It’s like you knew I was searching for something to watch at this very moment. 🙏 🫶

Ana 🌸

Yay!!!! Can’t wait to watch 😊

Lisa

Can always count on my fav reactor to provide 🙏🙏 are you still planning to watch the eras tour ttpd set with us?

Lisa

I was really disappointed by the talking sections - the more I listen the less it throws me, but still would’ve preferred her to keep the melody going

Bunny

"I'll figure out what I do with that patient zero bridge when I get back to it" LMAO, that's how I feel too. I enjoy the song so much, but that bridge throws me off. I almost forget about it each time I play the song because it feels so melodically disconnected...until I hear it again, of course. Either way, Patient Zero and Babylon are my favorite ones. The other two are just not ones I see myself listening to again

Jana Fuller

The new songs are definitely growers

Bee

not the kelce chestnuts 😭😭😭

Ab

THANK YOU! Agree TTPD, I always to back too.

Veronica Key

I had to pause to laugh so I wouldn’t miss anything. That took me out lol 😂

Caitlin Goerlich

Glad to see you react to the four songs. When I first listened to them, I enjoyed all four and had no issues with her bridges. I actually liked those parts, honestly. The only song that I was unsure of during my first listen was Pink Clouding, but that might just be because I wasn't really listening to it. I love Cleveland! because of how happy she is, and it's another Shake It Off to her haters. LOL. I do understand your reasoning for not enjoying Pink Clouding. Usually, Max Martin has a better way of producing, and I'm honestly wondering if this was more of what Taylor wanted as a production for the song, rather than him. My ranking of the four songs is: Cleveland! Patient Zero Babylon Pink Clouding

Jared

I agree the talk singing bridges took me out at first but the more I listen the more I get used to it. Babylon has been my favorite of these from first listen though.

Susan Deans

I get what you mean by the first 2 talk bridges. Especially that Cleveland! Announcement. But I actually LOVE the Pink Clouding bridge! To me that one is more like rapping and it’s definitely where she gets the most vulnerable in the song in my opinion. I do think they’re all more growers though

evelyn🌷

okay i just finished your reaction to the encore. i usually dislike talk singing in songs but i loveeee it here lol. pink clouding kinda took me out because i wasnt expecting the like rapping thing but it'a grown on me the more i listen. i def think these are growers, and may not be everyone's favorites but they're such a fun time.

Ana 🌸

Yes, the first song is the Toy Story song. She really is campaigning for an Oscar for it so I am not surprised she keeps performing it a lot! You should listen to it 😁

Rachel Shields

The bridge on Babylon took me out a few nights ago when I took a gummy hoping to vibe and ended up sobbing because I’ve personally let me own grief over infertility and loss make me not present even when I’m there with my daughter. The self harm of never being where you are... you’re missing all the best parts

AJ

the only part of the 4 songs i didn’t like was the bridge of patient zero. normally don’t mind talking parts but i agree it killed the momentum for me of an otherwise perfect song. loved everything else though. my ranking babylon patient zero cleveland pink clouding

Brooke Noelle

Pink Clouding production makes perfect sense to me. A ‘pink cloud’ is a deceptively positive time, just like the sound being deceptively positive. And THIS bridge works imo. It’s not just talking. Lots of rappers can’t even do that lol! Cleveland is like ME 2.0. I get what she’s doing. It almost feels like rage bait, which is honestly smart af. It’s also quintessential happy Taylor. Sonically, all those songs are in my bottom tier from her. Just not for me. Patient Zero is amazing!! …but the bridge is not right. People don’t like this syncopated off-beat talking style. It reminds me of Skinny Dipping by Sabrina Carpenter and Still by Noah Kahan. People hated the same thing in those songs too. Babylon is classic Tay. Beautiful. No notes. My breakdowns and opinions no one asked for lol! 🫶

Lisa

Michael you need to listen to I knew it I knew you in full!

Michael Beveraggi

Yeahh so the pink clouding bridge specifically grew on me a lot having listened to it a few more times! It is def more melodic. I may have just been where I was mentally after just hearing the patient zero bridge then Cleveland. Guess that’s what happens sharing a first time reaction but yeah I’m a lot more in on that song now!

Michael Beveraggi

Sending you the most massive hug, Rachel 🫂♥️ I hope you get to enjoy so much more of all the best parts

Hailey

i always love your honest takes! i felt the same way about all the talking on the first few listens, but they’re definitely growing :) also, would LOVE if you reacted to the patient zero music video! it’s my favorite one ever!! literally cinema

Personally not the biggest fan of these songs and I wasn’t of the whole of TLOAS. Most of the songs are really enjoyable sonically but I miss the lyrical depth of THE Taylor Swift. I don’t mean that in the way of cringy lyrics cause I agree she’s done lyricism like this on all of her albums for the lighter hearted songs. It’s more that on earlier projects we’d hear about her feelings, thoughts and fears, where TLOAS mainly feels like a response to the perception of her. Which is fair enough in her case to respond to it all, but it just misses for me personally. It’s as if she’s constantly proving how in love she is and “clapping back” to the haters instead of telling us how the love FEEELS like she used to do so much more. Besides that I really hate the talk/singing too and it almost sounds off tune in some places? Like the “so good” in the pink clouding pre-chorus sounds off to me. So yeah, I’m a bit disappointed in the songs but I believe she’ll be back for me :)

Kristi Noriega

The bridge in patient zero threw me off the first time too but now I’m obsessed with it! And I love Cleveland and Babylon my two favs! Don’t care much for Pink Clouding but maybe I still need to fathom..

Kaitlyn

I wanted to say how much I appreciate this comment. First, I agree with you on the Pink Clouding production and how well the bridge works in that one. But it's your thoughts on Patient Zero that really made me think. I loved the song and its bridge on first listen, and it never even occurred to me that it might not work for others. Hearing you explain what didn't click for you was a really interesting insight, especially with the parallels you drew to Skinny Dipping and Still. Your comment actually made me realize why I like the bridge so much. On tracks like this and Still, that syncopated, off-beat talking style makes things so much more interesting to me. Obviously, pop music is often built on being predictable enough that you can anticipate where the song is going, which is super satisfying on a first listen. But that predictability is also why some music critics or purists find it repetitive or boring. I often love that hallmark predictable pop sound but I also love when pop songs throw in a bit of a curveball, and that syncopated, off-beat talking style on Patient Zero (and Still) does exactly that. The track follows a perfect, catchy pop formula up until that point, making it a great choice for a single. But then the bridge is the one spot where Taylor decides to switch it up and challenge us more. I completely understand why that style doesn't work for everyone. If you are looking for a smooth pop beat, a sudden shift like that can feel like a wrench in a well-oiled machine. But for me, that jarring contrast provides just enough friction to keep the song interesting, especially in the long run. Because of that, there are probably some who are just never going to like that part of the song but for others I bet it will be a "grower". But yeah, I really appreciate getting to see the other side of how it hits on a first listen! (This also reminds me of how much I immediately loved the tempo change during Bon Iver's part of Evermore and was so surprised when I heard some fans complaining about it).

Honey

Feel like the music video helped me with the talking bit of patient zero haha

Juan Otero

Love the medley so magical

Christina Sullivan

Great reaction! I hope you do the Patient Zero music video!
