I basically wrote this entire comic just so I could make panel 4.

I actually had a hard time writing this one, because I liked the premise of a Kobold going to the Shadowlands far more than any of the punchlines I came up with. I had one version where the Kobold was rehabilitated into a Kyrian. I had another version where Narya wore his candle as a transmog in the first panel, and wore the Venthyr anima canister cloak transmog in the final panel.

In the end I went with the version that really makes us players look like whiny sociopaths.

I do feel like I haven't fully explored this Kobold's story through the shadowlands. Maybe he'll make another appearance.

I made the speech bubble color white in this comic because there was way too much blue already in the background. I might keep it that way in the future.

Also, you may recognize the Venthyr from comic #756 and #760. He has a serious Anima dependency issue.

As a life-long skinner/leatherworker, nothing in the game was as unrelentingly annoying as people who would decimate entire regions of wildlife but simply be "too good" for any of the junk the animals dropped. Since WoW doesn't allow one to skin unlooted creatures and because unlooted corpses take "forever" to despawn, the landscape would be covered in useful leather decomposing in the sun as I ground my teeth looking for something living ... so I could kill and skin it myself. Yes, I'd say "whiny sociopath" is definitely on-point.

Is it meant to be irony that Narya considers 5 anima to be hardly worth the effort when most of the WQ reward *exactly* 5 anima?
