! And this cb for ateez may be the turning point of getting the general public to really see them as the stars and talents that they are, i've loved watching it in real time since 2018 🥺🥺🥺🥺 i hope you'll be able to react to the previews for this mv, they're basically like 2 movie trailers leading up to the release of the mv in terms of plot lines and aesthetics! (also, really looking forward to the album review from u guys!!)

Tesa

"the disease is human emotion" part was from one of their kingdom performances! the blimps also appear there (i think it was rhythm ta) so they've technically been planning this for over a year at least, along with the general storyline which is presented in the 2 trailers released prior to the MV and in that epilogue of the MV. i absolutely LOVE their lore and how it's all tied together! everything is just so cohesive, as is this entire album which i can't wait for you to listen to! i was also so shocked to hear the screamo, but it was awesome! love that they added that! everyone killed it this comeback, but i do want to give a special shoutout to Yunho who led the dancebreak - that was jawdropping!

milli_moodz00

The screamo was definitely a shock, I've never heard it in a K-pop song before, so it took me a couple listens to get used to it but now every time I listen to Guerrilla I scream along to the lyrics HAHAHA I love that they're not afraid to experiment with genres and just go crazy. The MV is amazing, I kept getting surprised over and over again and their acting was ON POINT. Jongho's "We are, ohhh" pre-chorus is one of my favourite parts of the song, he is the main vocal and he is not afraid to shove it in your face and show it. They grow and improve with every comeback and I'm seriously so proud of them, they never disappoint and never fail to deliver an amazing piece of art.

The one thing about this comeback that stood out for me was that we knew it was going to be different by the way it was publicized. Putting QR codes in places that led to YT hidden video fed into the subversive nature of the entire theme they have going for The World. It was marketing genius, right up until they started to release trailers. As kpop fans, we've become accustomed to drawing lines about "I'll watch this trailer, this teaser..." knowing that we're going to see/avoid glimpses of the upcoming MV. ATEEZ's teasers and trailers for this comeback, though, were actually lore, and so many people missed them because they didn't want to be spoiled for the MV (totally understandable). The three main pieces (Wake Up, the World; Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 were cinematic masterpieces that advance the group's lore/storyline without spoiling the MV or the album. They reintroduce Strictland, further the concept of how the society is under governmental control, and highlight the repression happening, and then show the members doing things that will probably lead to big changes. The Guerrilla Teaser 1 also gave some insight into the MV's rooftop scene before the lore addition at the end of the MV shows us an outcome from some of the actions in the trailers. Which is all super hype and gives newcomers to ATEEZ a foothold on where we are in the story (and that it exists!?). Plus, for hardcore fans, the throughline comes from allll the way back in Answer's pre/post MV music, which finally made its way into an actual song now (omg, yay), and many of the elements of Kingdom's Rhythm Ta are echoed here, from the "disease is human emotion" to even the RT masks being used in promo photos. It's amazing that these things are so well planned, so well executed, and they are both inclusive to draw you in, and exclusive, in that some of the content is (generally) made available only to those who buy the albums, etc. I'm so impressed with their being from a small company and becoming this juggernaut of talent, complexity, concepts, quality and storyline. I'd say it feels like rooting for the underdog, but even from debut they weren't under anyone! Now that they've won all 6 show trophies, it will be interesting to see where they go next. PD, any chance you could watch those trailers before you do your album review? I think it would make a lot more sense.

Yeah, it's definitely gone down well with both the fans and general listeners. It has the most music show wins of any of their songs so far, and the new sound is also bringing in many new fans who had never heard their music before. I also feel like the ep is their most cohesive so far, I love every track on it - I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the ep if you ever feel like doing a listening party!

Welcome back PD! Thank you for all these reactions and I really hope you’re feeling better! Honestly as an atiny this has been one of the most exciting comebacks in a long time and not because of Ateez (they are consistently top tier) but because it feels like they’re finally getting recognition outside the fandom for their talents. Guerilla alone has won 6 wins and the EP reached no.3 on the billboard top 200. Statistics, wins, charts do not define their or any other kpop group or musician’s worth as an artist but it’s just so heartwarming to see Ateez being loved by the general public. As for the music itself, I’m so excited for this era, I think this whole halateez arc is going to allow them explore a darker, grittier side and I’m so excited for it. Pop punk/rock has become a trend with boy groups but I really hope Ateez embrace it even more going forward with more heavier rock sounds or metal elements because it just suits them so well. With Jongho’s power vocals, their whole theatrical performance and the sheer energy they bring it really just sells the whole concept (not to mention the screamo parts warmed my little emo heart). This really feels like a new beginning for Ateez. Edenary, Leez, Ollunder, Buddy and the rest of the production team have spent the last few EPs mastering and perfecting the ‘Ateez sound’ and now they’re really pushing their own boundaries and raising the bar for kpop in general with this crazy sound experimentation. It’s even more exciting to see Mingi and Hongjoong getting more involved in the production process and featuring on credits. Besides Guerilla, I think Cyberpunk is a song from EP you will really appreciate, just for how experimental it is (and Mingi and Hongjoong are both credited on it)! I haven’t even started on the visuals but let me stop before this comment turns into a novel. I think I speak for all atinys when I say I can’t wait for what the future has in store for them.

Jenna

i 100% agree with what you mean about the song, but i really do think its in my top 3 atz songs ever i love it so much... even from the previews i loved it and when it finally dropped its been my most listened to song. i really loved it, and the album and mv and im so happy they got so much love and wins for this cb because it was totally deserved!! i fell even more in love w atz after seeing them live and meeting them and i cant help but be hopeful for some europe dates since theyre going on tour again - i need to be able to scream this song live along with other atinys lol. thank you for the reaction as always pd!!

Jordan Youssef

ATEEZ are anarchists confirmed lol. This is a very based MV

Letícia

Off the top of my head I can think of EXO - MAMA and Pink Fantasy - Poison who both have screamo in them!

milli_moodz00

Ohhh I've watched one MV from Pink Fantasy, i can't remember what it was, they're the ones that have a member who always wears a mask right? Damn I haven't heard MAMA in a looooong time hahaha I'll have to listen to it again, as well as Poison

Naia19

YAS been waiting for this one! Definitely agree that this is easily one of the finest comeback’s from ATEEZ. The screamo did take me a minute to get used as someone completely unfamiliar with the genre, but now I am literally wired to drop everything and ‘BREAK THE WALLLL’ whenever Guerrilla plays lmao.

Sakura

Hi, PDnim! I've been an ATINY since Wonderland era. IMO, for an artist to last long in the industry they must find their signature sound or identity but still be innovative and keep evolving each comeback. That's the key to keep the old fans but still attract new ones into the fandom. Groups like Seventeen have already achieved that. I stopped stanning groups because they became boring or changed their sound so much I didn't recognize them anymore. ATEEZ brings different generes and styles every comeback like WAVE, Wonderland, Inception, Fireworks, Turbulence and now Guerrilla. But the think that connects all those songs is EPICNESS. I feel like they really absorb you into their universe and make you feel like a pirate on an adventure. You should listen the fanchant "break the wall" live like those people really are ready to overthrow the government because that's how Guerrilla makes you feel. Say my name, Turbulence and now Guerrilla are my favorite title tracks with different styles yet they have something in common. Epicness is what defines ATEEZ. You can hear it in their music and feel it in their performances (Kingdom is a great example), it doesn't matter the song nor the stage it is because that is their quintessence. I do recommend to watch some Guerrilla stages and of course listen to the whole album because those songs are as epic as Guerrilla (no spoilers). Thanks as always for the reaction!

ATEEZ ult here, but I'm 31 lol...I love screamo so when I heard Hongjoong's part is kind of knocked me out of my chair because I was not expecting it. Then they did it later when the song hit it's climax. The first time I listened to it I think it honestly threw me off so much I didn't enjoy it all the way - my thoughts were like "oh wow it's a great song". After hearing and watching it again and again I realized how much I love this song and kind of am obsessed with it. Their most recent win with it was so sweet to watch - the boys were super surprised they won. I'm so proud of them and just blows my mind I saw them in concert this year - my first KPOP concert!

Maria

the most replayed part is the part that looks like the French Revolution painting, it looks so cool that people had to rewind it! who knew that a screamo song would be their most successful comeback yet - 6 music show wins, #1 on itunes in 28 countries, the album got #3 on the Billboard 200 chart, close to 1M hanteo sales, and i've seen a lot of non-fans complimenting this comeback, it seems very well liked. like others have said, I hope you watch the trailers that was released before this music video before the album listen because it takes that cinematic look into an almost full blown movie or Netflix series with how they are going about it. it's really cool and as a movie fan, I think you will LOVE it (anyone else love how the chorus set piece looks like Fritz Lang's Metropolis poster?). I don't think you noticed but the blimps and "the disease is human emotion" is from the Kingdom 'Rhythm Ta' performance! Atiny's realized this comeback that all of their music is connected into their storyline and specifically this comeback has been in the works since that live stage. also they added a new female producer - Neko and Maddox to their producing team which i think helped make this album much more unique and it's their most cohesive release yet. I look forward to your album listen when it comes out. I hope you have a great time seeing them at KCON, as I can't wait to finallyy see them on tour this fall. Guerrilla will be amazing live.

Nathalia Rodríguez

I gotta say this might be in my top 3 Ateez’s title tracks. It was so unexpected like i never thought they would go for a sound like this and they completely nailed it. Also this album? Their best one, i’m not kidding, a different sound from them in every aspect but at the same it’s so cohesive. I can’t wait for the listening party !

Céline Verhaeghe

I highly recommend watching their live performances( literally all of them) and their dance practice for sure. You will need several rounds of rewatching it because their is so much happening. Also it's just so much fun to see how far they came through their dance practice ;) Also the album is dope <3

Tesa

Thank you for mentioning the revolution/painting-like scene - it was epic! And I love the way it was shot, not sure what the technique is they used. And yay, someone else noticed the Metropolis/German expressionism influence there haha! I didn't see anyone really talking about it

catanda

as an ex screamo and rock teenager that fell into kpop i gotta say this is definetly top tier comeback title track , i honestly can advertice the album as a whole, it made me love guerrilla even more i cant wait for this album's first listen, i would love to hear your thoughts on it!

xJeckAx

I saw somewhere that Hongjoong mentioned that both scream parts were recorded by their producers. None of the members is able to do screams in the way that they like it to be in this song.

kangeka

Hey PD are you going to be reacting to Enhypen’s Paradoxxx Invadion MV? Ty!

Hannah

I grew up listening to screamo so this was a nice surprise. Rockteez has been percolating for a while now and I am glad Edenary just went for it. There is something very cathartic about the song.
