Poor sweet Donald.

For those of you readers not still playing the game, there is now a tutorial zone, Exile's Reach, for new players, which walks you through the basics of the game, including how to move, look around, etc.

I thought about making the location more obvious, but ultimately I didn't feel it was necessary to know where he was specifically for the joke. Originally, Donald had dialogue in the final panel, something like, "this is a challenge!". The dialogue felt a little unnecessary and spoiled the joke a bit, so I kept trying to think of ways to remove it.

Ultimately, it came to me after I drew the tutorial popup for the final panel. I realized the popup took up a lot of space in the panel, and wasn't sure where to put Donald. Off to the side? Behind it with his head popping out? Below it looking up? Lying down... wait.. dead!

The idea that he somehow died trying to follow hand placement directions tickles me.
