Chapter 56: 1500 Years Back
Jibril’s POV
Jibril truly loved her Master.
Ever since she first lost against him and pledged her everything to him, Jibril had come to realize that meeting him was the best possible thing that could happen to her.
Jibril and her previous race, the Flügel, were originally designed by their creator Artosh to be God-killers and beings of destruction, but ever since the Ten Covenants came into effect after the Great War, they had not only lost their creator but their purpose as well, and been reduced to collecting knowledge to stave off despair.
Most of her kin were still a shell of their former selves and were hollow inside, just going through the motions every day. A once mighty race brought low, defanged and leaderless. That was what the Flügel were nowadays.
Her beloved Master had taken her from such a meaningless world, and taken her with him on a marvelous journey across universes and different realities from her own.
Even in the short amount of time Jibril had been with him, she had now been to two different universes with systems of magic wholly different from her original world, and it was wonderful.
Her Master, having a mindset similar to her own of loving to learn new things, had been kind enough to gift her an ability that would let her take advantage of visiting new realms and learn anything she wished thanks to her Unique Skill: Avenger. An ability that would let her steal the skills of anyone she killed.
Truly the perfect gift for someone like her.
Speaking of killing, though, her Master of course wouldn’t give her such an ability without solving the no-killing rule that she had been bound to back in her original world.
When he had renamed her and granted her his power, he had broken whatever seal kept her from killing and given her her old purpose back.
Even better, Jibril now also had a Master to guide her previously directionless life.
The new pair of wings coming out of her back had become her new pride and joy, as it stood as a physical representation that she was no longer the old Jibril created by Artosh, living a monotonous life back in Disboard.
She was now the Angel Jibril. Subordinate and concubine of her new Master and Lord, Caius Aurelius. A God capable of infinitely growing in strength for as long as he existed.
For what else could she call someone who could perform impossible feats such as her Master with such ease and grace.
As his new Angel, Jibril would dedicate the rest of her existence to dutifully and loyally following his wishes to the best of her abilities.
Just like this exact moment, as her Master had asked her to kill some Devils that felt similar to the Demonia back from her world.
Her Master truly spoiled her, and she loved it.
‘Gotta remember to ask Master if he can let me go back to Disboard for a while so I can recruit the rest of the Flügel for him. I’m sure all my sisters would come to love serving him just as I do once they learn he can break their shackles~’ Jibril thought happily as she descended to the ground, facing her prey.
“Nice to meet you, filthy bats~” Jibril greeted them cordially, since she had some tact unlike some other races, as she gave them a mocking bow. “Consider yourselves unlucky for being found wanting by my Master~”
“I hope you prove entertaining~” she cheered, her smile increasing, and a moment later a scythe made out of her purple magic materialized in her right hand.
“Heh, you are merely a two-winged angel! What do you hope to accomplish that the others couldn’t!?” one of them exclaimed—one of the two who seemed to be in charge, from how much energy Jibril could sense from them—with a mocking sneer that was supported by the others.
“That’s right! You’ll die just like the other pigeons behind you! Or maybe we should leave you for last so we can have some fun with your body!” one of them exclaimed with a disgusting expression on his face as he leered down at her body.
Smiling wider, while not showing just how much those words infuriated her—as her body existed solely for her Master, and only he could ogle it and touch it to his heart’s content—Jibril let out a giggle as her bloodlust spiked.
“Hihihi, it seems I have found my first target~” Jibril stated calmly, and in the next second her hand blurred before the head of the person ogling her rolled down his shoulders while a spray of blood erupted from his decapitated neck.
“Who’s next~?” Jibril asked with a sing-song voice as she slowly licked her lips, making a mental note to ask her Master if he could reward her with some passionate sex after she was done here.
There was silence on the side of the Devils for a moment as their looks of surprise slowly twisted into ones of anger.
“Get her!”
“Huhuhuhu, hehehehe~ Killing is truly the best! Holy Ray!” Jibril laughed in happiness before holding up her hand and vaporizing everybody in her path with Holy Magic.
=====
With Caius
While Jibril was having the time of her life murdering some Devils, I found myself facing the squad of Angels, who were still looking at me a bit warily, though not as much as when we had first appeared.
With a friendly expression and smile on my face, I casually raised a hand in greeting while ignoring the sound of deranged laughter and painful screams coming from somewhere behind me.
“Hello there, mind if I ask a few questions?” I asked calmly while making sure to keep a good distance away from them so they wouldn’t see me as a threat.
The Angels looked at one another for a moment, looking confused at what to do, before they turned to the Angel with six wings who seemed to be the leader.
The Angel in question stepped forward in front of his siblings and nodded at me while glancing briefly behind me at the massacre that was happening, with a look of confusion and slight reproach.
“Of course, stranger. Thank you for the help. Are you perhaps an acquaintance of Father, brought here by our new sibling?” the Angel asked me curiously before once more glancing behind me, now with a clear frown on his face.
“I didn’t know that he had created such an…” Here he paused as Jibril let out another deranged laugh and a scream followed after. “…enthusiastic Angel, and rather strong too from the looks of things.”
‘Father? So, he’s not dead then, I take it?’ I thought privately, storing that piece of information away for later.
Looking behind me, I caught Jibril clearly having the time of her life as she chased down a few Devils that had decided to make a run for it, since I had locked the area without their knowledge to prevent any teleportation, before turning back to address him.
“Just to be clear, by Father, do you mean Yahweh, or YHWH?” I asked with a raised eyebrow, deciding to play the clueless card a bit longer.
Blinking in confusion, the Angels looked at me even weirder as the one in charge slowly nodded his head. “…That’s correct. I apologize if I sound a bit rude, but who and what exactly are you then? I know you aren’t a regular human, of course, with the flying, but beyond that I’m lost. How did you come about to be traveling with one of our kin?”
Before I could answer, one of the two-winged angels behind suddenly scowled fiercely and looked at me intently. “Are you a subordinate of one of the Pagan Gods, perhaps?” he asked a bit rudely.
At his question more muttering broke out as more Angels now looked at me with varying degrees of aggression, making me curious while also confirming something for me.
‘I see, I think I’m starting to piece together when exactly we are. If God is still alive and already in conflict with both the Devils and other Gods, then the Great War must still be going on and we must be at least a thousand years back in the past,’ I silently concluded with a blank expression.
“…No, I’m not with any other Pantheon or ‘Pagan’ Gods,” I said with a shake of my head, immediately causing some of them to relax while the others still looked at me warily.
“As for who I am, I’m Caius Aurelius,” I finally introduced myself with a small theatrical bow, ignoring the small whispers of Empire at the mention of my name.
Straightening up again, I smiled in a relaxed manner as I continued. “As for what I am, let’s just say that I’m a traveler of sorts and leave it at that.”
Just at that moment, Jibril landed beside me again, already done killing all the remaining Devils and wearing a huge smile on her face as she immediately giggled and snuggled to my side while rubbing her face against my arm.
“Thank you so much for the present, Master~ I love you!” Jibril cheered happily before standing on her tiptoes and giving me a big kiss on the cheek, to the surprise of the Angels watching, who all suddenly gasped and widened their eyes.
“Of course, Jibril. I’m glad you had fun,” I muttered as I patted her head, getting her to giggle happily as she snuggled closer to my side, almost trying to fuse our bodies together.
As she did that, I made sure to keep my eyes on the Angels, who had quickly gone through several emotions in quick succession.
First from surprise at Jibril’s clearly affectionate actions, then to confusion as they looked at Jibril’s still-white wings, and then finally to anger as they realized what Jibril had referred to me as, and it clearly went against their core beliefs.
“What are you doing, sister!?” the still-unnamed six-winged Angel exclaimed loudly with a frown on his face. “You know that such acts of affection are forbidden! And why are you calling him your Master!?”
To my amusement, Jibril didn’t even seem to have heard him as she continued being really affectionate with me, now happily snuggling up to my chest and rubbing her head against me with closed eyes.
Her actions only seemed to make the guy even more mad as he narrowed his eyes and stepped forward, clearly intending to forcibly remove her from my side himself.
Any amusement immediately died after that, and I let some of my aura loose, freezing him and all the Angels behind him in place.
“…Why don’t you take a moment to relax. I believe there has been a misunderstanding here,” I muttered with a pleasant expression that didn’t match the look I was giving them.
Jibril, feeling the change of my aura and my expression, finally pulled herself away from me and turned to the other Angels with a serious look on her smiling face.
“So that’s what all the yapping was about,” Jibril muttered with a look of disgust as she took in her fellow Angels before it was instantly replaced by an eager smile as she turned to me. “Master~ Would you like me to kill them as well?”
The Angels immediately tensed and became even more shocked at how casually Jibril had not only insulted them but threatened to kill them as well.
“Let’s try being civil first,” I said, giving her a small smile as she happily nodded, before I reined in my aura and turned to the now-tense Angels.
“Let me clear some things up before we continue,” I started pleasantly as I let my hand rest on top of Jibril’s pink head, causing her to close her eyes in bliss.
“Jibril here, while being an Angel, wasn’t created by your father and is my subordinate,” I revealed calmly, getting wide eyes in return at such a reveal, with some of them even turning to anger at probably some perceived slight.
“We are not here to fight, but we will defend ourselves if attacked. Now, why don’t we start this from the beginning. Would you mind sharing your name?” I asked with a small smile.
The six-winged Angel frowned before shaking his head and looking at me with a small nod. “Very well. While I have many questions, since you did help us out and you haven’t been hostile so far, I will let such matters drop for now. As for my name, it is Abdiel.” The now-named Abdiel revealed.
“Huhuhu, that’s rather arrogant of you to think that you deserve any answers from my Master, little bird,” Jibril let out a condescending chuckle as she looked at Abdiel with open hostility, causing him and the Angels behind him to tense.
That was when my hand gently fell on Jibril’s head with a small chop, causing her expression to drop and for her to cutely hold her head with a pout on her face.
“Let’s not start any trouble, Jibril,” I said in a slightly chiding tone, getting a nod and a bigger pout before it was replaced by a lewd smile, probably having liked it.
“Okay, Master~”
Ignoring the masochist, I turned to Abdiel again, who I noticed was still extremely tense. “Let’s start with something simple. Would you mind telling me what the date is? Or if you don’t know, what major events are happening currently in the world of man?” I asked politely, getting a curious raised brow from Abdiel.
“…An adventurer, you say?” Abdiel repeated my words from earlier with a puzzled look before continuing. “In terms a human could understand, the Byzantine Empire is currently run by Justinian I.”
Blinking, I tried to recall the exact date, only for my lovely Astra to chime in.
“Justinian I’s reign lasted from 527 AD to 565 AD. Meaning we are about 1500 years back in the past,” Astra relayed happily.
‘Thanks, dear,’ I thanked back, glad I didn’t have to remember that.
“Thanks for that,” I said, giving him a small nod. “Now for the final question, and this might sound strange, but are you currently at war with the Devils and Fallen?”
My question took him and the ones behind him even more off guard, as he was now looking at me as if I was living under a rock.
“Correct, but how can you not know that? As a supernatural being yourself, you should be aware of such a thing,” he questioned with a suspicious look.
Before I could answer, I paused as I sensed three presences approaching from opposite directions, ones clearly much stronger than the Angels here and the Devils that Jibril had killed combined.
Still nothing to worry about for either myself or Jibril, of course, but I became curious as to who it was, as if they were someone known, I could use it to get a feel for how strong people here were.
“Hold that thought. Seems the real reinforcements finally arrived,” I muttered while looking at the sky, with Jibril already doing the same, having caught my look and able to quickly track them.
With my barrier taken down as soon as the fighting was done, it didn’t take very long for three presences to arrive, with one of them landing close to us and the Angels and the other two where Jibril had massacred all the Devils earlier.
‘Hoh, what do we have here?’ I thought in curiosity as my gaze first went to the Angel, who was of course blonde with green eyes, but my gaze was more focused on his back and the pair of six wings proudly displayed there.
‘A Seraph. Is it Uriel or Raphael, though?’ I wondered silently before letting my gaze travel to the Devils who had also arrived, and this time saw that it was two women.
The first one had long light-purple hair and purple eyes, and while extremely beautiful, that beauty was marred by the look of arrogance and superiority on her face. Behind her, similar to the Seraph, there was a pair of six bat wings, marking her as probably one of the current Satans or a relative.
‘A Seraph and a possible Satan at the same time, huh?’ I thought in amusement before letting my gaze settle on the last woman, only to pause and blink several times.
‘…What the fuck!? Is that Rias?’ I thought incredulously as I beheld a beautiful girl with long bright crimson hair and lavender eyes. ‘Wait! Lavender eyes?’
Looking more closely, I saw that the woman, while looking almost identical to the pictures of Rias I had seen circulate the internet, looked a bit short even if she still had massive breasts and a curvy body, but it was her eyes that finally revealed her identity to me.
‘Holy shit! Runeas is fucking hot!’
