not this notif bringing tears to my eyes oh god

beannieswife

Omg I haven’t watched this but that’s a strong statement :o

Anistar95

Hi PD! thanks you for this massive drop.. is red velvet b'day and kara "when I move" in your list?

Harley

PD I jumped so fast and yes I agree this MV is my favorite that I have seen from Big Hit’s production in years. FYI Youjeen is the lead singer of the korean band Cherry Filter Also as well I highly recommend you watch the album magazine film it's a 40 minute interview with RM and all the featured artists about the songs and backstories it's very good and really allows us to see the full artistic image that he was going for with Indigo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRy8OYhLO-A

fei

sorry for bringing this up PD but you have been missing out a lot of good comebacks and debuts!!!!

채채즈

There's also MV for RM's b-side 'Still Life' PD, the song is inspired by the painting Still Life

jd

hi pd! in case you didn’t know red velvet released a mini album “the reve festival 2022 - birthday” they sampled a classical piece again “rhapsody in blue” for the title track! can’t wait for your reaction to the mv and the album and the performance video too :D

Liz

RM really put everything in this, his artistic mind never fails to impress me, I love when an artist releases something and you can tell those are their real feelings, it makes everything so much more especial for me. Thanks for the video!

ThatPatreonThough

Hopefully Red Velvet and KARA are on the way. Losing hope for the Alice comeback reaction though

lovelypjm

indigo was one of my top 3 favorite albums this year! and the ppl he chose to collab with in this album fit with him so well

Sythini

When are you gonna react to the ALICE comeback?

honeyboy

indigo is one of the best albums of the year in my opinion. it is such a stunning sonic experience. you can tell namjoon really put his heart and soul into this album and actually called it his art instead of an album. it’s interesting because on spotify (i’m not sure how it is in other platforms) you’re unable to shuffle the songs meaning he wants you to listen to each song as it flows into the next. it really takes you through a whole experience and it gets better with every listen

bea

ah such a good video 😭 it makes me super emotional too. saw someone on twitter point out that the scene where he's in the storm, the objects flying around are actually different equipments like mics, cameras, tripods, etc. which i found super interesting. i'm so so proud of namjoon for wildflower and obviously the whole indigo album. so happy to see him taking so much pride in this work. looking forward to the listening party!! it's pretty amazing 💙

Apicha Mildp

I think pd will probably love to watch magazine film, tiny desk concert and live in New York at Dia Beacon after listening to indigo. All the contents that Namjoon released so far are such a masterpiece. It’s like he show us about art in his exhibition in museum. Everything is just so namjoon 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

Stephanie

idk if you checked out the credits after, but woogie kim directed this mv! i’ve kept an eye out for his work after you reacted to B.I’s illa illa mv. this song and mv just absolutely blew me away. can’t wait for the indigo listening party!

beannieswife

Omg just watched this thanks to you and it’s incredible, I would say it’s almost on the same level of DPR Ian’s last project, that imo is the best thing that came out this year, his short film and album, plus connection with the first ep and all his work making more sense rn, just blew my mind, I highly recommend it to you PD! You will love it! I’m going to check indigo rn too, thanks for introducing me to this!

Jana

absolutely adore this song and mv and honestly the whole album it’s just what i needed this year! cinematically i think you‘d also really enjoy the live performance at the dia beacon he released yesterday it’s just a lovely showcase of how much inspiration he’s been drawing from the visual arts for this project

Christian Oettl

Never heard of youjeen but man her vocals were incredible. The MV was fantastic and so was RM, but man her vocals got to me not gonna lie

Réka O.

Thanks for the reaction PD, I'm so happy you appreciate RM's artistry! I know others already recommended them and there really is a lot of content out related to the album but I promise you it's worth checking out all of them. Knowing what topics you usually find the most interesting in documentaries, lyrics, and interviews, I think you'll find everything surrounding RM's Indigo project fascinating. I definitely recommend doing the listening party first, then the Tiny Desk Concert, Magazine Film, and the Live in New York @ Dia Beacon. And if you have time, please also watch his episode on a new show Suga is hosting called Suchwita, their conversation is such a treat to anyone who really wants to know what brilliant idol producers and lyricists go through while creating and how they think.

Michelle R.

I was completely shocked when RM said that the firework scene was all real, no CGI. But it’s HYBE, of course it was real! I’d never heard of Nakhwa Nori (traditional Korean fireworks) before, but it’s absolutely stunning.

Angelica Yap

i'm so glad you loved it!! can't wait for the album reaction <3 i think it's my fave thing to have been released this year, indigo is so good <3

Audrey Vasquez

I sat up and cried for like an hour after this was dropped. It’s painful to be an ARMY right now, watching our guys trickle off into the military, baring their souls into their solo works. RM is such a poet and an artist. You might like to watch Suga interview RM about his new album on his new show called 슈취타 (lol get it) https://youtu.be/KN9gQBb4up0 And also RM released a bside MV for the song "Still Life" featuring Anderson Paak and it's really fun. https://youtu.be/2vfmL4q2koo You must have a packed schedule but these are just suggestions! Hope to see a listening party for Indigo at least because RM really put out AOTY in the month of December. King shit.

kelly

I cant wait to see your reaction to his album. It's truly a masterpiece from start to finish and I think you'll love it!!

Haruka

I'm loving this solo era of BTS. Gem after gem after gem... Hobi, Jin, JK, RM.. now i'm hearing Jimin is gonna collab with Taeyang??? Gosh..

Dryyym You

You will enjoy the album for sure🙌🏻 And he also released the mv for b-side “Still Life” It’s also very fresh and has some nice editing, very curious to hear your thoughts about it 🤍

Promise_9

Hi PD, in case you missed it Alexa came back with a new MV back in vogue. It is an ep I think so it has b-sides as well

cecilia

Oh you're going to absolutely loveeee Indigo. The way that he dropped this within the last month of the year, making a 4:33 long title track, in the middle of the holidays... speaks volumes. It shows that while he does care about charting (because every artist does and he admits that in an interview) He just finally wanted to do something without the pressure of doing well and getting to release something that was completely his in every way shape and form. I love this chapter 2 for BTS because there really is no limit to how far they can go with their individual selves that they weren't able to find with being in the group together. And that isn't bad, it's just now this journey of self needs to be done by themselves and seeing them all support each other no matter what has been the sweetest thing after being an ARMY for the last 8 years. They've grown so much and no one else understands them the most other than the members themselves and all the hardships they had to go through to get to where they are today. With RM in particular, he's always been subject to so much unprovoked hate, being the leader, not considered the best looking and constantly shifting to find his identity in what music he truly liked vs. what the industry was telling him to do. You can definitely tell he went through so much in making this album and debut and I'm so happy he found himself in ways he couldn't before with wildflower<3 Can't wait for your album listen! Hope it'll be as iconic as your mono one LOL

cecilia

Oh and when you're done with the album he has so much content for promoting this album in ways that have never been done before! If you get the chance to add to your bonus content his Tiny Desk and live performances of all these songs are absolutely amazing.

Dom

there’s also a mv for Still Life, it was originally a b-side, but it’s now one of the leads

R875d

I can't wait for the album reaction .. I still get goosebumps when he was on the stage ... it was a beautiful\sad moment .. he was so honest this album is so addicted

Brittney Danielle

Yaaas, I’m going to watch this now (have to put this reaction on my tv 🤣). Seriously this MV/song has me all in the feels, I was waiting for you!

Elizabeth

I haven’t watched this me till now with u. I just cried my heart out. My mom passed away this year and we were extremely close. When I started listening to K-pop in 2019, my parents thought it was weird. But as time went on, my mom started to like it. In particular, my mom loved rm. She always recognized his voice and would be proud of him. She would always get so excited about him and she doesn’t usually like rap. Watching this reminded me of the bond I had with her and I continue to miss. Because of rm, I became closer to my mom. I know she is watching this with me. Sorry for my rant, but I had to just say this

Oof Oof

So sorry for your loss dear. I hope you're doing well and I'm sure she's watching it with you.

Mar

Definitely do listen to INDIGO. It's such a beautiful album. Every song is a different genre and you can tell how much thought RM but into it, like in everything he does. I also recommend you watch his INDIGO magazine film. It's around 40 min long, but it's so worth it, if you want to know the bts around the production of the album.

Aisha

i loved every single song on his album! i found myself relating to him so much and i just get so emotional listening to it. i can't wait for your reaction to his album

Simran

Thank you for this reaction! Sorry to say it here but would you be able to fix the In the Soop links?

Diana Rasner

Hot take and I know you'll be doing a listening party for it but this album is in contention for my favorite album of all time since listening to kpop over the last 15 years.

Ashley

I loved wildflower so much it really touched me. I watched the video twice. On the first watch I was watched without captions so I could be fully immersed in the song and visuals. Even though I didn’t understand most of what was being said I could gather from it that Namjoon was talking about something really important, deep, and thought provoking. I was also 100% sure it was probably going to make me cry. So when I watched it the second time with the captions on let’s just say I was in tears. I literally had to pause the music video just to gather myself because some of the things he said were so poignant and relatable. Like this song is so relatable some lines hit so hard because I truly felt them. I think songwriters have like the most amazing jobs because of the fact that they can expressed themselves through an art form like music. I Namjoonie is very blessed with words because he’s so smart. So, when you take his personality and you add the musician part of him with it it’s just a recipe for success. I honestly love wildflower so much and Youjeen absolutely killed it on the vocals. I was so blown away by her. The music video is so visually beautiful and pleasing and everything about it song lyrics and all were just perfect for Namjoon and I’m really happy that he could express things that have been weighing him down. Bringing up the FESTA Dinner video is like saying Voldemort you just don’t say FESTA Dinner 2022 within the fandom. But I will say hearing Namjoon‘s concerns in the FESTA Dinner video really made me worry for him. I was like he seems very lost and burnt out and I’ve been hoping that he could just find his way back. And although wildflower is very emotional and what not there’s actually some little points within the song they gave me hope that Namjoon is healing. And honestly just seeing him relaxing in the flower field at the end was like that’s what I want for him. I want him to be able to have that as well as his career. BTS’ happiness will always be my top priority as a fan.

Ania

Hi we need this on YouTube

jongdongwoong

this might be the most beautiful mv i've ever seen. like straight up. name a more beautiful video. (also sorry for bringing ateez into this. but imagine a youjeen jongho collaboration.. they would send us to another dimension with their vocals combined)
