Is... is that proto Donald? It might be. There is one more comic containing a proto Donald candidate before his first true appearance. I would often recycle old character designs, so it isn't completely outside the realm of possibility, but unfortunately, I just can't remember.

Gold farming was pretty huge in Vanilla. You would get strange whispers pretty often. I found this screenshot among my old comic files, dated April 10th, 2006. I'm thinking it must have been some inspiration for this comic, but I can't recall specifics:

It used to be a running joke that you could pretend to be a Chinese gold farmer to avoid having conversations with people in game, hence the comic.
