Comic #635: Topping the Charts (Patreon)

I love using gifs, but its rare that they work in a comic.

They have to repeat, since you don't want the reader to miss the animation. You also want it to be a perfect loop, because it looks jarring and awkward if the gif jumps when it repeats. I've used some workarounds in the past, like in this comic, where Krom's tally mark fades in order to reset the gif.

They also have to be quick, as you don't want the reader to miss the joke if they see it mid animation. This one cuts it a bit close.
