Comic #942: Lion's Pride (Patreon)

This started because I wanted to create a comic where an established NPC decided to become a hero. I think I ended up falling into that heroes aren't really heroes trope that I often do, but I think I still like the end result. I just like the juxtaposition between a sincere honest in-character NPC and the ruthless jaded out-of-character player.
I'm embarrassed to say that it wasn't until this very comic that I realized Marshal McBride and Marshal Dughan are not named Marshal and are in fact, Marshals. I was sitting here, like an idiot, thinking "I've already drawn Marshal McBride in #815, now I gotta drawn another Marshal? How many of these damn stormwind deputies are named Marshal?" Maybe there's a comic idea in there somewhere.
Anyway, I struggled a bit in this one drawing the two characters. At first they looked a bit too serious, I was missing some of my weirdness factor. They looked too sincere in that first panel, I ended up giving them a bit more of a lazy-eyed bored expression. I also decided to stick a bit of a chip in Farley's front teeth to give him a bit more character. Sometimes those little details help a character look a bit more unique and interesting than just a bland background NPC.
