Comic #953: A Mount to Nothing (Patreon)

I knew very quickly after last week's comic that I wasn't done using Kael. Especially because last week's comic didn't really touch on the whole mount drop thing at all, even though that was my initial plan (as I mentioned in last week's commentary).

I initially planned on using Narya for this comic, as he was the one fighting Kael last week, however, I had completely forgotten about comic #934, in which everybody but Nyte gets this exact mount. So my hands were tied. I ended up using Nyte's exact pose from the final panel again as a tiny bit of a callback.

The initial idea here was that Kael was holding back on dropping the mount because he wanted the company, but I couldn't really think of a way to a punchline from that premise. In the end I thought just making it a bait-and-switch was good.
