That second and third panel were a lot easier in my head than in reality. I realized I had no idea how light behaved in those situations. Normally I either look images up online or pose as a character if I need a reference, but this was a pretty specific image I was looking for, and all examples I could find online were too simplistic.

So I ended up cutting double doors into a cardboard box and taking a picture through a hole in the other side to get an idea I could use as a reference:

It worked a lot better as a reference than I expected.
