Comic #821: Bench Warmer (Patreon)

This was based on an idea I had last week but could never quite get right. On last week's commentary I mentioned:

"It originally was going to be a Narya themed comic where Krom was telling him he wasn't cut out for raiding"

In the original version, Krom told Narya "If I can see you in this DPS window at the end of the fight, I'll give you another chance." In the final panel Narya had expanded the entire DPS window to fill the whole comic panel so he would be visible at the bottom. It never felt funny enough to me, so I scrapped it. This week I looked at the idea with fresh eyes, and thought an endless animated scroll through the meters would be funny.

I had some other mages in the scroll, but decided that might be confusing, as it would look like Narya might be in there. So I guess the guild only has one mage. Maybe I'll do a comic where they get a new mage recruit and Narya is super jealous and competitive.

I also had to draw Narya in a 3/4 profile from BEHIND. SO WEIRD.
