Comic #887: The Present Day (Patreon)

I know nobody cares, but can I brag about the title? It's rare I get such a perfect double meaning.

My initial idea was the premise with the first three panels, and Nyte's dialogue in the final panel. I knew I wanted something to happen to shatter Nyte's nostalgia, I just wasn't sure what that thing would be. I tried to think back to the Ironforge days and see if I could think of anything annoying one of the other characters could do. In the end I looked at some pictures of ironforge, saw the various lava pits and crevices and thought of what we ended up with.

It's Lucky I already drew Ironforge in #878. Saved me some time! The crowd of people around the tree took a little work but I think it turned out nicely. It always feels a little bad to put that much effort into a drawing only to have it be blurred slightly in the background. However the blurring does have the added benefit of hiding most imperfections.
