Its fascinating to see your point of vue of hybe and the way you think that maybe they're trying to be more "ethical". I never saw it that way, mostly because I don't really believe in companies trying to be more ethical and respectful lol. But I definitely witness a different approach of forming idols with hybe but for me it was mostly because they were "running out of time" with the BTS members having to enlist, hybe definetely needed to debut multiple other group to compass the lost of revenues they were going to face (as well as investing in other business). So for me, their approach was to find trainees like Sunghoon or Kazuha or even K who were all competing in "sports" and train them to become idols. Like I don't know if it was hybe intention to not have their trainees train for a long time or if they had that possibilities they would ? One thing I could admit is that they have a very efficient training when it comes to performance training and dancing especially when you see the evolution of Sunoo or Kazuha for example.

Hey PD, I just want to mention that Le Sserafim's Day Off actually has 3 episodes, the last one is called the Plus episode and it's the transition between that show and Leniverse, so it's quite important! I hope you'll see this before you start to film :)

What I also like about Hybe is their quality and I don't know if it's true or not but I've seen multiple mentions that they didn't charge their trainee for their training period like other companies, which is great so that the artist can make money directly without needing to pay off their debt first.

Your point at the end about debuting idols with talent that aren't necessarily 100% ready for debut really reminds me of STAYC too. I think they've done nothing but improve since their debut and are only going to improve even more.

Funny thing about what you said about HYBE trying to make an ethical company. This was said by the members in a Weverse Live recently. They said they practiced really hard for their MAMA performance and went beyond their usual hours BUT they actually practiced so long their managers were practically begging them to go home early. I think with these girls, they really strive for the best performance they can give, to go above and beyond their limits.

so exciting seeing them debut. since you talked about HYBE here, I got an interesting idea for a bonus drop: HYBE just had their "2022 HYBE BRIEFING WITH THE COMMUNITY" recently. Very insightful into the mindset of the company, and a lot more than i had imagined at first. Very interesting. 2022 HYBE BRIEFING: https://youtu.be/U7_TK7nlsyk Loved the reaction, excited for more!

I believe even during the start bighit even if they were broke didnt put debt on their artists even after their trainee days. Even BTS. I think that says alot with how Bang PD wanted to run his company back then which reflects to Hybe now.

FORYOU

You should check Day Off Plus too!! Day off are actually more than 2 episodes!!! Plz

You usually can see it at the top of the patreon page for "form of therapy," but just in case you can't find it, the password is "pie" for all videos. Hope this helps!

it’s really crazy to see how hybe was able to became hybe.. i remember when they were called bighit labels and before that it was just bighit entertainment and it’s like woww seeing that all happen in real time is crazy to think about. but yes i loved this documentary! thank you for checking it out i enjoyed rewatching it!!

i think in iland bang pd kept emphasizing how he wants the mentors to look at potential and not just their skills right now. because i think that skills can be taught and grow overtime but personality, attitude, your life story, and that 'star aura' (i dont know any better way to put this) cannot. you have people like zuha who barely had kpop training but excels in ballet, or like sunoo who only trained for 10 months but excels at expressions, etc. and everyone has talked about getting counseling at hybe so i believe theyre taking care of their artists mental health too, which i think is neglected a lot in smaller companies because those sessions are not cheap. i really loved this documentary, im so excited to watch more le sserafim with you!
