The "last online" numbers on Keydar's friends list are actually how long ago each of those characters appeared in the comics.

A lot of times before I post a comic, I try to see how much exposition and distractions I can remove and still retain the joke. Generally I find the less text, the better. Wordy comics are often not as expressive or visual. If I can tell the same story visually it will always be better (though I don't always have the skill to do that).

For this comic in particular, I removed a lot of extra stuff from the final panel. I originally had the inbox panel open in addition to the letter, which though realistic in the game, added nothing but a distraction for the reader. I also had a "From" and a "Subject" line to the letter, both of these things are also true to the game, but they only served to spoil the punchline by revealing it was from the Brew of the Month Club.

Aaaw, poor Keydar. Also very relatable comic. Great work!

Roofstone

Ahh, everyone knows about that inbetween-expansion-funk. Great for us dorks on the roleplaying realms though, nobody is busy with raids or pvp so everyone kicks back and piles into the cities and towns for some casual make believe.

Super relatable. Except for me no friends play wow anymore in general, so it's "5 years" or more for most :(

I can't remember how many years it has been since I played WoW. I think it was close to 10 years ago! Offline for 3-4 months, that's nothing! I can't believe I am still reading this comic :-)
