Wow this takes me back.

This is in reference to the William Shatner WoW commercial circa 2007.

It's odd, I often don't remember the inspiration behind my old comics, especially ones that are over 15 years old, but I vividly remember sitting in AB defending mine and being yelled at by some guy in chat for "AFKing".

As for the rest of the comic, that commercial was a pretty big deal back when it aired, and I knew I had to parody it. At the time Donald was the character I used to lambast any type of player I didn't like. I don't think I would have him be as mean as he was in some of those panels nowadays.

My unofficial canon is that his account has been passed down to different siblings over the years. Clearly, current Donald has a more jerky older brother who used the account in 2007. In fact, that gives me an idea, and if you see a comic in the future featuring the Donald siblings, you'll know where the idea came from.
