Remember my sewer disaster a year and a half ago? It's back. Long story short, the fix didn't go the way we hoped. I thought I'd bought myself a couple years, but I hadn't, and now we have to get it done right.

I'm only posting this here so you're aware; you're all already making my entire lifestyle possible, so please do not feel obligated, especially if you're financially strained yourself.

If there's anyone you can share with, that would be appreciated. I'm also considering doing some kind of begathon stream on my channel, hopefully that'll bring in some more support.

Fix My Sewer For Good, organized by Cathode Ray Dude

Hi, you may remember me from such gofundmes as "Replace My Sewer", about a year and a half ago... Cathode Ray Dude needs your support for Fix My Sewer For Good

To clarify, do you own the home with the broken sewer? If not, can you get your landlord to fix it? If you do, have you looked into a HELoC?

That sucks... I had a similar situation many years ago. I was living paycheck to paycheck and our sewage backed up into our basement. After the initial cleanout (the plumber allowed me to do payments), he said that we really should scope the line to see what is really going on but couldn't afford it at the time. Over the next 5 years or so, I dealt with a backup about every few months and I became an expert on water jetting my line. Fast forward and I was able to finally get the line scoped and come to find out the check valve failed and caused the backups! that was dealt with and with an end-to-end cleanout of the line and all has been good. Good luck with your funding, I have sent in a donation for the cause. Life just gets in the way... hang in there.

Sharing this on my Facebook page and donating. May you get every penny you need and then some.

This scares the hell out of me… I have a maple tree growing into my sewer line and I don’t even know how long I have til it starts backing up 😫

TJ

Holy shit, already $3400 of the way there, that’s amazing! Hoping everything gets sorted out this time.

"begathon stream" made me think of some absurd gimmick like "gravis changes games every $50 no matter what"

Sewer problems at my grandma inflicted tremendous generational trauma. I'm not fucking kidding. Fix this right!

Sorry for currently being able to give you only 15$. Hope you will be able to get the whole sum! And definitely try making a "content" out of this disaster, people love stuff like this, which will probably help you gather more funds.

I don't even understand why you would have to pay for this at all!? Isn't the sewer system a public utility provided by the city? Why do you have to pay for their shitty infrastructure!?

I'm not form the US, but that quote seems extremely high, here in the Netherlands we recently added a separate rain sewer over about the same length (if i calculated that correctly) and spent less than 1000 euro. Granted we did most of the work ourselves but we did hire a mini-digger to dig the trench, which is the most expensive part.

Having suffered sewer problems of my own, I can commiserate

Having had the shock of needing to drop 5 figures - on short notice, no less - on an unexpected house issue (in my case it was a roof, not a sewer issue), I totally sympathize and dropped you a donation.

I just joined; the last few of your videos I watched were so good I just wanted to support you! It's not a lot but I hope it helps. Hopefully the fix is more permanent this time!

For some reason I thought you needed 10,162 more when you were actually at a total of 10,162 so I donated 163 to make it 9999 but it went up to 10,325 lol, oh well. If someone wants to pony up $95 to get us to 10,420 that'd be great. Anyway, that's why it's such a weird amount. Good luck dude!
