Reaching the landing, Kotori furrowed her brow. What had happened to her bedroom? Why were there only three rooms up here now? What the hell had the renovators done here? When she next talked to her superiors, she was going to–
She paused on the final step, tapping her arm in thought. Origami had come up here to take a shower, supposedly. So why was there no light on in the bathroom? Had she finished already and retired to bed? But if she had, why hadn’t she come downstairs and told them about the changes? Ugh, she could be so uncommunicative sometimes!
She needed to pee, so she made her way to the bathroom herself, but she couldn’t help taking a peek into the other rooms on the way. One was a simple study – Nia would really enjoy it, once she got back – and the other was…
Opening the door, Kotori frowned. …A bedroom. Missing the central feature of a bedroom. Though bizarrely it still had the bedside cabinet. One with an absurd color scheme like the furniture downstairs, even.
Approaching it, she wrenched open the top drawer. Empty, of course. She didn’t know what she’d been expecting. She checked the others too, but they were just the same.
(Ow! Ow! K-Kotori! Kotori, let go…!)
Closing them, she frowned. Was that Origami she could hear squealing? She risked a glance in the direction of the bathroom. Maybe she was in there. Thinking of Shido and having a little fun with Mr. Showerhead.
Blushing at the thought, she turned back to the cabinet. Ignoring the obvious answer of the bed, the room was missing something, and it was something that should sit right here on this empty little cabinet. What was it though…? She clucked her tongue in thought. An alarm clock? No, no-one in this house really needed an alarm clock. But if it wasn’t an alarm clock, then what…?
She slammed her fist into her palm. A lamp! Of course it was a lamp – she should have guessed that from the start. Yes, she could see it there already: a cute little red-shaded lamp lighting up the room with its glow. It would be perfect.
Grinning at the idea, she clambered up onto the cabinet and turned to face the door. This done, she slammed her legs as tightly together as they’d go and pressed her arms against her sides even harder. And stood there, rigid as an oak tree, grinning at the thought of her perfect, perfect lamp.
(H-Hey! Get off me! Kotori!)
Several seconds into this, she realized how absurd it was. What the hell was she doing?! Why was she roleplaying a bedside lamp? Red with embarrassment at the thought of the other Spirits seeing her, she tried to leap off, but her body refused to move – it was like she’d been wrapped in invisible manacles and chains.
“H-hey!” With little freedom she had left, she squirmed, but her restraints were unbreakable. “H-hey! S-somebody help me! Somebody!”
Kotori’s head exploded.
It happened all at once, in a single, shocking burst. One second she was looking down at her nose, and the next it was sailing away from her eyes as her head swelled like a balloon. She squealed and tried to clasp it, but of course she couldn’t do that either.
As her head, stretching, moving her eyes farther and farther apart, her vision warped, splitting the room in half. She drew in the air to scream, and her swollen mouth sucked it up like a vacuum. “Ah-aahhhh!”
Her feet twitched. Tingled. And with her shoes, fused into a single clump of a foot, which promptly fanned outward, encircling her legs as a wide, slopping stand. She tried to tear it apart, but it refused to be moved.
She tried to peel her hands away from her sides too, but that was just as ineffective. With every moment, they pressed a little harder into her sides, flattening out and finally melting away entirely. Soon, only the faintest remnant of them remained.
Her hair shot up like she’d spent too long in a thunderstorm, and promptly styled itself into a haircut unlike any she’d ever seen before: forming a ring around the barren circle of her crown, it snapped straight, leaving her looking like she’d balanced a big red bowl on her head. She moaned. “Wh-what–?!”
Her cry turned into a moan as her head lit up like a… like a light-y thing. In an instant, she could barely think. It was like her brain was glowing and all her thoughts were so super-sparkly and…
Her eyes glazed over. As did, a moment later, the rest of her giggling face. Frozen in its mask of delight, it melted into the rest of her head as it turned translucent. If she’d still had the sense to look down, she might have seen the shining wires glowing inside it.
Farther down, her lower body tingled and turned bright, bronze, and burnished as a candlestick, and her pussy burned, though by now she was so light-headed she barely noticed it. Not even when it disgorged a plug and a cable, which stretched down from the cabinet and plugged itself into the wall.
At last, as she screamed in mindless bliss, the cone of her hair dropped down and covered her former head almost entirely. Reducing her light to a lower, more comfortable level.
Just like that, it snapped off. Kotori blinked as her thoughts returned to her. H-huh?! Wh-what’s– What’s going on now?! Where am I?! Why can’t I see?! What’s this stupid red thing in front of me…?! Shido!
…Shido!

Kurumi Tokisaki sailed over Tengu City like a giant, silent bird.
Landing on the rooftop neighboring the Itsuka Residence, she paused, observing the building carefully. She’d sensed an enormous burst of Reiryoku this morning, but she’d been too busy dealing with DEM’s theatrics to investigate until now.
How best to enter and investigate? If the building had been trapped, the front door was likely dangerous – the safest option would be to approach from above and enter through one of the bedroom windows…
Spying one, she floated across the gap and, finding it unlocked, wrenched it open.
Landing with a thud on the floorboards of the room, she looked around and frowned. She’d assumed it was a bedroom, and though it resembled one in certain respects, it was missing many of the more pertinent features, not least the one that gave the room its name.
Folding her arms, she sniffed. There was a definite tang of Reiryoku to the air, a recent burst, now fading fast. If her senses weren’t deceiving her, it was coming from…
There. The strangely-colored cabinet standing by the far wall. Approaching it, she caught a distinct whiff of Reiryoku. Something magical had happened here, and not too long ago.
Like the rest of the bedroom, the cabinet seemed strangely barren. There was nothing on top of it but a single lamp with a bright red lampshade, and when she checked the drawers, she found them empty too. It was like the whole room had been fitted out by the world’s cheapest furnishers.
(K-K-Kurumi?! Wh-what are you–?! Nnn~! Wait, you’ve got to help us! Kumuri, please…!)
There was something else that was missing too, though it took her a second to put her finger on it. What else did bedside cabinets have that wasn’t to be found on this one…? Ah! Of course – it was obvious when you thought about it: an alarm clock! Oh, she could picture it already: a beautiful black– no, dark red! – alarm clock, perfect for waking up the bedroom’s owner in the morning. Perfect.
Humming to herself, Kurumi clambered onto the cabinet – taking care not to knock the lamp off – turned to face the wall, and bent her legs, tucking herself neatly into a ball. There, she thought, staring at the door. Perfect.
(Nnn~! No! Not you too!)
She blinked. What– What was she doing? Why was she kneeling on a cabinet?
And why– Nn~! – why couldn’t she move?!
Eyes flashing in panic, she squirmed, trying to pull herself free, but it was no good: it was like she’d been trapped in a tiny cube – she could barely move more than a millimeter. She tried to invoke her Angel, but she couldn’t do that either. What was going on?! Was this some kind of attack?
Sweating, she sucked in a breath. Should she call for help? Ah, but she didn’t want the others to see her like this!
The invisible cube trapped her grew a little tighter, making her squeak. Heart pounding, skin drenched in sweat, Kurumi took another deep breath. To hell with her pride, she needed help. Help. “He–!”
Her cage collapsed, crushing her like a can. Her voice cut off with one last little squeal as she crumpled, instantly reduced to a cuboid of flesh barely a tenth of her former size. Her head ended up smushed into her breasts, her legs folded into her vagina, her arms tucked neatly into her butt, while her dress spread to wrap neatly around her, as if she were a package being prepped for the mailbox. Only her eyes remained peering out of the gap on her front side.
Nnn~! Unable to speak, she moaned inside instead. The pressure on her body… The way she’d been all folded and smushed… Nnnn~! It should have hurt, but instead it felt incredible; she wanted to throw back her head and scream in wild lust. Nnnnn~! Someone help me…!
Her insides tingled; she gasped, struggling to process the feeling. It felt like she’d been electrocuted, only instead of hurting, it was– Nnnnnnnah! Ah! Oh! Oh! Oh my G–!
The sensation spread out from her nerves to her skin, and with a cracking, her dress hardened, freezing into something much glossier. At the same time, her vision swam; her eyes glazed over. And spread, from a pair of orbs to two large squares that on meeting each other merged, forming a single wide rectangle. She blinked, and it turned black. Flickered. Regained some color.
With that, the change seemed to come to an end. Kurumi tried to squirm, but she could no longer do even that – all she could do was sit there and–
Her eyes flickered. She squinted, trying to figure out what was happening. Were they changing shape? But why–?
Panic overwhelmed her.
Somebody! Anybody! Help me!
