Comic #886: Survivor (Patreon)

I really wanted to see Narya's version of last week's comic. Especially after the guild chat joke. I thought to myself that the one guarantee for Narya to survive a fight would be if he did literally zero dps.

Doing damage and avoiding damage seem to be a common theme within this comic and the game itself, and I enjoy the idea that Narya absolutely can not do both at the same time.

My first version of the comic was essentially the same, but it had a few extra panels preceding what you see here. It initially started with Krom telling Narya to stay alive in a fight, and then several panels of Narya avoiding mechanics. But in the end I realized the first several panels were not necessary, and I felt it might be funnier to discover Narya survived a fight after seeing everyone celebrate rather than before.

I also wanted to make sure that you could see the celebration happening in the final panel. There's something funny to me about the juxtaposition of Nyte & Krom's exasperation and everyone else's unbridled joy.
