Comic #773: Light and Shadow (Patreon)

I didn't really need to have the 5th panel for this comic but where's the fun in that? This comic is mostly just a challenge to see how creepy I can make my drawings.

I knew I wanted to continue the kobold theme from last week, and I thought it would be fun to dive into kobold lore a little bit.

When I posted last week's comic on reddit, there were a few comments talking about the Legion quest which revealed that kobolds wore candles to ward away monsters from the void. I love cosmic horror, and it honestly just gave me an excuse to draw something Lovecraftian.

I wanted that 5th panel to be as scary as possible to really make the final panel work.

The 5th panel is probably my hardest animation to date. It has 16 frames in total, and 4 separate animated parts: Nyte's eyes, the monster's teeth, eyes, and tentacles.
