Chapter 11: New Semester
(Week Later)
With the removal of Quirrelmort, things had finally calmed down in regards to Harry trying to find his way into the Forbidden corridor, the kid too busy with the rest of the school speculating what had happened to the professor.
Not that there was anything to find anymore in the Forbidden corridor anyway.
Asako after Stamping Quirrel, had headed into the trapped door and managed to make it through all the obstacles in place before arriving in the room with the Mirror or Erised. Since Asako needed the stone but didn’t intend to use it, she had passed the enchantment that Dumbledore had used as a defense and I was now the proud owner of the Philosopher Stone.
It had been funny seeing how pale Dumbledore was for almost a week straight after acquiring the stone probably nervous that Voldemort had gotten possession of it.
Having some free time on my hands, I was leading Daphne along to a private place to speak at her request. Back at the return feast for the new semester, I had found a note in my pockets from Daphne requesting to meet whenever I had the chance.
Coming to a stop at a dead end with a cabinet to the side, I turned back to Daphne who was looking around in confusion as to why we had stopped here.
“Why did we stop?”
“Shh,” I brought up my finger to my lips signaling her to be quiet as I made sure we weren’t followed or there were not any portraits nearby even checking my map.
When I was sure the coast was clear, I turned to the cabinet and pulled out my wand changing hands of the clocks to the correct position. When I did that, the cabinet opened revealing the inside of the cabinet with it having just enough space for two.
Turning to the now blinking Daphne I smiled and teasingly bowed my head. “After you, my lady~”
Rolling her eyes at my antics Daphne stepped forward into the cabinet, turned around and looked at me with a raised eyebrow as if asking ‘is this it?’.
Letting out a small chuckle I stepped in myself causing Daphne to blush since the small space forced us to be standing shoulder to shoulder.
“It’s a lift.” I muttered quietly in her ear causing her to shiver.
Fortunately for her, she was saved from further teasing as the door closed and the lift headed down surrounding us in darkness. We stayed silent for the next minute or so before the lift came to a stop and the door opened again leading to the Undercroft.
A hidden room that had been introduced in the Hogwarts Legacy game, with the secret of its location only passed down through the Gaunt line for generations.
Since my arrival at Hogwarts, I had sought out the room and always made sure to keep an eye on it on my map to make sure the Marauders or the Weasley twins hadn’t discovered it yet. When I had first found the room, it was full of dust and spider webs so I was hopeful that it was still a secret from the staff and especially Dumbledore.
Wanting to be on the safe side though I had kept my distance and was only using it now since Dumbledore was currently too busy freaking out about the ‘possible’ resurrection of Voldemort.
“Whoa~”
I heard Daphne mutter in awe to my side and turned to her to see her looking at the room in amazement.
“Where are we?”
“Welcome to the Undercroft. A room hidden from everyone, even the staff at Hogwarts.” I said thankful for Ilulu for cleaning up the place. ‘I should get her something nice. She has outdone herself this year preparing my meals and all the other things I’ve bothered her with. Her and Maya now that I think about it.’
“How did you find it?” Daphne asked curiously.
“It was mentioned in one of my ancestor’s journals. Apparently, he befriended a member of the Gaunt family and they showed them this room. It’s supposed to be a secret passed by the Gaunt family for generations now but since there are no more Gaunts around, I figured there would be no harm in using the room.” I explained with a half-lie about how I discovered the room.
“The Gaunts huh? I see, that makes sense.” Daphne muttered in thought with a hand on her chin thinking about it for a moment before nodding her head.
“So, what did you want to speak about so badly that you sneaked a note in my pocket?” I asked with a teasing smile on my face as I directed all my attention to the suddenly flustered looking blonde.
“Ahem, right.” Daphne coughed into her hand willing back her blush and looking at me. “I was hoping to ask you for a favor.”
“A favor?” I asked raining an eyebrow. “Sure, what is it?”
“Can…” Taking a deep breath calmed her nerves and opened her mouth. “Can you please train me?”
Blinking at the question I asked her to explain herself since I was already technically training her before. “But am I not already doing that with you, Rose and Hermione?”
“No,” She shook her head. “I mean more than just teaching me a few spells here and there every month or so. I was hoping you could teach me more regularly. Of course, I’m more than willing to compensate you.” Daphne pleaded.
‘Full on training huh?’ I thought in silence for a moment giving the question some serious thought. ‘Hmm, I guess I don’t see any harm in it. The next two years should be relatively peaceful if everything goes to plan and this gives me the chance to make the girls stronger.’
“Of course, you do-” Daphne chimed in again looking a bit worried when I didn’t respond.
“All right.”
“n’t have to. This is only a request and I understand that I’m asking for a lot…Wait. What?” Daphne asked blinking in surprise once she finally registered what I said. “You will?”
“Of course. I don’t see the harm in it.” I agreed with a smile.
“T-thank you. You won’t regret this.” Daphne said with a small relieved smile on her face.
“We can even use this room to practice in secret without anyone bothering us.” I continued looking at the spacious room around us.
“Yes, that’s what I thought as well.” Daphne agreed with a nod of her head. “Anyways, like I said. I’m willing to compensate you for this as long as it is something reasonable of course.”
“Compensate huh?” I asked with a small grin making Daphne suddenly nervous and start fidgeting in place with a small blush on her cheeks. “Hahaha, I wonder what thoughts are going through your head to make such an expression?” I teased.
“S-shut up.” Daphne stuttered out in embarrassment.
“How about you owe me a favor that I can call in, in the future? Nothing too outrageous of course.” I suggested with a reassuring smile on my face.
“Mmn, that’s fine.” Daphne said now looking more relaxed.
“Good, give me a week or two to figure out what I’ll be teaching you and to come up with a proper schedule.” I said with my mind immediately coming up with ideas on what I could teach her and the others too while I was at it.
“That sounds good to me.”
“Before that though I need to see what I’m working with so… Show me what you got Daph.” I finished with a grin while walking a few feet away from her and turning around with my wand in hand.
“Very well, don’t expect me to go easy on you.” Daphne said with a smirk growing on her red cheeks.
“Haha that’s the spirit.”
Daphne immediately started firing spells my way that I easily avoiding by stepping aside due to my training with Asako and Ilulu in the past months. Every now and then I would send a tickling charm her way (Rictusempra) causing Daphne to panic and hastily move out of the way.
At the five-minute mark I called a stop to our little duel making Daphne sigh in relief and immediately slumping forward while breathing hard trying to regain her breath.
“Haaah I haah couldn’t even haah hit you once.” Daphne said weakly both looking and sounding tired.
“Don’t take it to heart. I’ve spent months learning how to dodge spells with the least amount of effort. In time you will be able to do the same. Sometimes it’s better to avoid a spell than waste magic on blocking it.” I said reassuringly giving her some advice from my past experiences.
“If you say so.” Daphne muttered still sounding exhausted.
Frowning in thought for a moment on whether I should heal her or not I ultimately decided to go through with it and place my trust in Daphne. She had already proven that she was a loyal friend so far ever since the Troll incident and hopefully showing her this I could gain more of her trust.
Walking in her direction I put my wand away and stopping just in front of her I extended my right hand in her direction ignoring her confused look and muttered. “Cure.”
At my words both my hand and Daphne’s body glowed white for a moment before it stopped and I let my hand fall back down to my side.
“Wha?” Daphne muttered in surprise looking down at herself finding that she no longer felt tired and all her energy had been restored. “D-Did you just perform wandless healing magic?”
“Not exactly.” I denied with a shake of my head. “This is a type of extremely rare magic I was born with. It is called White Magic, a magic specializing mainly in healing, removing curses and dealing with the undead.” I revealed being somewhat truthful since this was my new chance at life.
Daphne seemed to freeze at my words causing me to blink in confusion before remembering that her family suffered from a blood malediction that had resurfaced in Astoria leaving her frail. In the original timeline it even took her life after she gave birth.
“You can remove curses!?” Daphne suddenly asked me in a desperate tone looking up at me with vulnerable eyes.
“Yes.” I nodded slowly knowing I could easily heal Astoria either with Purify or if that wasn’t enough, the Stamp would take care of it, causing Daphne to let out a small sniffle with a tear coming down from her eye.
“Daphne? Are you alright?” I asked softly shaking her out of her reverie and making her shake her head as she quickly wiped the tear from her face.
“I-I’m fine. Do you mind if we call it for today? Don’t worry, I don’t plan on revealing your secret with anyone.” Daphne asked looking off to the side unable to look me in the yes at the moment.
“Of course.” I said with a nod of my head and taking a step back watching as Daphne quickly grabbed her bag and walked towards the exit only to stop and turn her head my way for a moment. “Thank you for today, Aether. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“No problem. See you tomorrow, Daphne.” I waved her goodbye watching silently as she finally left, leaving me alone.
“Hmm, I wonder what she’s going to do now knowing I could be the only one that could cure her sister?” I muttered curiously before shaking my head and going back to practicing a few spells since I was already here.
=====
(A Month Later)
It had only taken me a few days for me to come up with a schedule that would accommodate everyone since we were in different houses. When I had asked Rose and Hermione of the idea, they had agreed immediately with Hermione even helping me come up with the schedule.
Daphne had been surprised at first when I had showed up with Rose and Hermione but quickly got over it. When practice had ended Daphne had walked up to me and apologized for just running off like that last time and seemed pleased when I said there was nothing to forgive.
That said she didn't bring up my use of White Magic yet but I did find it curious that she was taking the time to get to know me better than before now. Always greeting me in the mornings during breakfast or whenever we would run into each other in-between classes.
It was honestly kind of cute if I was being honest. To everyone else, she acted cold and detached and barely spoke more than a few words to them but whenever she was in my presence, she would take every opportunity to chat with me. Probably in the chance of learning something about my magic which I didn’t see a problem with.
The only ones who had somewhat of a reaction to her change in demeanor had been Rose and Hermione to a lesser degree. Rose would send the blonde jealous looks whenever she caught her talking to me and would always butt in our conversation which never failed to annoy Daphne.
When it came to Ron and Harry, the thought of asking them to join us did enter my mind more than once but I discarded it since they seemed to be focused more on Quidditch at the moment with the season picking up again.
Come next year I would ask them again and see what they said.
That said I did find myself roped into the whole Norbert incident, stopping the idiots from getting detention when I provided an easier solution to transport Norbert. I had let them borrow my Nab-Sack, an item which could hold bests that I got from the Room of Hidden Things, and told Harry to just carry in under his Invisibility Cloak to avoid detection.
The plan had gone off without any problems and they were able to get Norbert to Charlie Weasley who had been surprised at the magical item.
It was about two weeks after that, that I accidentally met someone I had been hoping to meet for a while now as I was exploring the castle.
I was walking around without a care in the world when I turned a corner and crashed into someone sending us to the ground.
When I opened my eyes, I could only blink in confusion as I found myself staring at a wall of pink only to blink and find out that it was actually a pair of pink knickers that seemed too racy to be worn by any 13-year-old.
More shocking than that though was when my brain finally registered that something soft was pressing against my junk that was slightly moving.
Being the horny teenager that I was, it only took me a few seconds before I got a hard on, with it pressing against whoever was on top of me.
‘Who?’ I thought in confusion and slight panic wondering who I had just ran into.
“That better be your wand pressing against my cheek.”
I heard a voice mutter just centimeters away from my junk causing it to get harder and causing whoever was on top of me to curse.
“S-sorry.” I muttered with a blush growing on my cheeks that only got worse as I watched the girl shiver on top of me and a small wet spot growing on her knickers just above her pussy.
“Ugh, how do you get yourself into these situations Tonks?”
