I almost went with this comic last week, but I wasn't happy with my initial plan for the idea. Initially it was just going to be a goblin pleading to the heroes to go free Undermine. The heroes were not interested until the goblin mentioned the bad guys have better gear. It just didn't feel like an original enough of an idea, so I sat on it.

This week when I looked back at the concept, I thought about showing it from Gallywix's perspective and it was funnier to me. It all relied on that final panel: him panicking and desperately trying to remove the loot after looking outside and seeing a raid ready to annihilate him.

I also originally planned on having a second goblin in this comic on screen speaking with Gallywix. As soon as I started drawing though, I realized it was a lot easier to just have the dialogue come from off-screen. It was partly due to laziness, but it also made blocking the frames a lot easier.

It also gave me more time to focus on making sure Gallywix's expressions and actions looked good.

I'mma be honest and while I see where the joke's trying to come from, I think it way over-telegraphs itself, between it all being in a hoard and him calling it loot - I thought he was going to use it as a bribe. I think he should have called it "gear". with more emphasis on him wielding it.

I have been wanting to kick Gallywix's backside ever since I made my first Goblin. How the hell has nobody ever taken him out before?
