Chapter 9: The Deal

Seeing how scared she was, probably thinking the worst of me right now, I let a reassuring smile grow on my face as I started walking toward her.

“Relax, Gloria. If I wanted to do something, I had plenty of opportunity to do it while I followed you to the car.” I said reassuringly, coming to a stop in front of her. She backed up against her car, her hands holding the bag beneath her jacket even tighter.

“W-What do you want?” Gloria asked, still in a scared tone. Not reassured at all. I had to give it to her for being a smart choice in this rotten city.

“The Sandevistan. I already said that.” I reminded her calmly before rolling my eyes as she tightened her hold on the bag.

“Gloria, hun, please do us both a favor and don’t make this any harder than it needs to be. You need money, right?” I asked with a raised eyebrow, causing her to pause and eye me carefully.

“I…”

“Don’t answer that.” I interrupted her as I raised my hand. “Of course you do. Why else would you not reject the money I keep giving you, and why would you risk your job stealing a clearly experimental piece of chrome that’s no doubt worth a lot to the right buyer?”

“I had the same idea after all, and hence here I am.” I explained calmly before letting out a sigh and adopting a serious expression. “So, here’s how this is gonna go.”

Ignoring the way Gloria tensed even more, and how her eyes looked a bit resigned and filled with despair, I told her my plan.

“First, you’re going to hand over that piece of chrome. I did go through the trouble of killing the bastard it was attached to, after all.” I said while calmly extending my hand toward her with a meaningful look.

“Fine. Here.” With a sigh of her own, Gloria slumped forward before slowly taking out the bloody bag from under her jacket and only somewhat reluctantly handed it over to me.

Taking it from her hands with a smile, I surprised her as it suddenly disappeared before her very eyes into my Inventory. Her eyes widened and she looked at me in confusion, silently asking for an explanation.

Continuing to ignore her, I suddenly surprised her by pulling her into my arms in a hug. Her body completely froze, and her hands came up to my chest in an unconscious attempt to get away from me.

She ultimately didn’t end up going through with it, though, as one of my hands came up and started caressing her hair in a relaxing manner.

“Relax.” I murmured against her ear softly. “I already told you that if I wanted to hurt you, I would have done so.” I repeated, finally causing her to do just that. She leaned her body more properly against mine and slowly hugged me back.

“Good. Now for the next part.” I muttered against her ear, causing her to slightly tense again as I grinned teasingly before leaning back and giving her a wink.

“We’re going to go back to my place, and you’re going to tell me what made you so desperate to risk doing something like this.” I stated, smiling even wider as she blinked in confusion.

“T-That’s it?” Gloria asked with a small stutter, as if not quite believing my words.

“Well, depending on the mood, I might decide to partake in your body.” I whispered huskily once more, smirking as I felt her shiver in my arms.

“…Fine. It’s not like I have a choice in the matter.” Gloria said as she pulled away from me with a small flush on her cheeks and turned her head away.

‘Heh. Desperate women are so easy.’ I thought privately in amusement.

With the tension mostly gone, I got in the passenger seat as Gloria drove us back to my place while I silently reminded myself to go back to my car later.

‘I hope it’s still in one piece when I do.’

An Hour Later

“…And that’s everything.” Gloria finished her tale as we relaxed on the couch. I hugged her to my side, one of my hands playing with her breast.

She pouted and glared at me, but did nothing to remove my hand from its position. That let me know she silently enjoyed it, going by the way she would try to hide her moans from me.

“So basically, your job is nowhere near enough to cover your son’s school expenses and everything else, right?” I asked, not really caring about the matter if I was honest, but I had to at least pretend like I cared.

“Yes. David always needs new things for school and I just can’t keep up.” Gloria admitted before letting out a soft moan as I pinched her nipple through her shirt, causing her to glare at me with a cute angry expression.

“Then I have a simple solution for you.” I stated confidently as I leaned down and stole a kiss from her that she reluctantly returned.

“I have a feeling I’m not going to like what I hear, but what is it? At this point, I have nothing else to lose. That experimental chrome was my last chance.” Gloria asked me with suspicious looks as she looked up at me, panting slightly from excitement as my hand had never stopped fondling her breast.

Smirking, I stole another kiss from her. “Become my woman, Gloria. Do so and all your money problems will disappear.” I declared seriously.

While I didn’t love Gloria, or ever see myself falling for her anytime soon, she was still leagues better than most of the whores I had brought back to my apartment. If I could convince her to become mine, I could stop spending time picking up chicks as much and focus on getting stronger.

I wasn’t going to stop pursuing other girls, of course. Someone as sharp as Gloria probably already knew that, and it hadn’t stopped her from coming back each time, so I didn’t see why it would matter now.

Besides, it wasn’t like Gloria wouldn’t benefit from this little arrangement of ours. Not only would I become her literal sugar daddy, but being my woman meant I would also protect her from the scum of this city.

With how much I was earning now, and how much more I was going to earn the better I got at this merc business, it would be simple as hell to handle her and her son’s expenses without any issues.

‘That little shit better be thankful.’ I thought, thinking of Gloria’s son. From the little I had learned about him, the guy was an ungrateful little shit who didn’t truly appreciate everything his mother did for him.

“Tsk. And I suppose you have no intention of fucking other girls on the side if I agree, huh?” Gloria said with a small scoff, making me smile as I confirmed her words, making her roll her eyes.

“Is that a yes?” I asked with a raised eyebrow and an amused smile.

Gloria didn’t respond verbally. Instead she just buried her head on my chest as I caught a flash of her now-red ears.

‘See, I knew she’d understand.’ I thought in triumph as I sneaked my hand inside her shirt and caressed her breast more directly, getting a bigger moan from her.

“J-Just be aware that I won’t whore myself out to anyone else.” Gloria stated with a small pant as she rubbed her thighs together in arousal.

“Hehehe. Of that you have nothing to worry about, my dear. Despite what you might think of me, I’m a rather possessive guy, and I would never share something that I considered mine.” I declared as I bit her ear playfully, causing her to shudder.

“Yet you won’t settle for a single girl.” Gloria let out in another small scoff, making me chuckle.

“That’s right. Now enough talking about my hobbies.” I growled slightly and pushed Gloria down against the couch, hovering over her. My amusement grew at seeing Gloria’s flushed and panting expression as she looked at me with needy eyes.

Turns out that Gloria is a bit of a masochist, and she completely goes wild when I take charge in bed. As expected of a hot milf.

“Now, to rest for a few hours, pick up my car, and finally see about selling that Sandevistan.” I muttered with a yawn before letting my body rest.

A Few Days Later

Once I had gotten my car back, I got to work on calling up Regina and Wakako. I told them I would owe them a favor if they got word out that I had managed to get my hands on an experimental Sandevistan that I was looking to sell.

Accepting, they told me it would take a few days. I went back to taking as many jobs as I could, though with some slight changes.

With Gloria now being officially my woman, and since she didn’t have to work extra shifts because I was handling her expenses, her presence in my apartment had become a bit more common. She had started showing up every day after work for a few hours if I was home that day, before heading back to spend some time with her son.

I had suggested she quit her job, but she had denied, probably still not trusting me completely to keep my word in the long run. So I let her be.

Most of that time included us being stuck at the hips and Gloria screaming my name for the world to hear, but we did spend some time just talking, which she seemed to enjoy.

After a few days, though, I had finally gotten word from Wakako telling me there were a few people interested, and I was going to meet one of them now at Lizzie’s Bar.

“I sure keep finding myself back here.” I muttered under my breath as I walked up to the entrance and greeted the girls outside standing guard with a smile and nod.

“Hello, ladies.”

“Haven’t seen you in a while, handsome~ You enjoy yourself, alright?” the cute Asian chick greeted me with a flirty smile as she and her partner stepped out of the way.

“Been busy. And thanks, I will.” I gave them another nod before making my way inside and looking around for a huge Black dude.

It didn’t take me long to spot Maine in one of the private booths, and I made my way there with a casual pace.

That’s right. In a surprising turn of events, Maine was one of the people interested in buying the Sandevistan. With how much chrome he was already packing, you’d figure he’d take it easy on getting any more, but it seemed as if the guy was on a race to see how fast he turned into a cyberpsycho.

‘Meh. As long as he pays before he does and eventually gets killed, then I don’t really care.’ I dismissed the thought as my gaze turned to the others who were joining Maine.

There was Dorio, Rebecca, and Lucy, with Kiwi and Pilar missing from the group.

At that moment Rebecca turned my way and caught sight of me. A grin grew on her face as she waved at me.

“Hey, choom! You’re finally here! Saved a spot for ya!” Rebecca yelled loud enough for me to hear her over the music.

In return I smiled and raised a hand in greeting before taking my seat next to Rebecca, who was patting the seat beside her with a cheeky grin.

“Hey, Rebecca. How’ve you been?” I greeted the gremlin casually with an amused smile.

“Eh, can’t complain. Though, I’ve been hearing word about you lately, choom. Wakako sure seems impressed with you.” Rebecca said with a relaxed smile as she held the back of her head with her hands and casually leaned up against me.

“I’m just a lone merc, so I bet she’s exaggerating.” I said in return before letting my gaze travel to Lucy next, who was sitting on Rebecca’s other side and already looking at me.

“Lucy, right?” I asked in a friendly manner, getting a small nod from her before she turned away. I moved my gaze to Dorio and Maine, who were sitting on the opposite side.

“Dorio, Maine. Nice to see you still alive and kicking.” I greeted them with another nod, getting one from the former and a grin from the latter.

“I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard from Wakako that you managed to get your hands on some experimental Sandevistan, choom. It was just the upgrade I’ve been looking for.” Maine laughed happily as he extended his hand toward me for a handshake, and I returned the gesture.

“I just got lucky, if I’m being honest.” I said with a small shrug, not elaborating any further on how I had done so.

‘Yep. I give this guy no more than two weeks before he goes bananas and either gets himself killed or ends up hurting some of his team.’ I thought privately.

Since it was not my problem, though, and since I was only slightly fond of Rebecca due to the amazing sex we had one time, I saw no reason to get myself involved.

“So, do you want to handle biz first?” I asked as I took a beer from Rebecca and nodded in thanks to her before taking a big gulp.

“Hah, might as well. Then we can celebrate.” Maine said with a sigh before getting a serious expression.

After going back and forth for a while, we settled on 100k, with Maine paying 60k up front and the rest he would pay me over the next week.

I had only agreed to such a thing because Rebecca had been busy making faces at me and rubbing against me in a needy manner the whole time.

There was also Lucy, who I was starting to believe wanted something from me, as she hadn’t stopped looking at me the whole time even if she tried to be subtle about it. Or she could not like me. One of the two.

With the deal done, I told them that we could pick it up from my place afterwards, which they agreed to. Then we started drinking, with Rebecca pulling me onto the dance floor sometime during it.

When we finally retired for the evening, I was able to give Maine the Sandevistan without any problems before they left with a promise to pay me back as soon as possible.

Well, I had thought everyone left, at least. When I returned to my apartment, I found a naked Rebecca waiting for me in bed with a grin on her face.

‘Heh. This girl is something else.’ I thought in amusement as I locked the door behind me and made my way toward her while discarding my clothes on the way.
