Chapter 1: A Trip & a New Friend

(Next Morning)

With our deadline to save Luna’s mom soon approaching, we got up early in the morning and after having a delicious breakfast made by Popsey we had the elf Apparate us to Ottery St. Catchpole, where the Weasleys and Lovegoods were known to live.

‘Fuck Apparition!’ I silently cursed once we reached our destination while holding my head in slight pain. ‘As soon as I’m able to I’m learning a new method of teleportation even if I have to invent it.’

Acquired Skill: Pain Tolerance, Acquired Skill: Disease Resistance, Acquired Skill: Shock Resistance, Acquired Skill: Space Resistance

“Ugh, that was unpleasant.” Maya seemed to agree with my thought as well as she now found herself sitting on the ground while holding her stomach in pain.

“We’ll take the Knight Bus on the way back.” I muttered after taking a deep breath feeling better now after acquiring all those skills and once again thankful for my foresight on getting Suzuki Ichirou’s Template.

“Good…Now do you know where this family lives?” Maya asked getting back onto her feet and looking curiously at our surroundings.

“Yes, somewhat. The Lovegoods live on top of a hill with a stream at the base of it located near the village up ahead.” I said recounting what I knew about the place and starting walking in direction of the village.

Thankfully Popsey had only dropped us off a few minutes from the village before going back home to resume her duties at my request.

“How will we know which house they live in though? There must be dozens of houses based on your description.” Maya asked curiously while falling into step with me.

“Hahaha trust me, their house will be super easy to spot. If everything is as I remembered than their house looks like a giant chess rook.” I said in amusement recalling that particular detail.

“A rook huh? They sound like interesting people.”

“What I’m more worried about is your appearance. People of this era are not exactly accepting of people with strange features.” I said looking at her pointed red ears and her slitted golden eyes.

“Don’t worry too much Master~” Maya said in return rubbing her head against my shoulder in affection. “We won’t be going to the village so the chances of a muggle seeing me are very low and based on what little you said about them I’m guessing they won’t have a problem with me even if they figure out what I am.”

“If you say so but just in case, here.” I said handing her one of my hoodies. “Never hurts to be cautious right?”

“Aww thanks for worrying about me Master~” Maya cooed with a lovestruck look on her face taking the hoodie from my arms and pulling it over her head with the top now covering her ears.

“You’re welcome. Now come on, if the deadline is tomorrow then that means we must find the house quickly if we don’t want to fail the mission.” I urged keeping my eyes open for any hilltops I could see while I walked a little faster.

“Coming~”

=====

(Luna POV)

“Luna, dear~ Time for breakfast~”

Hearing the voice of her mommy, Luna blinked her eyes open leaving the land of dreams and being greeted to the sight of a new day.

Minutes later after taking care of changing out of her pajamas and using the loo, Luna made her way down stairs and to the kitchen where she found her mother just finishing up with breakfast.

“Good morning, dear~ Have a seat, breakfast is ready.” Pandora Lovegood greeted her with a sunny smile on her face that never ceased to lift up Luna’s spirits whenever she saw it.

“Morning, mommy. Where’s daddy?” Luna asked as she made her way into her seat and happily dug into her breakfast.

“He went to the city to get some supplies for his work. He should be back by lunch time.”

Happy with the response Luna focused back on her meal with all other thoughts leaving her mind.

Half an hour later with breakfast out of the way, Luna now found herself in her mother’s workshop watching her mother experiment on something from a safe distance away as told by her mommy.

“Mommy can I go play with Ginevra later?” Luna sked swinging her feet back and forth on the chair she was sitting on.

“Sure sweety. As soon as daddy comes home.” Pandora answered her distractedly as she meddled with something on her workshop. “What if I do this…Then like this…”

The next few moments all occurred in a flash and it was something that Luna would always remember for as long as she lived.

First Luna was startled by a sudden explosion causing her to go deaf and blind for a few seconds. When she regained her senses, Luna saw her mother Pandora slumped against the opposite wall unconscious and bleeding from a big wound on her chest.

The next moment Luna found herself standing in front of her mother frantically trying to wake her up having crossed the distance between them without having noticed.

“MOMMY, ARE YOU OKAY?! PLEASE WAKE UP!” Luna yelled with tears rolling down her eyes as she held her hands against the big wound one her mommy’s chest trying futilely to stop her from bleeding.

“D-DADDY! SOMEONE! PLEASE H-HELP MY MOMMY!”

!!CRASH!!

Blinking in surprise, Luna looked up before hearing footsteps rapidly approaching her location causing her eyes to light up in hope at the possibility of her daddy being home and healing mommy.

A moment later the door to the workshop opened in a bang before a young boy about her age with black hair and blue eyes came running in holding an intricate white and golden staff in his hands. Before she knew it the stranger was hovering over her mother with the staff glowing a soft white color.

“Please help my mommy. She w-won’t wake up and she won’t stop bleeding!” Luna pleaded with a stutter to the stranger not caring about who he was as long as he helped her mother.

“Don’t worry. Your mom is going to be just fine.” The boy reassured her with a smile before focusing again on his task with Luna hearing the boy mutter the word ‘Curaga’ under his breath.

Apparently, that was some type of spell because the next instant the white glow coming from the boy’s staff got even brighter causing Luna to close her eyes due to the brightness.

“That should take care of it.” Luna heard the boy mutter before the bright glow receded.

Tentatively Lina blinked her eyes open and when she wasn’t immediately blinded by a bright light, she proceeded to open them the whole way before she directed her gaze at her mother.

Looking down at her mother Luna couldn’t help but cry again at what she saw. The horrible wound on her stomach was now completely healed with only the blood left as proof of what had occurred and a second later something even more incredible happened.

“L-Luna…” Luna heard the voice of her mummy as she slowly awakened as if she was just sleeping and not in fact had a horrible accident.

“MOMMY!” Unable to help herself, Luna launched herself at her mother and hugged her as tight as she could never wanting to let her go.

=====

(Regular POV)

“Haah, I was able to make it.” I muttered in relief glad that I had made it just in time before Pandora died in Luna’s arms mentally scarring the girl.

We had been searching for Luna’s home without success for about an hour before Maya suddenly picked up the sound of an explosion with her enhanced senses. Getting a bad feeling we immediately ran all the way here making it in a few minutes before we ran into another problem, that being the locked door.

Without another option and knowing that every second we delayed Pandora could come closer to dying, Maya had kicked the door open with a surprising amount of strenght.

Which all leads us into now watching as Pandora slowly regained consciousness after being healed by the most potent healing spell I knew at the moment that left me feeling drained.

“Are you alright young man? You look a little pale.”

Apparently, I must have been more tired than I thought because I didn’t even notice that Pandora was now sitting down with Luna in her lap and both looking at me with thankful if curious faces.

‘Wow, so this is where Luna got her looks from. Not bad.’ I thought privately looking at the pretty blonde woman that looked like an elder version of her daughter.

“I’m alright thank you. Just a little tired. The spell I used to heal you took a lot out of me.” I said letting out a tired sigh and feeling like my body was made out of jello before offering the duo a tired smile.

“Enough about me however.” I said with a shake of my head and started inspecting the woman to see if I had missed anything in my rush. “How are feeling ma’am? Are other pains or aches?”

“Huhuhu such a kind young man. I’m feeling all better now thanks to you. Now would you please be kind enough to tell us your name? I’m Pandora Lovegood and this is my little Luna.” Pandora chuckled with a warm look in her eyes as she introduced herself and her daughter.

“Thank you for saving mommy.” Luna said next with a huge smile on her face.

I tried my best to ignore how even covered in blood and with tear stains on their face, the duo still managed to portray a vision of purity. “You’re welcome.” I said directing a small smile Lunas way before looking at the two.

“Ahem, nice to meet you both. I’m Aether Cordelia and even though it’s too late to say this I apologize for barging into your home unannounced.” I apologized with a small bow of my head.

“Bright upper sky. Your name really suits you Aether Cordelia.” Luna muttered absentmindedly while looking at me strangely.

“You have nothing to apologize for. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be talking here with you right now so please don’t worry about that. Now am I to assume that the cute redhead looking at us from the behind door is with you?” Pandora asked looking slightly behind me with a smile on her face.

Turning myself, I saw Maya with her head poking slightly inside the door. Noticing our gazes Maya let out a sheepish smile before making her way inside the room with the hood over her head covering her pointed ears.

“Hello there. I’m Maya~” Maya greeted the two with a cheery wave of her hand as she stood behind me.

“Sorry about that, Maya is a little shy.” I said and attempted to get back on my feet only to fail as the strength in my legs gave out.

“Whoa, easy there Aether. I got you.” Maya said immediately at my side with one hand around my back.

“Thanks Maya.” I thanked the girl glad that even in this form Maya still retained the strength of her original one.

“Are you leaving already?” Pandora asked also getting back on her feet and setting down Luna next to her. “Won’t you please stay at least until after lunch? I’d like to at least thank my savior with a meal, right Luna?”

“Please stay?” Luna pleaded joining her mother in giving us a look comparable to that of begging puppies.

Seeing such an expression I let out a sigh before nodding my head in agreement getting a cheer from the two blondes.

“YAY~”

=====

“So, what was the magic you used to heal mommy? It looked really pretty.” Luna asked me curiously a while later as we sat in her room while Pandora made lunch and cleaned up the mess.

I had offered to help of course but she had vehemently refused before sending us to Luna’s room to play.

“Hmm can you keep a secret Luna?” I asked after thinking about it for a while on whether I should tell her or not.

“Mmn don’t worry I won’t tell anyone. Other than mommy and daddy, Ginevra is the only other person I talk to anyways.” Luna assured us with a nod casually revealing that she only had one friend.

“You know Luna…if you want, we could be your friends.” I offered the girl ignoring her question for now.

“I don’t see why not.” Maya also agreed with a shrug.

“Really?” Luna asked with her eyes wide in surprise as if she couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

Hearing her say that I withheld the urge to frown knowing that Luna was a very lonely child up until 4th or 5th year when she befriended Harry and the rest.

“Of course, Luna.” I reassured the girl with a nod of my head with Maya doing the same to my side.

“Yay, two new friends~” Luna cheered with a big smile on her face and her eyes brightening in happiness.

“Can I see your hand, Luna?” I asked with a sudden thought and a moment later I was presented with Luna’s small pale hand making me blink in surprise at how she had not even hesitated in doing so.

‘Might as well.’ I thought silently and pulled the Stamp from my pocked before Stamping Luna in the back of the hand leaving a red bird like tattoo in its place to the curious eyes of Luna.

“Think of this as a symbol of our new friendship and know that you will never be alone again.” I explained briefly with a knowing tone making Luna blink in curiosity before looking at mine and Maya’s hand as if searching for something.

Knowing what she was looking for, Maya proudly pulled back the sleeve of her right hand showing an identical tattoo as the one Luna had just received. Following along I nonchalantly Stamped the back of my right hand knowing that the Stamp was practically useless against me but nonetheless it served to prove my point.

Satisfied with what she found Luna nodded her head and brought up her right hand up to her chest and held it gently.

“Ahem, getting back on track to your original question. I was able to heal your mother because I have the ability to use White Magic.” I said bringing the attention back to myself.

“White Magic? I’ve never heard of that type of magic before.” Luna said with a tilted head trying to recall if such a magic existed.

“That’s because as far as I’m aware I’m the only person alive in this world able to use such magic.” I explained with a mysterious smile on my face causing Maya to giggle in amusement next to me.

“Woooow~ How does White Magic work?” Luna asked with her eyes shining in excitement at learning something new.

“Hahaha yeah, you’ll definitely be in Ravenclaw when you attend Hogwarts.” I commented with a small chuckle before shaking my head and explaining how White Magic worked in terms she could understand. Basically being a magic used to heal and against the undead.

“Is that why you use a staff instead of a wand?” Luna asked curiously after I finished explaining looking at my staff that was on the ground next to me.

“Correct. While I don’t really need it, the staff helps me focus my magic for the more advanced spells.” I said with a nod glad that my Template actually came with a staff ready for me to use as it would suck if I had to build my own.

“What about…”

I was suddenly bombarded with a slew of questions and spent the next half an hour trying to answer as best as I could with Maya quickly becoming bored and cuddling up to my side and falling asleep.

=====

(Several Hours Later)

“Bye Aether. Bye Maya. See you at Hogwarts.” Luna waved us goodbye from her spot by her parents’ side.

“Thanks again Aether. Please don’t forget that you and Maya are always welcomed into our home whenever you want.” Pandora said next with a smile on her face.

“It is as my wife said. You will always be welcomed in our home Aether, Maya. Thanks again for saving my wife.” Xenophilius thanked us last with a small bow of his head standing next to his wife and daughter.

‘Yep, this proves that even when his wife was alive, he was still a weirdo.’ I thought blankly looking at the ridiculous looking yellow robe he was wearing.

The man had arrived just before we had lunch and we were introduced to him where he went on to shake my hand so enthusiastically, I was afraid he might dislocate it.

“Thank you. See you, Luna.” I said with a small wave of my hand before we made our way out of their house and into town.

“Well, we cut it a bit close but overall, this was a profitable trip for us.” Maya commented with a smile as she snuggled up to my side.

“Yes.” I nodded my head in agreement at managing to Stamp the whole family. “Though I can’t help but think that Pandora knew you weren’t human.”

“I know what you mean. She would sometimes send me these weird looks.”

“Haah, it doesn’t matter. Their already Stamped. Once the effects kick in, it will ensure they won’t betray us. Besides the capture of Luna also gave us another boon.” I said pulling up my phone and looking at the completed objective under the No Fate Mission giving us Trace Defense II for free.

“Nice, we lucked out~”

When we arrived in town, I pulled out my ‘mother’s old wand and stuck it in the air and just waited. A few minutes later a purple triple-decker bus pulled up in front of us and a young man stepped out.

“Welcome to the Knight Bus, emergency transport for the stranded with or wizard. Just stick out your wand hand, and we can take you anywhere you want to go. My name is Stan Shunpike, and I will be your conductor this evening.”

‘We lucked out indeed.’ I thought silently looking at my next capture target and letting a small smirk grace my lips.
