Chapter 34

(Several Hours Later)

“What did you want to discuss with me Akari-sama?”

Looking at the black-haired woman sitting across from me, I couldn’t help but curse Sasuke yet again for still deciding to follow Orochimaru making the following conversation harder than it needed it to be.

“There’s another piece of news about Sasuke that I must share with you but I figured it would be best if done in a private setting.” We currently found ourselves outside still in my Demiplane, in a beautiful round and open building or in the White Council Chamber from Lord of the Rings.

Sitting to my side was Velgrynd who had decided to accompany me and was just sitting quietly letting me handle the incoming discussion.

“W-What is it?” Nervous now at the subject of discussion, Mikoto nervously played with the hem of her long skirt.

“Yesterday morning I received news that Sasuke had decided to abandon the village and join Orochimaru. A team was sent to retrieve him of course but if the mission fails, he will be branded a traitor and a bounty will be placed on his head.” Knowing I couldn’t keep Mikoto waiting forever I decided to just rip off the band air and take it from there.

“…N-no. No, that can’t be true.” Shocked at my news, the poor woman only shook her head in denial as a few tears ran down her cheeks.

Letting the woman grieve for a moment I sat quietly in my seat until minutes later Mikoto finally pulled herself together again and was now looking at me with a pleading look in her face.

“A-Akari-sama, surely with your power you could save him, right?”

Raising an eyebrow already guessing where this conversation was going, I nodded my head. “Yes.”

Mikoto suddenly got up from her seat and walked around the table in front of us before prostrating herself at my feet. “Please! Please save my son! I beg of you! I would be willing to do anything! Become your plaything, your mistress, your servant, whatever you want! Just please save my son!”

Blinking at her impassioned speech I was saved from having to say anything by the dragoness beside me.

“Hoh, what makes you think you are worthy to be requesting anything from Akari when your everything already belongs to him?” Velgrynd questioned with a raised eyebrow making Mikoto flinch at her words.

“I-I know that I have no right to request anything from him but I’m a mother. It is my duty to do everything in my power to save my only remaining son!” Even while being scared out of her mind at the slight pressure Velgrynd was releasing, the woman didn’t back down which I respected a bit.

‘As expected of a mother I guess.’ Keeping those thoughts to myself I finally opened my mouth. “You do know that I killed Itachi right? And now you are asking your elder son’s murderer to save your younger one?”

Flinching at my words Mikoto nodded her head slowly. “…Itachi. Itachi knew where the consequences of his actions would lead him. While you did kill my son, you also got rid of all the village elders and even promised to take care of the masked man you mentioned. Most importantly you revived the clan and gave it another chance to start over from zero.”

“I just…I just don’t want for my son to take the same path that Itachi was forced to take. So please! Please save him.” At the end of her speech Mikoto had lowered her head all the way to the ground in submission.

“…”

“…Haah. Fine.” Feeling the conviction in her words I couldn’t help but give in being reminded of my first mother for a second before willing the thoughts away.

Hearing my words, Mikoto raised her head so fast that it was a miracle she didn’t snap it and gave me a watery smile as tears freely fell from her cheeks. “T-Thank you sniff. Thank y-you A-Akari-sama! I promise that from this moment forward, I will devote myself entirely to you in body, heart and soul.”

“Be sure that you do! I don’t think you have fully grasped the magnitude of what you just did! I would have normally already killed you for asking something of Akari without offering nothing in return. Or did you already forget that you already belonged to Akari in the first place?” Not pleased at my actions but not willing to contradict me, Velgrynd slightly snarled at the black-haired woman that had turned extremely pale at her words.

Pulling my dragoness for a one-armed hug before she completely traumatized the woman, I unconsciously let a name slip past my lips. “It’s fine Gryn. She’ll understand in time, for now don’t worry about it too much.”

Slightly startled at my actions Velgrynd nonetheless cuddled into my side with a red hue coloring her cheeks. “G-Gryn?”

Realizing what I had said I smiled nervously and scratched the back of my head. “Oh, my bad. Sorry Velgrynd but it just slipped past my mouth for some reason. If you don’t like it, I won’t do it again.”

The dragoness immediately shook her head in a negative and turned her eyes away from me in a shy manner. “No! Ahem I mean, I don’t mind if you call me that.”

‘Cute. This dragon girl is seriously cute!’ Unable to resist the temptation I grabbed her chin and pulled her in for a short kiss leaving the woman looking all flushed with a smile on her face.

Looking back at Mikoto, I saw that she was looking away from us with her red ears giving away her embarrassment.

“Ahem, right. Let me go and retrieve Sasuke then.” Pulling away from Velgrynd’s embrace not missing the slight whine she let out as I did, I addressed Mikoto. “It shouldn’t take more than a few minutes so you can wait here if you want.”

“T-Thank you Akari-sama.” Forgetting her embarrassment Mikoto offered me another bow now looking relieved.

“Sure sure,” Dismissing her words without a second thought I turned to my dragon girl and gave her a smile. “Wanna tag along Gryn?”

Her smile growing in size, Velgrynd nodded happily at my request. “It would be my pleasure Akari.”

The next second I teleported us out of the Demiplane and to Hikari’s location, arriving to the sounds of battle.

=====

(Hikari’s POV)

Weak.

The boy in front of her was so weak to her eyes.

No matter what he tried be it taijutsu, ninjutsu, shurikenjutsu or even using that cursed seal of his, the boy hadn’t been able to land a single blow on her.

It had been a day now since she had been sent on this mission on the request of Akari and Hikari just wanted this to be over with. The only reason she hadn’t caught up to the boy any earlier was because she had been busy capturing the members of the Sound Four and dealing with Kimimaro.

Hikari would leave a clone whenever somebody would split off from the group with instructions to Stamp the members of the Sound Four and shoving them in their shared Pocket Space sometimes having to heal them a bit to make sure they didn’t die from their injuries.

Hikari didn’t really care about the other members of her ‘team’ to be honest as she was here only at the request of Akari. That’s why she didn’t bat an eye when Choji, Shikamaru, Neji and Kiba were left in critical condition after their battle.

Naruto her last ‘team member’, had gone ahead of her since he wasn’t strong enough to deal with Kimimaro so she had to step up. When she caught up to him hours later it was to the sight of the blonde getting his ass kicked by the Uchiha. Not wanting to deal with the blonde, Hikari had knocked him unconscious with a Genjutsu and taken his place.

After her battle with Kiminaro though, Hikari had felt something change from within her, suddenly feeling much stronger than before and being able to sense the feelings of everyone Akari had shared his power with. In addition to that the Stamp she had been carrying around had suddenly disappeared without a trace leaving her confused for a while.

Figuring it had something to do with Akari, she shrugged it off making a note to ask the boy about it later.

Disappointingly, due to her increase in power, the Uchiha boy had been completely powerless against her no matter what he tried. Still feeling anger at the Uchiha Clan as a whole and personally mad at the boy for interfering with her time with Akari, especially since he was due to be leaving soon, Hikari had somewhat let her frustrations get the best of her.

Hikari humiliated the boy in every possible way, showing him that no matter what he did, he would never be able to win against her. When the battle finally drew to a close and her enemy lay defeated before her, she contemplated what to do.

Should she kill him or should she capture him and keep him locked up for a while letting the Nine Tenth’s Law perk take effect?

“Y-You’re an ‘cough’ U-Uchiha aren’t you?”

Blinking at the weak voice coming from below her, Hikari watched silently as Sasuke Uchiha painfully managed to sit up and leaned against a boulder for support.

“And if I am?” Humoring the boy, she raised an eyebrow guessing the boy had managed to figure out her identity due to his matured Sharingan being able to see that the chakra pathways to her eyes were more developed than normally.

“I had a feeling, the pathways to your eyes ‘cough’ are more developed than a regular shinobi. Seems Akari was hiding another Uchiha under my nose.” The boy finished bitterly coughing some blood as he did.

Called it. Not like it mattered. In a few more months she would finally be leaving this cursed world behind so someone figuring out her real identity was meaningless to her.

“This has nothing to do with Akari. I personally asked him not to reveal the fact I was an Uchiha to anyone.” She spat not liking the tone the boy used.

“Why?”

Deciding to humor the boy a bit more she answered. “Because other than Akari and Izumi, I despise the Uchiha Clan as a whole.”

Seeing the stunned look on his face she was saved from saying anything else as two figures appeared behind her causing her to tense only to immediately relax after sensing Akari’s overwhelming but protective aura.

“Good job Hikari. You have gotten much stronger than the last time we fought.”

=====

(Regular POV)

Having arrived a few minutes before the fight finished, me and Velgrynd stood back and watched the battle only stepping in when everything seemed to be over complementing Hikari as we did with a pat to the head.

“Thanks. Did something happen though for you to be here?” Blushing at the complement Hikari coughed into her hand in embarrassment before looking at us curiously.

“Yeah, you could say that. Made a deal with someone and I’m here to keep my word.” I directed my gaze at Sasuke on the ground who was just barely managing to stay conscious.

“H-here to finish me off?” The boy muttered sounding resigned to his fate even closing his eyes.

“No, someone is waiting back home for you.” I answered plainly letting my Shroud manifest behind me and quickly surrounding the boy to the surprise of Hikari who hadn’t seen the shroud yet.

Due to his injuries, it only took a minute before the process was complete and I willed my shroud away showing a completely healed Sasuke who was looking at his body in shock.

“Wha-” That was the only words the boy was able to get out before I teleported him back to his mother.

“Akari.” Velgrynd suddenly muttered to my side.

“I know.” Already knowing what she was talking about, I turned my head to the top of Madara’s statue and saw 4 figures atop it, all of them wearing the Akatsuki cloak.

Immediately catching on to what was happening I felt Hikari tense to my side.

“Do you want me to deal with them? Shouldn’t take too long~” Velgrynd asked from beside me with a small smirk on her face.

“Hmhmhm go ahead. Just make sure you don’t kill them.” Laughing in amusement I couldn’t help but think we were quite lucky having those four, fall into our laps like that.

Without another word Velgrynd disappeared from my side with the sound of wood breaking being heard right afterwards.

“I almost feel sorry for them. Almost.” Muttered Hikari with a sigh finally relaxing her shoulders.

“Can’t say I feel the same.” To me, those four were nothing but a way for me to get more credits. “Alright Kabuto, the coast is clear.” I called out randomly to seemingly no one getting Hikari to raise an eyebrow at me.

A moment later the figure of Kabuto rose from the ground before immediately going on one knee with his head bowed low ignoring the explosions that could be heard in the distance.

“Akari-sama, it’s a pleasure to meet you again. I take it the time has come?” The teen asked in a respectful manner bordering on obsession.

“Yes. Orochimaru will no longer be a problem. You are free to act as you please.” With Sasuke under my control, Orochimaru was all but useless now so I sold him.

“How wonderful~ Now I will be able to dedicate all of my time serving you!” The teen fanatically declared.

We were interrupted by a big explosion, one much bigger than the others coming from up the valley.

“Seems Gryn is having fun~”

=====

(Velgrynd POV)

Casually backhanding the pest that tried to sneak upon her as none but Akari had permission to touch her, Velgrynd’s thoughts once again drifted to the kiss she had received from her beloved a while ago.

‘Aah~ I wonder if I finish off these pests quickly, will he reward me with another one?’ Unfortunately, her pleasant thoughts were interrupted by the sound of multiple explosions that while they had no effect on her whatsoever thanks to her many resistance skills, it did serve to annoy her.

“Tsk, must you make so much noise?” She directed an annoyed gaze at the one responsible, a male with long blonde hair that was riding a creature made out of clay.

“You infuriating woman! How dare you make fun of my art so casually! Hm!”

Rolling her eyes, Velgrynd raised her left index finger stopping a red triple-bladed scythe in its tacks before it could come in contact with her skin and applying a bit of pressure, she snapped it in two.

“You bitch! Stop ignoring me damn it!”

Ignoring the insane rants coming from a gray-haired male with purple eyes, she created a blade with her right hand and chopped his head off knowing he would be fine having already been debriefed on every member of Akatsuki.

“Aaaagghhh! Damn it! That fucking hurt you bitch! Wait until I get my hands on you!”

“Shut up Hidan! This is what you get for being careless.” A tan-skinned man with weird green eyes exclaimed in annoyance before ripping off his cloak and four creatures made out of tendrils separating from his body, each with a different colored mask.

Velgrynd let out a small scoff at his words and sneered at the man. “As if you would fare any better.” And to prove her point she opened her mouth and activated Burning Breath releasing a scalding beam of flames, so compressed that it resembled a beam of light.

At a speed several dozen times the speed of light, the beam erased the four creatures in an instant before it hit the ground causing the earth around it to instantly become lava.

“D-damn! I think we may be in over our heads in this one Sasori no danna. Hm!” The blonde known as Deidara muttered with a nervous sweat running down his brow.

“Quiet Deidara!” The only person that hadn’t attacked yet, a teen with red hair, jumped into the battle with an army of puppets surrounding him. “We just have to find her weak spot. Everyone has one.”

“Fufufufu is that truly what you think?” Honestly Velgrynd was sometimes surprised at the arrogance of humans. Even after witnessing her attack, they still thought they could defeat her for some reason. “Well then, come and find out then.” She taunted them raising the fan she had summoned in front of her hiding the sneer hidden behind it.

Falling for her taunt, the puppet master sent his puppets forward only to watch in shock as about half of them were turned to ash as they tried to fly over the lava on the ground.

Bloody Lava, another special Scorch magic technique that she had prepared when she used Burning Breath by directing it at the ground. With a temperature of 2 thousand degrees and containing her Acceleration, it was capable of killing most beings who came in contact with it. However, since her opponents were so weak, just close proximity with it was enough to turn the puppets to ash.

“I think it’s time I put an end to this.” Bored of playing with her pray, Velgrynd decided to finish things up and get back to her beloved.

In an instant she appeared in front of the puppeteer and with a pull, she yanked his core causing all his puppets to woodenly crash into the ground. She was so fast that the teen didn’t even realize what had happened before it was too late and he was shoved into Pocket Space.

“Sasori no Danna!” Horrified at how fast his master had been taken out, Deidara hastily ripped his shirt open about to unleash his greatest technique. “That’s it! Bear witness to my ultimate ar-gghhk”

The blonde was never able to finish his speech as he found himself without arms or legs thanks to Velgrynd who had cut them off with her sword before grabbing him by the hair roughly and throwing him against the ground.

“KAKUZU! HELP ME YOU FUCKER! I DON’T WAN’T TO DIE!” Sadly, for the worshipper of Jashin, his partner had made a run for it the second Sasori had been taken down.

Not that he got very far of course as Velgrynd appeared in front of the man before he could get more than 20 meters away and immediately surrounded him with her Shroud immobilizing him.

“Haah, that took a bit longer than I thought. I guess I played around with them too much.” The dragoness muttered with a frown before shaking her head and using her Shroud to immobilize her other two targets and teleporting back to Akari.

“Finished?”

Seeing and sensing the proud look her beloved was giving her, Velgrynd couldn’t help but preen a little under his gaze as a smile grew on her face. “Of course.”

In an instant her beloved’s own shroud materialized and surrounded her own relieving her of the targets. Then one by one with the exception of Sasori, he carefully brought them in front of him letting the Shroud retreat for a bit showing skin and biting them drawing blood. When he was done, they suddenly vanished probably being sent to his Inventory or his Imaginary Space.

“Thanks, Gryn~” Slightly blushing at his beautiful smile and at the use of his new nickname for her, Velgrynd couldn’t help but let out a quiet ‘eep’ when she was pulled into his arms again and was rewarded with a kiss on the lips.

‘Yes! This is exactly what I wanted! Take that Velzard! Akari likes me more than you, you frigid bitch!’
