Comic #958: Love is Blind (Patreon)

I usually stay away from raunchy stuff but I couldn’t help it. I had a lot of different premises revolving around Xal’atath and her feet, but every time I tried to make her feet the punchline you could see it coming a mile away. In the end I decided to go a different route, and work in her feet as a throwaway joke or just a visual gag. So even though Krom is kissing her bare feet in the final panel, the punchline would still work if it were her hand instead.

I’m not sure that the punchline itself is really that strong, but the final expressions for the three characters in the last panel are doing a lot of heavy lifting. Especially Nyte’s expression. I initially was going to have her be outraged. But something about her dry heaving in disgust is a lot funnier to me.

I’ve never drawn one of my characters dry heaving and it’s kind of a subtle expression to draw, so I was worried I couldn’t pull it off. I had to dry heave into a mirror multiple times to get the tongue right.
