Nia Honjo entered the apartment with her head in a book: a borderline-hentai ecchi mag she’d picked up from the local doujinshi stalls. Red-faced and snickering at every lewd little detail, she stumbled through the apartment, all but bumping into the walls and the furniture, and ended up at last in the living room, where she collapsed without thought onto the couch and sat reading.
(Nnnn~! G-get off! Get off!)
Several minutes later, she reached the end of the book, and with it, something as close to climax as you could reach without sticking your hand down your pants. Snapping it shut, she sat back, looked up at the ceiling, and exhaled a sigh of exhaustion. Oh, what she wouldn’t give for something like that to happen to her in real life…
Speaking of orgies, where was everybody? Sitting up, she looked around with a frown. At least one of the other Spirits should be around, shouldn’t they? Was she here on her own? Curious, she cocked her head and listened, but as far as she could tell, the house was as empty as a… as an empty thing. She couldn’t hear anybody. …So why had the door been open?
Belatedly, it occurred to her that she was sitting on a couch that hadn’t been there at all this morning. She stood and inspected it: orange and purple – not a color scheme she would have chosen herself, but at least it was comfortable. Oh, and hey, they had a new TV now too. The room looked a lot more complete now it had all the furnishings it had had until this morning.
Despite this, she couldn’t help but feel something was missing. Standing in the center, she spun in a circle, trying to figure it out.
Realization struck. Slamming her fist into her palm, she grinned. “Of course! That’s what it’s missing!” She held up her pornmag. “Somewhere to put all my literature!”
…Well, maybe not this particular piece of literature. That would be better suited to the trunk under her bed. But she had plenty of other stuff!
“Hmm…” Scratching her chin, she scanned the room with fresh eyes, searching, searching, for the best spot to place it. Where should it go…? Where should it go…? Where…? Aha!
Her eyes settled onto a perfect patch of empty space by the left wall, right between the window and the door to the hall. Approaching it, she grinned. A bookcase would be perfect here!
She tried to imagine it, closing her eyes to get a better picture. She didn’t need anything too fancy, of course – a plain shelf would do, so long as it had plenty of space on it. She had a lot of books waiting to be put on it, after all.
The longer she pictured it, the clearer her image of the bookshelf became: tall and thin, with different shades of wood: grey and beige and a brown so deep it was practically black. Oh, and some lovely gold filigree on the sides – that would just be perfect. Perfect.
Absently, without even realizing she was doing it, she approached the spot and turned so that her back was facing the wall. Placing her hands against her sides, she snapped her legs straight and squeezed them together, hard, as if she were trying to see which was stronger. It was this that finally snapped her out of her reverie.
“H-huh?” Opening her eyes, she blinked. What was she doing? Why was she standing by the wall now? Had she been sleepwalking? Daydreaming? Daywalking?
She tried to raise her legs, but they were stuck to the ground like they’d been glued. Gritting her teeth, she strained, but it made no difference – she was locked in position like a soldier at attention, unable to leave without her commander’s permission. “H-hey!”
As she squirmed, trying to peel her arms from her sides and her feet from the floor, a strange tingling sensation passed through her. A little like an electrical shock, but much longer and more – ah! – m-more pleasurable. Blushing, she chewed her lip to keep herself from crying out. What the heck was happening now?
Someone grabbed her. Two people, or at least that was what it felt like. Seizing her arms, they tightened their grips, made sure they were steady, and without waiting for her permission, tugged like they were trying to tear her in half. Nia squealed. “St-stop! Stop! Wh-what are you doing?!”
She didn’t tear, as it happened. But what she did was almost worse: like a rubber band, she stretched, stretched to three times her former width if not more so, her features splayed across the giant plain of her new form. “H-hey!” she cried, through a mouth over a foot in diameter. “St-stop it!”
The invisible hands tugged and tugged her and tugged and, at last satisfied, released her. Unlike the rubber band, she didn’t snap back into place – in fact, she remained as wide as ever. Now, instead of stretching her, her invisible manipulators grasped her and squeezed, pushing down on her head till its crown was smushed flat and squeezing her sides inwards till they were just as smooth as well. By the time they released her again, she’d been reduced to a cuboid a couple meters tall, maybe two thirds of that in width, and a foot or so thick. Looking down at herself, she moaned. She’d always complained about how skinny she was, but this was ridiculous!
As if it had heard, whatever bizarre force was at work on her placed it hands on her chest now. She squealed – it wasn’t often people groped her – and, as she stared in shock, it pushed downward, downward, down, forcing her already flat chest so flat it concaved. Nia squealed. There was no pain, but it was just so strange. The magic’s fingers were wriggling around inside her, each little tickle and twitch bringing her fresh pangs of pleasure.
By the time they stopped, her once-modest bust had disappeared entirely, replaced by a perfectly cuboid basin that stretched all the way from one shoulder to another. Nia stared at it, gaping in shock, and the force took its chance to press its hands into her face as well, cutting her cries off with one last little splutter.
Her face, her stomach, her groin, and her thighs, and lastly her lower legs. In each spot, it pressed in, squishing her oh-so-malleable flesh into her body, leaving deep hollows which it then worked around, forcing outward, out, till the edges reached her sides, leaving inch thick walls of her flesh between its depression.
Slowly, Nia realized what was happening to her. Because she’d seen things with this size and shape and with this series of hollow spaces inside it before not long ago, not minutes ago in fact. In her own imagination.
A bookcase, she thought, the eyes smushed to the back of her top shelf widening in shock. It was making her into a bookcase, just like she’d imagined! Only, why?! What would even do that?! What in the name of God was going on?!
Finishing its work on her lower legs, the strange pressure relented. But the strange force clearly wasn’t done with her, because a second later, a new pressure struck her from toes up to head, making her feel like her every cell would explode on her. Trembling, she gasped, certain she’d burst at any second.
Just like that, the pressure inverted. Her cells didn’t explode, but collapsed in on themselves and froze. Her gasp cut off, silenced, as the mouth producing it shrank into her face as a whorl in her new wood. Nia tried to speak, to move, but she couldn’t produce even the slightest whimper.
At last, the sensation faded. At the second last, just as she thought it might be over, her head started to ache. A million images filled her mind in an instant, threatening to swell her skull until it popped out right. Images of boobs, of butts, and penises a-and vaginas! Ideas she’d had f-for doujins! All of her most secret ideas that she’d never dared to tell anyone!
With a little flash, a book appeared on her bottom shelf. And then a second appeared beside it and a third beside that, and a fourth, and– Book by book, shelf by shelf, they filled her, leaving her whining as they filled her swollen hole of her sex and breasts and at last to squeal in silence as they blocked up her face and left her staring into muffled darkness.
H-hey! Nnn~! T-take them – Nnn! – away!

The sun hung low in the sky, slowly sliding over the horizon, as Origami and the others finally returned to the apartment.
“Ah~,” she said, coiling her arm around Shido’s. “What a wonderful date that was, Shido…”
“It would have been ever better if it were just the two of us, Shido,” said Tohka, squeezing his other arm.
Origami snorted. “It definitely would have been better without you there.” She tugged Shido back.
“As if! I was the only part Shido liked, wasn’t I, Shido?”
Shido, caught between them, risked a glance over his shoulder. “K-Kotori? A little help?”
She plucked her lollipop from her mouth with a pop. “I think you’ll survive without me.”
They reached the apartment. The door was unlocked, but to Origami’s surprise, nobody greeted them when they entered. Nor were the lights on, despite the dark.
“Hello?” called Shido, flicking them on himself. “Heeeeeeeelloooooooo? Is anyone here?” No-one responded.
“That’s odd,” said Origami. “Perhaps they decided to go out. But why would they go out without us?”
“We did go out without them,” said Kotori.
Frowning, they set out, searching for their fellow friends, Spirits, and/or harem-members. But no matter how hard they looked, they found no sign of them.
Passing through the kitchen, Origami took note of the sink. Clearly Ratatoskr’s renovators had returned – perhaps it was them who’d left the door open.
The living room confirmed her suspicions. Not only had the couch and the TV been replaced, but the renovators had added a beanbag chair and a new bookshelf as well. How kind of them.
Shido and the others soon joined her. “Well, this is nice,” said Shido, picking up one of the couch’s cushions and fluffing it.
(Sh-Shido! Ooooh! H-harder! Harder!)
“Yeah,” said Kotori, throwing herself into the beanbag with a whumpf. “The colors are a little strange though.”
(Nnn! Get your buttocks off me, you little–!)
Origami couldn’t really disagree with that. She took a seat on the couch, letting her butt sink into its smooth, soft cushion. It was nice, though it would need a little more use to be truly comfortable.
(H-hey! G-get off! Get off!)
“What’s the matter, Tohka?” asked Shido.
Origami raised an eyebrow. Her fellow Spirit stood in the doorway, looking pale and unwell. “N-nothing,” she said. “It’s just… for a second, I thought…” She shook her head. “It’s nothing. Just my imagination playing tricks on me.”
“The same way it makes you think Shido might prefer you to me?” As Tohka spluttered, she stood. “I’m going to take a shower.”
Heading upstairs, she came to a stop on the landing and stood frowning. Was it just her, or had there been more rooms on this floor before? Perhaps her imagination was playing tricks on her.
Folding her arms, she counted them, just to be sure. One, two… Three… There had been more rooms before! Now there was just the bathroom, a study, and a single master bedroom. Had the renovators merged all of the old bedrooms together? But why would they do that? Why–?
A thought occurred to her. The renovators had been sent by Ratatoskr. Perhaps Ratatoskr had a reason for her and Shido and all of the other Spirits to sleep in the same room together. Blushing, she chewed her thumb. No. No, that couldn’t be the reason, could it? Surely they’d never do something so lew– What was she saying? Of course they would!
T-there was only one way to confirm it. Taking a deep breath, Origami approached the master bedroom. All she had to do was take a peek inside and see what kind of bed Ratatoskr had provided. If it were any larger than a single…
With a cry of rage, she kicked the door open.
And froze on the threshold, squinting in suspicion.
The bed wasn’t larger than a single. Because the bed didn’t exist, which is to say, there wasn’t one. Nor was there much in the way of other furniture: to her surprise, the room was almost empty. Apart from a wardrobe and a chest of drawers, the thing was practically barren.
Closing the door behind her, she strode into the center and looked around, unable to believe what she was seeing. It was just like the living room had looked this morning, only… Only they hadn’t needed the living room this morning. Where was Ratatoskr expecting them all to sleep tonight? On the couch? It wouldn’t fit more than two of them!
She thought about this. Perhaps, if she were clever enough, she could lock all the other Spirits outside… Then it would just be her and Shido, her and Shido, free to share the couch together. She blushed at the thought.
This decided, she turned to leave. In the process, however, she happened to catch something: a particular absence that, for some reason, hooked her eyes and held them as tight as a fish on the line.
This room was really missing a bedside cabinet.
Turning back, she marched over to the hypothetical spot it should stand. She didn’t know why the absence of a bedside cabinet should stand out to her so strongly. After all, there wasn’t even a bed yet, so why should it matter that there wasn’t a cabinet to stand beside it? Yet for some reason, it simply leapt out at her, leapt out and stabbed her in the heart, demanding her attention like some awful cosmic injustice. The room needed a bedside cabinet. It needed one, more than it needed anything.
She tried to picture what it should look like:
Light wood. Three drawers. Maybe some golden highlighting? Yes, that would be perfect.
Her heart thudding in her chest, Origami approached the spot where it should stand and turned so her back was to the wall. Standing there, she sighed in relief. It was as if, in assuming the spot, the cosmic crime she’d identified had in small sense been righted. She couldn’t imagine how, but simply by standing there, she’d made everything better.
She crumpled.
Origami’s eyes snapped open. A terrible pressure assaulted her from above and from the sides, squeezing her tighter and tighter. Her legs crumpled like cans, her arms flattened into her sides, and her chin ended up wedged between her breasts, which themselves were crushed practically flat against her. She screamed, more in shock than in pain – she looked like she’d stumbled into a car crusher.
She tried to open her mouth and scream, but she just didn’t have the space for it anymore. Everything was so tight. Nnnn~! Screwing her eyes tight, she squirmed, trying to move, but all she could do was shake a little. How was this possible?! And why did it feel so good?! Nnnn~!
Her clothes, as if inspired by the contortion of her flesh, grew tighter too, squeezing her skin till the two seemed to fuse, while her nipples, barely poking over her knees, thickened into clumps of solid flesh like two tight fists ready to punch someone. The ecstasy was so strong she wanted to scream.
As she sat there whimpering and trembling, her swollen nipples twitched harder and harder, and finally, with an overly dramatic pop, split in two. As she stared in shock, her new nipples migrated slowly upward, pushed her face to the upper edge and corners of her cubic new form in the process, and her original nipples, twitching again, multiplied once more. She squealed in internal ecstasy as these new ones slid downward, assuming a place near what had been her ankles.
A sudden emptiness in her head, as if someone had drilled a hole in her skull and let all her thoughts pour out. Her vision swam – she struggled to think. And no sooner had the moment passed than she felt something very similar in her gut and in her sex, as if she’d gone without food or the slightest sexual pleasure for a decade. She screamed again, whimpering in pent-up hunger and desire. Nnnnn~! Someone…! S-someone fill me! Please…!
The hollows reached her front, and with a crack, her skin split. As if cut by a knife, three rectangles carved themselves into being in her, and as the blade finally withdrew, she shuddered, making these new pieces of herself judder in their holes. Wh-what exactly did it just…?
A wave of tingling attacked her, as if an army of ants were swarming over her skin. As she squealed as the sensation, her flesh froze, losing all its remaining softness, and took on the darker shade and whorls of treated wood. She tried one final time to scream, but all she achieved was one final clatter of compartments, one final shudder, and with that, she could neither move nor make any further sound at all.
At last, however, the strange feeling pervading her body faded. Mentally, Origami panted for breath. Wh-what happened to me?! What have I turned into?! P-please, please, someone help me! Shido! Shido, where are you?! Shido…!
Footsteps on the stairs. Origami held her breath. Please…
