Comic #174: No-Fly Zone (Patreon)

I completely forgot about Wintergrasp. It was an entire PVP-active zone in the center of Northrend and entering it would force you off your flying mount. So sometimes if you aimed your auto-run wrong while flying AFK you would come back to a corpse.

I kind of like everything about the comic until the final panel. Just feels like I had a great premise and didn't stick the landing (no pun intended). The random new undead mage feels weird, but I guess I was kind of stuck using a horde character and never really wrote any that were recurring. I wonder if having Gigz in the final panel just gathering parachutes from charred corpses and saying something like, "Wintergrasp is a great source of frostweave!" would have been better.

I do wonder if I crafted the engineering flying mount in-game just before drawing this comic, and the first few panels are just an excuse for me to show off my achievement. Otherwise I'm surprised I actually drew the whole thing.

In order to have the background change so that Miji starts high up in the air and descends down to the ground, I basically just drew a large background image and just focused on a lower and lower part of it throughout the comic. Here's the full unedited image:
